Any1 else on clomid?

This is my 2nd month and i find it weird that my period only lasted for 4 days when it always lasts for 7 days, is that normal with clomid?x

Nandos - I am preg on 3rd round of Clomid. I also got really bad hot flushes on month 1 & 3 but not on month 2 which strangely was the month the blood test for prog levels showed I hadn't ovulated. I really hope all works out for you.

I went to Doc today and he getting me booked in for a 6 week scan (so in 2 weeks). He also asked how many tests i had taken, i said one so he asked me to do another. Subsequently spent all bloody day (as had a whole list of jobs to do out and about)worrying and have just taken test and thank the lord it is still POSITIVE... Blimey Doctors worry me.

Nando - don't worry abotu ages just relax. I have severe severe endometriosis and was told I would NEVER conceive naturally and I am 30 at the end of this year. MY husband is 49 tomorrow and had a vasectomy reversal which was succesful but only with 33% good sperm (rest were those naughty antibody ones) so we have been fighting the odds but have actually managed to conceive twice although one ended in m/c last oct we pray this one is successful. xx

Hi pinkali,hope u r doing well in your pregnancy I feel better when u talked abt your age because I feel like I am gonna be an old mom
btw i am overseas at the moment so could not find any ovulation predictor kit here, only preg kit so had to go back to ancient times to find when i ovulate by checking the CM LOL. I got EWCM but is it a definite sign that I am ovulating /have ovulated? Also cramping is there when i got the EWCM..

Hi Nandos - So sorry but what is EWCM... I didn't use any sort of kit I just gave the hudband a wink EVERY night. Actually it was every other...

EWCM is eggwhite CM..well resembles like one but the pain on my left side is still not going away.
It seems like endless days for the 2WW this time ..time goes by so slowly

It certainly does !! Every day is painful when you're TTC. I could never tell when I was ovulating. A bit of pain maybe but no noticeable EWCM

I think the clomid is making me ovulate late..thats why im only 3DPO..

Nando - PPL? So sorry, what does that mean? On my 1st month of Clomid and i'm not sure if I ovulated as was away so didn't have blood test BUT hot flushes were quite bad, following that my period started on day 33. They can be anything up to 45 after operations for Endo. After 2nd Month when i know I didn't ovulate as on day 21 prog level was 1.0 and hot flushes weren't that bad, i started day 39. This 3rd month and still on 50mg I tested BFP on day 27 which would mean my period was due to start very shortly afterwards. Don't dispair you will get there. I'm still shocked at my BFP and feel that every day is a blessing. I can assure you that I had had many a day and night in floods of tears thinking I was never going to have my own children. I did start Acupunture this month too !! Not sure if it helped but I can assure you it did make me relax a little more, so that may be worth trying??? xxx

Ha ha... I think my only symptom so far of being preg is the nutty head... SORRY..

So going back to your previosu comment, I think there are a lot of people trying to conceive using Clomid. I was one of them. I found it difficult to hear people conceiving on their 1st month of it, I just kept thinking my 6 months would be up and then we would have to look at alternatives. Funny enough, in the middle of my cycle (3rd round) I rang my doctors and got a repeat prescription and they gave me the next 3 months worth at 100mg (so upping the dose from 50mg). Funnily enough I then found out I was preg.

I was prescribed 50mg last month but was too late in my cycle to start it. Just had spotting today so looks like I'll be starting it in a couple of days time. I'm quite apprehensive- anything I know about it is from what I've read on here, the doctor just gave me the prescription and told me to come back to have bloods taken on day 21 .

Spotting Pootleflump? Is that nromal for you? Could be a sign !!! If not, think positive thoughts as you take your clomid. Has he recommended day 2-6????

I'm afraid spotting is sure sign of AF- I spot 4-5 days before it comes. The doctor said days 1-5 but when I got to the pharmacy she asked me if there was a reason for that cause it's normally 2-6. She phoned the doctor then changed it to days 2-6 .

My doc put days 1-5 but my consultant said days 2-6. Good Luck with it. Don;t forget that day 2 is the 2nd day following proper blood (sound strange but some people (inc me initially) don't actually know which is day 1. also my tip is try and take them at the same time each day. Hot flushes are a good sign too cos each time I had bad hot flushes and on day 21 it showed i had ovulated whereas on my 2nd month the flushes weren't really that bad and I didn't ovulate. That's not proven science but that is how it worked for me. I would also recommend starting acupuncture, I did thisfor my 3rd month and it kept me calmer than usual so I can highly recommend it. It provides an alternative way to think about things (and trust me i'm not usually into this sort of thing). I wish you the world of luck xxxx

Just wanted to share my story with you. I’ve been trying to conceive now for 15 months. I have PCOS and had really irregular periods so my consultant put me on clomid. First 2 months my bloods showed that I didn’t ovulate but third month I did so I think I’m now ovulating. But I get terrible hot flushes and such bad thrush. Literally have it every other week and have to use about 4 pessarys a month. So we’re not even getting that much opportunity to have sex as I’m always trying to get rid of the thrush. So frustrating! After 5 months on clomid my periods are still pretty irregular and not conceived yet. So my consultant has told me to stop taking clomid and now I’m on metformin instead. Here’s hoping..... I’m 35 so I can’t have free ivf on the nhs. Starting to get really down about the whole thing :( hope to have more luck on the metformin....

@Nem35 this is a zombie thread which hasn't been used in over a decade. If you start your own there are many women on here (myself included) who have used both clomid and metformin and would be happy to support you.
