after falsely getting my hopes up with an evap last cycle, I’m determined to wait until I miss my period this time and (hopefully) get a good strong BFP rather than spending days analysing squinters!

would anyone like to join me? 🤞🏻 🍀

Would like to join! I’m due my period a week today. Really hoping not to test early. No 2 for me … have a 19 month old

Welcome aboard! Post whenever you get that pesky urge to test early! Here’s hoping you get our first BFP! ✨

@Donutworryaboutit I'm the same, my temps rise just above the cover line but not significantly like some charts I've seen. I have wondered what it means too. If it's stressing you then might be better to stop temping after O

Welcome @LauraA31 !

Oh I so get you about the disappointment and upset of early tests 😒 I got a very faint line last month which just spurred me on to buy more tests, I think I spent around £25! It cannot go on! I also know a faint positive at 9dpo wouldn’t actually be a proper ‘Yay, BFP!’ moment - I would be really anxious until I’d missed my period and got a stronger line.

i also have a 26 day cycle, which day do you normally ovulate can I ask?

@Wouldloveanother Thank you for the welcome! 🙂

Last month we got a faint line on a clearblue, we got two lines in two days and then nothing. I got so exited and then AF arrived days later, looking back they could have been evap lines, but the disappointment was awful!
I am the same, I would worry that a faint positive wouldn’t be enough (after the first month) so think it’s best to wait this time haha, plus the money spent is so much to waste!

The last two months i have ovulated on CD12, showing this month on the app to ovulate CD12 too. How about you?x

Lilacmintgreen · 25/07/2022 08:39

I think the blue tests are quite notorious for false positives. I’m sticking to first response.

MamaSJ15 · 25/07/2022 08:49

@Wouldloveanother thank you, I've had another lady say those tests are good. Will probably order some once I've started with the boots ones. Even now I'm still not pushing myself to use them though, I like the idea of just DTD when we feel like it and not stress about when ovulation occurs, but of course, in reality the stress arrives when you don't know if you ovulated when you thought you did and did we DTD the enough etc etc. We really do try to keep as casual as possible!

FRER is really good but I find it tempts me to test early, because I know they’re very sensitive. I’ve also seen so many negative FRERs now, and they’re so expensive, that I’ve got a bit of a grudge against them (lol). I’ve figured if we’re waiting for missed period then Boots or Superdrug tests should give a clear result, and cheaper!

Hey! Sorry to jump on this late, but I'm trying to do the same thing... but I'm 2dpo so have ages and need to keep distracted haha!

Nichelette · 26/07/2022 13:08

@H1994 Welcome!

Am symptom spotting now despite being unconvinced. Have had lower back ache for 3 days and I'm getting grumpy at almost everything when I'm usually pretty relaxed. Due Sunday/Monday time so not too long to go!

H1994 · 26/07/2022 13:11

@Nichelette Thank you!

You got this... fingers crossed for you! my symptoms (if any) will start Sunday Monday... so woo!

daydreamingnightowl · 26/07/2022 19:48

@Nichelette I'm also symptom spotting now and have had lower back ache for a few days as well as dizziness and some twinges. I usually get terrible pms and can be very moody, but actually I am the opposite this month and feel a little emotional which is very much not me!!

I have internet cheapies around but googling how useless they are is helping me resist...only a few more days to go!

Unless i wake up with af tomorrow and then I'll be devastated! Oh god, why do we do this to ourselves.

Wouldloveanother · 26/07/2022 20:43

sounds like we may have the first BFPs of the thread soonish!

welcome @H1994 ! The wait begins - if you get an urge to test, post!

@daydreamingnightowl ive had the same, ive been in a great mood whereas normally I’m a bit grumpy 🤔 I did so much symptom spotting last cycle though and it didn’t result in anything so trying not to over think ☹️

bring on the 2 lines!!

