AF due 21st. Should I have any symptoms by now if I am?

preggers of course.

Really hoping I am but am trying not to get too excited at the same time.

Got morning sickness real bad with ds1, but not with ds2.

Well, depends really...some women have sort of exaggerated af symptoms, pretty much straight after conceptions...others don't really feel any different then as if they were getting af...

Morning sickness is not something you necessarily have to the same extent/at all in every pg

LoveAngel · 16/01/2008 18:10

I'm the same. AF due on the 20th and hoping so much that I am pregnant. Got no symptoms at all either way though (yet). The difficulty with me is that last time my early pregnancy symptoms are exactly the same as my pre-menstrual symptoms - sore breasts, achy abdomen, tiredness, slight nausea. So confusing!

BabyBump2B · 16/01/2008 22:37

Hi I'm new around here but just had to jump in! I'm due AF on the 21st too but have very tender fuller boobs, am exhausted and have headaches... can test tomorrow so tres anxious and just want today to be over with!

Flum · 16/01/2008 22:43

Oooh lets have a mini club I'm due maybe 22nd or 23rd.

don't feel preggers though. this would be third pregnancy and I vividly remember a few days before period due that I knew I was pregnant. The symptom was boobs so swollen and sore in the morning I literally had to hold on to them and 'carry' them for first five minutes getting up.

Not got that though, don't feel tired, or sick.

Do feel like a cigarette though.

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 17/01/2008 00:25

I have been more moody and have had headaches most days come the evening, but not tonight. I cannot believe I have done this twice before and can't remember what I felt like.

I am pretty sure I had huger swollen boobs though both times a while before the test.

I don't evenhave a test in the house yet as if I did, I would just use it now and end this suffering, lol, I am going to calmy pack the kids into the buggy and stroll on down to the chemist on Monday.

Tests usually bring on AF then this wondering will be over....

no dont be daft

you might have symptoms thsi early, but probably not. lots of women dont feel pg at all for weeks. swollen boobs, morning sickness etc often dont come until week 6 or 8.

in my (limited) experience, the most reliabel sign of being Pg is ruing to the loo all the time in case your AF has started because you feel so pre- menstrual

just do the test as soon as you can. and good luck

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 08:14

Gosh KristinaM you have just described me to a T!!

This is my first months of trying for #1. I think AF was due yesterday, or possibly today, and I am spending my life rushing to the loo because I think it's going to happen but then no sign of it!

I have had cramping feelings for over a week now which is unusual for me, only normally get them when AF arrives) but I have got sore lumpy left boob today (which is very normal for me).

I soo want to be pg but know it's highly unlikely on month 1 (especially with the current big endo cyst I have at the mo too! Not to mention my age - 38!)

Is this what happened to you? Did you have typical AF symptoms but then turn out to be pregnant?

LadyOfTheCauliFlowers · 17/01/2008 10:07

The first time I got pregnant was within the first month of actively trying. I then had a missed miscarriage and bought myself an ovulation kit as I was absolutley on a mission to get pregnant again straight away.

DS1 was concieved within the month following the MC using the ovulation tests.

DS2 was concieved whilst BF'ing DS1 when DS1 was 4 months old. We honestly didn't think at the time it would happen so quickly! lol

I felt as I normally would at day 28 of my cycle. Quite premenstrual but not excessively so, no more than usual, but I am sure i had the boobs too, which I don't usually get as part and parcel of AF coming on.

Thanks LadyOfTheCauliFlowers That's exactly how I'm feeling.

Similar to pre AF feelings but not quite identical IYKNIM.

am going to try and hold ou testing until teh weekend (assuming AF hasn't arrived by then) as caved in on Monday and did a test and it was obviously a BFN. don't want teh disappointment again yet, would rather carry on blissfully unaware and hoping!

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 10:13

please excuse my typos - must type slower and check!

