@TunnocksTCake I have everything crossed for you! I haven’t tested again but have a couple of tests arriving today and will test tomorrow AM with FMU. AF was due yesterday. My boobs have been sore today, milky white cm and hints of nausea. I’m nervous of another chemical and have also had a mc previously so don’t want to get ahead of myself… these symptoms could be AF related I know…

how are you feeling? X

TunnocksTCake · 28/02/2023 10:35

@Peasinapod1 I feel almost the same as you! Boobs are solid too, have been hurting a lot over the weekend and that has eased which worried me but they are definitely bigger. Feel nauseous on and off, tired, and have the same CM. I had 3 mcs when trying for my dd so super cautious but the symptoms do seem to be increasing (maybe it's in my head?!)
I will test again in the morning too 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Peasinapod1 · 28/02/2023 10:40

Eeeeesh I’m so nervous and excited for us both. Now need to try and distract ourselves for 24 hours. Let’s keep in touch. Xxx

GeekyMina · 28/02/2023 11:27

Hey! Thanks, unfortunately I saw your message late and only tested once yesterday. I tested again this morning and is not as dark I think (judge yourself), maybe I'm going crazy. Woke up with a terrible headache and photosensitivity and work it's making it worse. Will test again at lunch. I felt some mild cramps yesterday and disch. was watery. Did I miss my ovulation? 😭

Thanks for your guidance!! 💕

Hi, not sure if I’ve picked the right thread to post in as new here.

TTC first baby this year, 37 years old and been on the pill for 19 years! Mini pill for the last 7 of those. Took my last one yesterday.

Looking for some advice on where to start really, tracking periods, ovulation, best apps, supplements etc.

Any advice for a new start would be so greatly welcome ❤️

TunnocksTCake · 28/02/2023 14:42

@GeekyMina You may have missed it, it did look like it was going up on the previous one but I would keep testing - I think with strips you are better off doing it in the afternoon/ evening rather than the morning as the peak usually happens overnight but takes a while to shwo in urine. If youre new to it just keep testing until it completely disappears then over afew months you will have an idea of patterns. Good luck with Drs.

TunnocksTCake · 28/02/2023 14:47

@Edinnewmum Welcome! If you are just coming off the pill then it will take a while for your cycle to regulate but you can start tracking your period, and take any supplements you want to take (pre natal as a minimum) as they take a few months to build up in your system. If you want to start trying right away then I would use ovulation strips, be aware you may not see any patterns as such for the first few months after the pill but it will help you catch ovulation and time your efforts. Best to do the deed in days leading up to, and the day of ovulation. Premom is a good app which analyses your OPK strips and saves them so you can see the progression. One step/ easy at home on amazon are cheap strips that are easy to use.

Best of luck! any questions, please ask, there are lots of knowledeable people on here.

GeekyMina · 28/02/2023 16:00

Hey!! Yeah I defo think I missed it! Still will try in case the window is still open 👐 I took another test at noon and was definitely lighter. Will keep checking a bit more, my app still claims my ovulation day is tomorrow even after changing the parameters (Flo). I would appreciate any advice on any other app that works better for this, I just paid the yearly subscription but was super cheap (11£/year over Saint Valentine's sale) so won't cry if I lose it. I'm budgeting but can use my Netflix money for TTC 🤣🤣

I add pic. Hopefully the GP could give us a push

@Edinnewmum welcome!! Same age here and TTC for baby #2, #1 never came to terms so this is the first time for me to actively trying.

You can start by tracking your ovulation days with strips, basal temperature, checking discharge or a combo of them. I just missed my egg, it's sneaky ! Best of luck and baby dust! Everyone around here is very helpful 💕💕

TunnocksTCake · 28/02/2023 16:27

@Geekymina all of the apps will predict ovulation on CD 14 until they have information from you that proves you O on a different day, so if you've paid for it I would stick with Flo. I do find Fertility Friend good and Premom lets you take pics of OPKs and stores them for you. both are free

Peasinapod1 · 28/02/2023 16:38

@TunnocksTCake the tests arrived so of course I immediately caved. Think I can get cautiously excited!?

