Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@Mangotango39 @LeopardLover Yes it's the thought of waiting any longer and then it being months or a year, or longer, before anything happens, and having to kick myself for not trying sooner. I don't feel I can leave it any longer now, but there's a pretty good chance I'll be unemployed in a one bed house if it happens right away, with a partner on a low paid part time job! I do have various work options that I can do from home very flexibly, so I think my plan is just to have 6 weeks off then with both working part time we should be able to keep body and soul together, and both being in a much better position a year or two later. It's just so frustrating that I finally have some earning potential, after years of retraining, but age-wise I really can't put the baby thing off any longer!

I did manage to make myself feel okay about delaying these extra last few months by going supplement crazy, eating a lot healthier, and finding sustainable exercise routines. Are you doing any supplements in addition to the prenatal vits @LeopardLover ? I took CoQ10 for three months before to get the eggs at the start of their journey, and it definitely seems to do something - my wisdom teeth started growing again😬

All that said... I'm still symptom spotting like crazy and I think the joy would outweigh the anxiety if it does happen this time or soon!

LeopardLover · 06/04/2023 20:10

@BatildaB I can totally understand that! Hopefully it happens in just a few months 😅 It's good news you have options when it comes to jobs, and at least after your baby you can start your new career properly! I'd like to spend time finding a more fulfilling and better paid job but also feel like I'm running out of time 🙈

I also started CoQ10 but back in Feb, so probably have enough time to get to 3 months before TTC. Although I haven't noticed a difference - unless I'm too tired! 🤣 That's such a pain about your wisdom teeth but hopefully a sign it's been working on your eggs too. 😅

Have you ever done any testing? I'm tempted to try at home fertility testing in a few months, out of curiosity more than anything.

I feel nervous just thinking about it, I know I'll be full crazy when we start 😅x

CinderRosie · 06/04/2023 21:42

@BatildaB how old are you if you don’t mind me asking?
I am 36, 37 this summer so really feeling like I don’t have time to wait around and delay TTC!

BatildaB · 06/04/2023 22:15

@LeopardLover I haven't done any testing, but I have asked my mum lots of personal questions about when she went into menopause (not too early!), and she had my sister at 39. I didn't want to test if I don't need to as I can get quite anxious and obsessive about health stuff, and can imagine that just getting tests would introduce a lot of stress that might be counter-productive! If you can do it and stay chilled then it's probably good info to have for decision making - my younger sister has tested to work out if she can delay a bit longer.

@CinderRosie I'm 38, 39 in the autumn, so 40 is suddenly very much looming on the horizon! Nothing has ever made me feel so old as all the fertility graph googling I've been doing. Are you also thinking about your first, or do you already have any children? So many of my friends have discovered fertility issues in the last two or three years, or even had signs of an early perimenopause, I do think if you're in the right relationship then it's worth getting on it in regardless of the other factors. I'm sure I was 36 just yesterday, and 40 was still nearly half a decade away..

LeopardLover · 06/04/2023 22:19

@BatildaB I like to think I'd be chill but if I had low egg reserves I'd probably spiral so maybe it is best to avoid ha ha. We'll see! I definitely don't feel my age either (37)😊.

BatildaB · 06/04/2023 22:45

If you've had a child already I think that extends your fertility a bit right?

This article is quite cheering - How Long Can You Wait to Have a Baby? - The Atlantic. I do know quite a few people who are having problems, but I also have friends popping out babies merrily in their early 40s. I think the scary thing about waiting is more that you would have less time to keep trying or look at treatments if it does turn out there's any issues?

I'm going to do an impatient probably-too-early-anyway test tomorrow morning (9dpo) I think, although I've talked myself out of most of my probably imaginary symptoms.

How Long Can You Wait to Have a Baby?

Deep anxiety about the ability to have children later in life plagues many women. But the decline in fertility over the course of a woman’s 30s has been oversold. Here’s what the statistics really tell us—and what they don’t.