H1994 · 26/07/2022 20:45

@Wouldloveanother that's such a good idea 👀😅 I will post if I feel an urge... I've been pretty good this evening tbh, just letting myself be and trying to look after myself (as we all should always anyways!)

Nichelette · 26/07/2022 21:19

@daydreamingnightowl I was very light headed yesterday afternoon too. It's silly because I'm so convinced it's a no! Funny story, but despite being on here I've only ever taken one test in my life because I was quite late with DS and not obsessive like now. Got a pack of 3 clear blue and still have 2 left. Expire October so something had better happen soon 😂

Nichelette · 26/07/2022 21:20

@daydreamingnightowl forgot to say also resist! It will be so much more satisfying to get a strong positive and not be squinting at them!

TheBirdintheCave · 26/07/2022 21:22

I think I ovulated this past weekend. Either Friday or Saturday. I had EWCM for days but its now just weirdly watery so... who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I normally get a strong ovulation pain but this month just had twinges. Going to see if I can convince my husband to DTD tonight as well just in case 😂

I don't know when official test day should be. I can normally predict my AF to the day based on the ovulation pain so now I'm in the dark 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I guess Saturday 6th?

Do we have anyone testing this week?

TinyPuds · 26/07/2022 21:47

Evening team! hope you don’t mind if I join in? AF was due yesterday, last week I had really achey dull cramping (like bad period cramps but a bit earlier than I would usually have them) and this evening I’ve had a stabbing pain in the lower left side of my pelvis 😅 it lasted a few seconds and happened a few times while I was making dinner.

I had my first baby not long ago (September!) and my periods returned a couple of months ago and have been pretty much on time. But I’m keeping an open mind that maybe I was just lucky with those cycles and this one’s a bit of a longer one as I know periods are supposed to be a bit all over the place when they come back.

Currently googling all of the implantation stories of sharp one-sided pinching and trying my best not to order 173834749 boxes of FR tests 😂 not necessarily ttc but not using any birth control (good ol pull out method 😅) and husband and I are open to welcoming anything unplanned happening as we want more children in the future anyway.

Has anybody else had sharp pinching on one side? Or had it when their period is due? Xx

daydreamingnightowl · 27/07/2022 06:14

Morning - so af has come with a vengeance over night. Gutted, convinced myself that I had all the symptoms!

Nevermind, onwards to the next cycle and baby dust to you all, I'll keep lurking.

Coco2021 · 27/07/2022 08:09

@ddaydreamingnightowl sorry to hear AF has arrived, but chin up and onto next month! ❤️✨🤞

Nichelette · 27/07/2022 12:06

@daydreamingnightowl

Nichelette · 27/07/2022 12:07

Sorry posted too early. Hopefully next month is better 🤞🏻

Wouldloveanother · 27/07/2022 12:15

@TheBirdintheCave im the 6th as well! We can be testing twins! 😊

welcome Puds! I honestly can’t remember my symptoms with DD beyond being emotional and a bit dizzy. I’ve had a stabbing pain around 3dpo this month so will be interesting to see what comes of it, if anything. How old are your kids?

@daydreamingnightowl oh that’s annoying ☹️ you are now entitled to spend what would’ve been the test money on a little gift for yourself! Let us know what you buy if you do 😊 I’m thinking my gift this month would be an exfoliating mitt and a ‘decent’ (aka not from Superdrug) mascara.

I’m having my first major test wobble today - 7dpo! I think it’s because I see 8 as the earliest I could get a positive and I’m on the brink of that… but determined to miss my period first which is due on the 4th.

OP posts:
MamaSJ15 · 27/07/2022 21:27

@Wouldloveanother you can do it! 😃 We'll get you through to the 4th without testing!!
I think ovulation is on its way for me. DTD twice this week so fingers crossed it's soon 🤞

Nichelette · 28/07/2022 09:13

Still have back ache and now I've got discomfort in uterus area too. No sore boobs which was a giveaway last time. Why are PMS symptoms so like pregnancy ones 😭