Would love to join after being a silent stalker on this thread!

On CD16 and DTD on Sunday night. Got what I thought was a peak yesterday using some cheapie OPK so very intrigued to see. This is our 2nd cycle trying so not expecting much but was cleared of PCO today after being diagnosed with it 7 years ago which has made me a lot brighter!!

fingers crossed for everyone on this thread!! 🥰

Hi all! Thought I'd jump on here😊

First time ttc as of January. I hold my hands up and say I went in naive and presumed it would happen straight away but here we are 2 cycles down, which is fine! I will also be honest and say that my plan was to hold off trying during March and April to avoid Dec and Jan birthdays.... but have quickly realised that having a 'perfect plan' with this isn't going to be the way forward.

Am going to use Ov kit for the next round as I was using an app which tbh, I don't think is accurate.

Good luck everyone!

PS. I'm 32 and had my copper coil removed in November

TunnocksTCake · 01/03/2023 06:52

@Peasinapod1 line fainter on my frer this morning, now I'm 2 days late so hoping it resolves itself soon. Must have caught a chemical ☹️

Peasinapod1 · 01/03/2023 08:35

Thank you guys xx I’m just of course worrying constantly now. Feeling more confident feels a long way off! I’m just going to try my best to be positive. @TunnocksTCake have you tested yet this morning? I have everything crossed for you lovely. Xxx

MrsTe3 · 01/03/2023 08:52

Hi there, posting for the first time so hope I am in the right place!

I'm 29 (30 this weekend) and have been off the pill for 8 months but stopped using contraception 4 months ago and then started tracking ovulation 2 cycles ago. I was definitely naive enough to think it would happen straight away and to be honest am finding it all very overwhelming and consuming. I have both the FLO app and Natural Cycles which both tell me different ovulation dates and in February I seemed to have over 10 days of varying double lines on OPK strips 🙃 🤯

My cycles are usually regular at 27/28 days but I am currently on day 30 and no sign of AF. My boobs are hurting like mad and I keep having random cramps but had a BFN on my test today. However if I ovulated on day 22 which is what my Natural Cycles app is saying then I am only 7DPO which might then be too early to test? Yet I am late for AF! As I said, feeling very confused.

What methods would everyone recommend as I think I am over complicating things for myself? If this cycle isn't ours then I am keen to try to keep things as simple as possible this month.

Thank you in advance and sorry for the huge ramblings!!

mummytoemilia · 01/03/2023 08:58

@MrsTe3 I would say wait until at the very least 9dpo... even then it could still be early for you. Some implantation can take up to 14 days.
Seeing as your AF is late I would take that as a good sign🤞🏼
As you ovulated late you wouldn't test positive yet at only 7DPO as baby is most likely only implanting around today. xx

mummytoemilia · 01/03/2023 09:00

@MrsTe3 also count DPO from the day AFTER your ovulation day. A lot of people get confused with this and class ovulation day as day1 when in fact it's the day after thats day 1 xx

Ttcsecond · 01/03/2023 09:05

My test from this morning at 12dpo. It’s darker than yesterday but still super faint like last months chemical.

newjourney21 · 01/03/2023 11:54

Hi all! Can I join? I think I'm 1dpo so let the tww begin! I am 27 TTC#1. I have long cycles and ovulated I think yesterday on CD30, I had my peak LH yesterday and it's dropped today. Dtd on CD26,27,28. Not ideal but my partner went away for work on monday! Hopefully it was enough 🙏 anyone else just starting their tww?

ukMummyof1 · 01/03/2023 12:10

@Ttcsecond my first test at 11dpo was sooo faint so I wouldn't worry too much- especially if it's already darker within a day. Levels double in 48 hours so test again tomorrow xxx

@Peasinapod1 I replied before you this morning, I've definitely had a chemical, basically negative this morning and af has now arrived too. ☹️

@MrsTe3 it sounds like your cycles are still regulating a bit, it can take a while to get a pattern. If you ovd on cd 22 then you won't be due af until 10-14 days after that, so you're still early. Most people's luteal ohase (ovulation to af) is the same each month so try to track that over the months then you will have a better idea of when af is due each month, good luck!
