after falsely getting my hopes up with an evap last cycle, I’m determined to wait until I miss my period this time and (hopefully) get a good strong BFP rather than spending days analysing squinters!

would anyone like to join me? 🤞🏻 🍀

@Wouldloveanother I'm CD12 so hope to O sometime in the next week or so :)

Let us know how you get on!
does everyone want to pop their testing dates in so I can keep track of us? 😊

daydreamingnightowl · 19/07/2022 07:23

Cycle is usually 28 days so I have a slightly shorter luteal phase, but it was the same with my first pregnancy and didn't seem to cause any issues so fingers crossed for this time too!

How long was your complete cycle after ovulating on day 9?

To add to the list, I'll be testing from 29th if no sign of af!

How old is your first? Mine is just coming up to 15 months xx

Wouldloveanother · 19/07/2022 07:39

It was 25 days - I always have a 15 day luteal phase, without fail, with a shorter follicular phase. She’s 3 😊 wish i had started trying when she was 18 months or so but wasn’t possible for various reasons!

@Wouldloveanother I'm usually a bog standard 28 days, occasionally 27, but 25 was very early for me (and disappointing 😂). I've stuck my dates into Premom & Flo. Premom thinks I ovulated yesterday and Flo thinks it was Saturday. My gut thinks Premom is more accurate again. Tempted to attempt tonight based on CM in case it's later but not sure I can deal with the heat. Will probably test on 3rd/4th August if no AF.

Wouldloveanother · 19/07/2022 17:56

I’m usually 26-27 days so was unusual for me as well. I’ve also seen a few other posters have oddly short cycles last month - something in the water maybe?!

OP posts:
MarmaRell78 · 19/07/2022 19:55

@Wouldloveanother I'm sure I'm short this month too! Pretty sure I ov'd much earlier than usual and have been spotting for the last 10 days 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

daydreamingnightowl · 20/07/2022 13:19

Argh this bbt measuring was much easier when ttc the 1st time. Now I'm up at random times in the night especially with the heat to settle baby and then last night i fell asleep whilst measuring and the beeping of the thermometer woke me up and I had my mouth open so temp was really low.

I really don't have a good idea of when I ovulated but would guess it was CD16 as temp first rose CD17 but I'm not convinced how accurate I've been.

How's everyone else doing?

MamaSJ15 · 20/07/2022 13:22

Hello, I definitely want to join this thread! I've had a very strange cycle so far but because of miscarriage a couple of cycles ago I have a box if cheapie tests in (which I've never done before) but it makes it too easy to test!
AF is currently here, but I had about 4 days of brown spotting before AF arrived properly so I wasn't sure which day to class as CD1 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm going with today as CD6, but AF has been a bit odd and just very consistent, didn't seem to want to slow down but fingers crossed today it is. I've never done OPK before but bought a couple of boxes of boots own so gonna try that this cycle to confirm ovulation. When should I start?
Sorry for long post!!

Wouldloveanother · 20/07/2022 20:59

Hi MamaS! Welcome to this thread full of willpower and hopefully strong BFPs in a few weeks! ✨

i would count your first day of ‘full flow’ as CD1. I would start taking the opks as soon as it’s finished, just to get a really complete idea of your cycle. I use second morning wee, a 2 hour or so hold seems to produce good results for me. Not sure if you’re aware but you can buy them really cheap off Amazon? Like £10 for 50 or so. I’ve found them to be every bit as reliable as the shop bought ones.

good luck and keep us posted 🤞🏻

Wouldloveanother · 20/07/2022 21:22

@daydreamingnightowl ive never temped, there seems to be way too much room for that kind of error if you’re often up in the night which I am (medical condition). Have you been using opks?

CD13 here and I’m fairly certain ovulation happened yesterday/today. Planning to persuade DH to dtd one last time tonight although in all fairness he doesn’t take an awful lot of persuading!

my testing date is 6th August - due AF on the 4th but want to wait for it to be ‘properly’ late and the 6th is a Saturday, which feels better for some reason. Please pop in your testing date if you have one so we can keep our eyes on the prize! 📆

I'm CD14 now and started getting EWCM yesterday so should O in the next couple of days :D Exciting times! We're going back to Liverpool (my home town) tomorrow and staying for a week with my parents so that should kill some time haha.

Hope everyone is holding out and keeping away from those tests!