I have low AMH for my age and it is stressful but most women will be fertile into their 40s :) For me it has really affected how I think of my age, I’m only 34 but now think of myself as much older and practically menopausal even though I have no symptoms of peri menopause and hopefully won’t for a few years at least 😂 Am really working on my fitness as that helps me feel younger.

GingerJanee · 07/04/2023 08:04

Hi everyone, I took a wee break from the group because my obsession was getting a little out of control!

However, I’d a hen party last weekend and have felt exhausted all week with a dodgy stomach so took an ovulation test which was darker than I’d expect. AF is due Sunday, haf a little pink discharge last night so decided this morning to use my last HCG test.

please confirm I don’t have line eyes?? Promised my husband I’d only test from the day AF is due do I’ve no one to obsess with this over lol

@BatildaB this would be my second child, and DH’s first. I was a young mum first time round and DS is now a teenager. We are going to get on it next month. Even if it happens straight away which would be so lucky, we have 9 months to save/prepare!

CinderRosie · 07/04/2023 08:08

@GingerJanee that is a definite positive! No line eyes there! x

Hopingforno2in2023 · 07/04/2023 08:52

Definite positive, congrats ginger!

@BatildaB Thank you so much for sharing this! It's such a positive article. 😊 Good luck with the test!

@GingerJanee awww, congratulations! 🎊

GingerJanee · 07/04/2023 09:39

Thanks everyone very very optimistically cautious now to wait to Sunday to tell my OH….. if I can leave it to then 😂

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 10:35

@GingerJanee definitely positive! Congratulations

BatildaB · 07/04/2023 11:05

@GingerJanee Congratulations! Two days sounds like a long time to keep that news under wraps!

BatildaB · 07/04/2023 12:10

@Hopingforno2in2023 low AMH is a stress, but isn't it weird how thinking about fertility suddenly makes you feel about a decade older... I've been listening to the Huberman podcast episodes on fertility, and I really like the way he talks about all the practical steps to boost it that support general health as well.

@CinderRosie Yes, that's what I keep telling myself, 9 months is a long time to make some plans! Will it be a surprise to DS, or does he know it's on the cards? Fun to have such an age gap - My partner has a little brother who loves the idea that he might be an uncle while he's still in primary school (we didn't even tell him we're trying, he's just lobbying for it!)

CinderRosie · 07/04/2023 14:38

@BatildaB we haven’t openly told him we want to TTC, although I don’t think he’d find it a shock as in the last year we’ve got married and bought a bigger house so he might know it’s a possibility… however teenage boy brains probably don’t work like that 😂 I do wonder how he’d take the news, the dynamic has been this way for such a long time. I am however prone to overthinking everything...

Mummyme87 · 07/04/2023 15:21

My best friend had low AMH about 15yrs ago in her 20s. She’s got a 9yr old and now pregnant with her second age 39

NoodleQueen90 · 09/04/2023 06:59

I haven't posted here for while but wanted to come back as I got my BFP this morning 😁
It's early days but very excited! This was cycle 3 ttc no1 so it's a first for me.
Hope everyone is doing well and there are lots more BFPs!

@NoodleQueen90 What a lovely start to the day! Congratulations 🎊

LeopardLover · 09/04/2023 07:12

@GingerJanee How did your OH take it? ❤️

@BatildaB we're away for a wedding this weekend and I started the Huberman podcast late Friday night. Wow, it's so interesting! I thought I knew a lot about ovulation/ the menstrual cycle but obviously not. I'll probably need to listen to it at least twice! And slow the speed down as he speaks so quickly. But it's a great podcast, thanks for sharing!

NoodleQueen90 · 09/04/2023 07:21

Thank you @LeopardLover keeping my fingers crossed for you when you get going 🤞🏽

Hopingforno2in2023 · 09/04/2023 07:22

Congratulations Noodle!

Mummyme87 · 09/04/2023 08:22

@NoodleQueen90 congratulations!

9dpo here with nothing to report. No cm, normal sore boobs. Still holding out
