i think that it is so expensive to go on diets!!

so any symptoms today then????
i swear i have turned into a baby making freak!!!!

fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:13

No nothing, Just feel really bloated still. I've cut down on bread and I'm drinking loads of water. My body's gone mad. I was also a bit headachy today - felt a little dizzy. I think AF's coming. Maybe my cycles are returning to normal at last.
How about you? any symptoms?

Hello. I've been lurking for a while but have noticed a number of other new joiners today, so thought I'd step up too.

My DH and I are TTC #1 and are now on our third cycle. I THINK I'm on CD 21 today and 4 dpo. (Impressed with how fluent I am in the lingo already.....)

I haven't used opks or temps yet. I've been reading Zita West's book and think I've been able to follow the signs of ovulation from what she's written. (I finally worked out what EWCM meant today!)

It's been great to read of other people's experiences on here. I've not discussed this with any of my friends or family yet, so it'll be good to chat with people on here when things get fraught!

Best wishes to all!

07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:16

Hi sam Fruitloop I've just finished watching cook yourself slim. It all seems very nice but where are we supposed to find the time to cook all of that food. It's my first weigh in at Slimming World tomorrow night to see if I lost anything last wk. I was doing great until today when I hit the chocolate biscuits, damn

CD2 so very boring for me. Persona monitor set up for the morning and just a few days until action stations again!

07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:19

Hi Treats Good luck and welcome. If you don't know what we are talking about never be afraid to ask, sometimes it's like a foreign language. I'll add you to the list.

fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:25

Hi treats Welcome to our Very lucky thread!

Evening MTW! good luck with your weigh in tomorrow Do you think you've done well?

Will this be your first time using Persona?

OP posts:
07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:27

sam Slimming world is about food optimising, to a certain degree you can't mix protein and carbs in the same day. Very boring! but then aren't all diets! I'm hoping for a BFP so I have an excuse to eat for two.....I know I know that is just a myth!

07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:30

I'm not sure about the slimming, after 6 chocolate biscuits I feel I've put it all back on again

Yes it's the first time of using Persona. I'm sure after the first few uses it will be easy but these things always seem so complicated to start with and if you get it wrong it can mess up your whole month. This is really a trial month I will continue using OPK's and BD as necessary

sambrads · 15/01/2008 21:31

HAHA HAHAHAHAHA i like the way you think mumstheword!!!

i also want to ask you about the monitor is it any good????
i dont no if i can afford one!!

i wish the doc supplied you with one if you were having problems!!!

fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:31

Oh I've just realised MTW it's Slimming World you're doing. I did that last year. I had a stone to lose. Lost the 1st half but I couldnt lose anymore and got fed up with it. Then I decided not to bother at all if planning on being PG - didn't realise it would take this long and have put another 10 lbs on! eek!

It's a great diet if you've got loads to lose but I found I ate lots of processed stuff. Those Hi-fi's are delicious!

OP posts:
fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:33

What's the benefit of using a monitor compared with the regular sticks?

OP posts:
07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:34

Yeah the orange HI-Fi's are lovely. It does go a bit against the grain to eat processed foods as healthy eating to me has been porridge, avocado and hummous etc but I'm not allowed that I'll try it for a bit and see how I get on.

07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:38

To be honest I'm not sure! Everyone I've heard of having a monitor seems to fall PG within the first couple of months or even before they get a chance to use the thing! so I'm hoping that it is just sods law that kicks in.

From what I've read I think it will tell me my most fertile days prior to OV too so I can make sure I'm bd'ing early to make sure the little swimmers are there ready for the egg to hatch and during OV for optimum chances. I'll have to let you know.

sambrads · 15/01/2008 21:42

well ladies im going for some bd-ing as i dont want to miss any time i ahve left this month!!!!

oh i so hope were on the graduats list!!!!!!

fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:45

yeah, I'd love to know how you get on with the monitor. I've been thinking about getting a second hand ebay jobby.

Sam we defo need to be pg at the same time. Might as well keep our similarities going!

OP posts:
fruitloop79 · 15/01/2008 21:47

Sam BD like you've never Bd's before! ha ha

OP posts:
07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 21:48

Enjoy the rest of your evening sam

Fruitloop Will keep you informed of monitor progress. It might get chucked out the window if it's as complicated at 7am tomorrow morning as it was at 11am this morning.

mibbes · 15/01/2008 21:49

Sorry to post this on such a positive thread but tested tonight as couldn't wait any longer and got BFN . Have no idea what is going on with my body as seemed to have several symptoms and haven't been this late before.
Emmsy you are very late, fingers crossed it is just taking a while for the pregnancy hormone to build up enough to be detected. I'll try to hold onto that glimmer of hope too until AF shows up but am feeling very as had stupidly convinced myself I was..
Ho hum maybe next cycle
Kate when are you having your blood test ? I'm sure all will be well for you and you can confidently graduate onto Sept ante-natal thread

kate2179 · 15/01/2008 22:05

Oh mibbes I'm so sorry... but the show isn't over til TEW sings! I hope I didn't talk you into testing before you really wanted to... What type of test did you use? I know some are more sensitive than others, could it just be too early to tell? Don't want to encourage you to hold on to false hope, but even so... how about testing again on sunday morning with FMU as we'd planned if TEW hasn't shown up by then? Really hope you're ok

07MTW good luck with the persona monitor! I used one for about a year, they're ok once you get going. Just POAS on day 6 and then for however many consecutivew days it is (I forget - 7?) when it tells you to by flashing its little orange light. Must be FMU but you have a 6 hour window in which to pee so pretty easy! Think I used to try to press my 'M' button at 8am so that my window would be 5am to 11am - early enought for horrid early starts and late enough for weekend lie ins! And hey, if there's one thing we're good at on this thread it's P-ingOAS ! Good luck, shout if there's anything I can do to help!

Welcome treats, you've come to the right place

MrsEi25 · 15/01/2008 22:06

wow you lot have been busy tonight!! i am usually the only one on here this late
i posted this on th 2ww thread before but thought i would ask you lot too... along with my strange spotting i have had pains followed by a small gush i was wonderin if you guys have had anythi like this as it is majorly strange for me!!
xx ei xx

twinklingfairy · 15/01/2008 22:10

Ah, here you are
I thought I had lost you, or fallen off the thread entirely

Haven't had a time to read through, not sure I will have time either, 166 posts in 2 days!!

You guys are so chatty.

10dpo here and I did a hpt tonight, BFN but I am trying to tell myself that it was cos it was later at night and not FMU. However, I am nrmally only 11-12 days between ov and af, so not holding much hope.
Ah, well, if no signs tomorrow, maybe test again Thursday.
I hate this time of the month but then I hate when TEW turns up too
But it is never over until the red lady sings, so still smiling here

07mumstheword · 15/01/2008 22:12

Thanks kate I have a question already....you said you used it for a year was that to try to get PG or to try not to? Was it any good and did it serve the purpose you hoped? Ooops lots of questions but you know what I'm trying to ask don't you, WILL IT WORK??? I won't hold you to.

MrsEi I'm sorry my lovely but I don't know what your body is doing, wish I could help but I don't even know my own body half the time. See how it is tomorrow, you're CD4 or something aren't you? If you feel AF hasn't really showed up maybe do another test?