Wouldloveanother · 21/07/2022 08:59

Hey Bird! Oooh will you be able to DTD at your parents house? 😱

1dpo here; and the wait begins! It’s DD’s birthday next week so that should keep me busy for a while, it will be the week after that (8dpo onwards) that I will find it difficult to hold out I think - but I’m determined to stay strong!

Hey ladies can I please join? I am cycle day 16 of cycle 7 TTC, however we did have Covid very very badly so going by all the info on the internet and how it affected 2 of my cycles I suspect we have to write off 3 of those months for sperm recovery 😕 we had a chemical cycle 5. I am 5dpo today losing all hope tbh.... but trying to remain calm. I've been pregnant twice when very young. My OH has 2 teenage children from a previous marriage. We will be waiting until end sept then starting tests privately I think. I won't test until AF actually late. Due 30th/31st july so hoping she doesn't show her ugly face although I suspect she will!

Wouldloveanother · 21/07/2022 13:14

Hi Angie, good to have you on board! We had covid back in April - I had no idea covid sperm was a ‘thing’! We took that month off ttc as it didn’t feel right trying with active covid for some reason. Did you have covid symptoms? DH coughed twice and that was it, I had what felt like a very bad head cold. Fingers crossed that your period doesn’t show up!

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 21/07/2022 13:32

Hey @Wouldloveanother and thank you 😊 yeah unfortunately it takes sperm 3 months to recover completely but I believe if you have more symptoms it's takes the longer timescale and less symptoms the damage to sperm is a lot less! We had horrendous symptoms unfortunately and OH was extremely bad so I would expect him to have taken the full 3 months for sure!!

TheBirdintheCave · 21/07/2022 15:22

@Wouldloveanother Haha yeah that's never bothered us 😂Fortunately our bedrooms aren't connected.

MamaSJ15 · 21/07/2022 18:32

@Wouldloveanother thank you 😊 will take a look at Amazon 😊 how many do you usually use each cycle? And how do they work? I'll obviously read the leaflet but thought I'd ask for experience haha.

I'm on CD7 today and based on 28 day cycle would say AF due 12th Aug so will test 13th if not arrived.

daydreamingnightowl · 21/07/2022 20:03

@Wouldloveanother I tried opks last time but I found it stressed me out, a bit like the disappointment when poas.

I feel nauseous and achy tummy today which are usually signs af is on the way so I feel like I'm out already! I'm on CD 22 and my cycles are usually 28 days so I think I need to stop trying to guess when I ovulated and just go with that.

I use about 15 over the course of a cycle - I start testing around CD6, and test a couple times a day from day 10-14 to make sure I catch the surge 😊 I can recommend the light blue easy@home ones - £8 for 20 I think.

im 3dpo today. 14 days to go! Trying not to symptom spot, it’s essentially pointless.

Can I join? 🥰
I'm 28 and first month TTC number 1 with hubby. I stopped the progesterone only pill and had withdrawal bleed 13-17 July - so for this month I'm counting that I am around CD 10 or so.
Last year I had MMC and went back on the pill again until I felt ready. But for that cycle I only had my pill withdrawal bleed and then got a BFP 3 weeks later. Cautiously hoping for the same again 🤞💗

How is everyone feeling? It's nice to have ladies to talk about this stuff with. Xx

Wouldloveanother · 22/07/2022 10:16

Welcome aboard Coco! Hopefully this thread will be lucky for you ✨ are you tracking ovulation or just seeing how it goes?
im a bit nervous if I’m honest. Cycle 2 for me but I’m in a hurry to conceive, so I’ve done everything & thrown the kitchen sink at it! Just hoping it’s worked…

OP posts:
Coco2021 · 22/07/2022 10:20

@Wouldloveanother for this month I'm just DTD regularly (every other day) and will see what happens. However I have ordered opks for next month in anticipation of not being lucky twice haha.
Are you doing opks and bbt? xo

daydreamingnightowl · 22/07/2022 17:09

It would make me 9dpo, so entering the danger zone of wanting to test! I will resist!

I know it's all just in my head, but I really don't feel like this is the month. We are also in a hurry and have a bit of a time limit on how long we will try. I don't know if that's going to make things harder!

@Coco2021 I also came off the progesterone only pill both times ttc and first time I fell pregnant the cycle after my period returned. Not sure I will be so lucky this time xx