KristinaM · 17/01/2008 10:20

eleveld - i conceived on the second month of trying at age 40, had a early m/c and thouight "oh well thats it"

conceived again the next month and had healthy baby

then conceived again ( without trying, after one forgetful moment ) when that baby was 8 mo and i was 41. So its perfectly possibel you are pg!!!

i absolutely could not believe I was PG. You read so much doom and gloom about TTC after 35, i thought i had no chance. So getting PG immediatly 3 times in my 40s seemed a bit unlikely. Thats why i stay off the TTC boards as i feel a bit

KristinaM · 17/01/2008 10:22

lady - you make me feel better...at least we "waited" until baby was 8 mo. i was Bf too!!

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 10:23

Oh thanks so much KristinaM you've brightened my day.

Have just been thinking that with my age and endo my chances are pretty slim at best.

Am desperate for this to happen, the overwhelming desire to be pregnant has just taken over me!

OnACaffieneHigh · 17/01/2008 10:26

Ooo can I join the club? I'm due my af around then

Though I'm not expecting to succeed as this is my first month ttc.

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 10:31

Welcome OnACaffieneHigh

My first month too (for number 1)

Pinkali37 · 17/01/2008 11:11

Hi

I'm new to this site but am loving being able to read other peoples stories that are so similar to mine.

Eleveld, I have severe endometriosis and have had 2 ops to clear adhesions. Am on 2nd course of clomid and 'think' i have been ovulating this week so have been acting like bunnies! Irregular periods anyway but hopefully the clomid will make it all nice and regular and so the next period will NOT come. Have already had 1 miscarriage before starting clomid (was waiting for period to start so that i could start the first course). Worse news for me is today my sister has just informed me that she is 10.5 weeks pregnant. NOT FAIR.

Pinkali37 · 17/01/2008 11:12

Oops meant to put Elevand I know exactly how you feel... typing too quickly at work.

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 11:15

Hi Pinkali37

sorry to hear that you had to hear that from your sister (obviously pleased for her though).

I am confused now as last night my consultant told me that as I have endometriosis this means I am definitely ovulating??

LoveAngel · 17/01/2008 11:46

Eleveld - you never know! I had serious AF symtoms with my son and was convinced I was going to come on any minute. I didn't get a positive preg test until my period was a week late, either. Morning sickness etc didn't kick in until 5-6 weeks into pregnancy.

Pinkali37 · 17/01/2008 11:57

Hi Eleveld,

I don't believe that having endo means that you definitely are or not ovulating. I have had sooo many tests done that say I do ovulate, sometimes P isn't as high as it could be thought. Clomid should hopefully make it better !! I am under a fantastic consultant who has done sooo much for me. My husband and I nearly started private IVF but my consultant told me he didn't see the need quite yet and that I should give clomid a try.

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 12:00

I have to seemy consultant again in 2/3 months (normally have a scan every 6 but as this cyst is back up to 6 or 7 cm he wants to do another one earlier).

so if nothing has happened by then on teh pg front I will discuss these sort of things with him

thanks for the info

do you mind me asking how old you are (no probs if I'm being too nosey!)

Pinkali37 · 17/01/2008 12:12

i'm 28. Diagnosed at 26 but with NO classic symptoms. Dr's were shocked that I had lived so long with the pain, plus that I had such a severe case. They didn;t have a clue. How old are you?

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 12:40

hi

I'm ten years older, 38

So it's late in life anyway for me to be trying for first (unfortunately never been in the right situation before to try for kids).

It took years for me to be diagnosed too - kept mentioning the pain to the doctor but they just kept saying Oh it's just bad PMT. Eventually got referred to a specialist who diagnosed it by just talking to me! And then confirmed with scans/laparoscopy.

I had laparoscopy 3 years ago to drain a cyst but then had to have laparotomy (spelling?) two years ago to cut two cysts out as they were two big to do by laparoscopy.

Now have got another cyst which is about 6cm.

One positive thing he did say when he did the laparotomy is that he didn't see any scar tissue or damage to the tubes. So I'm hoping that's something really good?

Do you get cysts?

Loveangel - thanks for your message, I love hearing encouraging stories like that!

EllieL · 17/01/2008 12:42

Me too - due around 21st. Feeling sick and today milky tea was yuk (though black tea was fine - milk def wasn't off). Is this a sign?
