City, you need to find something creative that you really enjoy, it will take your mind off things with work hopefully, help you to switch off when you get home.

Yes! Very excited about the holiday. We deserve a break

Yum, maple syrup , and how sweet of your dh to bring back a babygro

I think men can be just as bitchy to work with as women sometimes, sorry they are winding you up. You need to ignore them, I know it is easier said than done.

I don?t think I am pregnant anymore, it was shortlived hope. Definitely just my sinuses causing me to be out of kilter. Oh well.

OP posts:
cityangel · 20/04/2008 01:22

oh dear Ready big hugs xxx
Holiday will help with relaxation and fun!
any thoughts on possible next steps/ checks etc. or are you going to chill out and go withe the flow. Dh and I were a bit gung ho with the tests and got quite close to fertility treatment in the end. Hope you don't mind me asking

I know I should ignore them as essentially they don't matter but my self esteem at work has taken a bit of a knocking.

Dh was sweet although when we were rowing today you wouldn't think it. Stupid row over not being able to find anywhere to park. We test drove an estate! Very sensible... but I had no idea how much cars cost new and even second hand

right off to bed

Ready · 20/04/2008 10:34

I don't mind you asking at all. Basically we have decided to wait until I have been at the new job a few months before we start the ball rolling again with the next step. Last year we had all the tests done, and the gynae kinda said that as there is nothing seemingly wrong, the next step would be ivf, and we certainly were not ready for that last summer. The gynae was pleased to hear that, I suppose it is unusual for people to say that they'd rather wait. It's just that we knew we would be moving not long after that consulation, and as it proved, we (well dh, but it knocks on to me) have had a nightmare season. So ivf would not have been a good idea with all the upheaval. Anyway... to try and cut down this waffle... we have moved, as you know, and so we need to get back into the system down here - and as soon as I start working, I will see my new gp and get the ball rolling, with the plan of assistance coming about 6+ months into that.

Yes, fingers crossed that the holiday helps with relaxation. I am fairly highly strung at the moment.

Oh, I know, it's not easy to work with muppets and not be affected by it. If only huh! Did you say that you would try to get a different position after baby is born? Or did I dream that?

With regards to cars, how big is the one you have at the moment? I just don't see the point of estates - but then I hate driving big cars. We've got aFocus, and it is so big - we have already said you could easily have 3 children with a focus and still happily get everything in the boot for a hol. I would recommend one instead of an estate... unless you've got a dog or something?

I should shut up now.

Hi Ladies,

Not much to tell here. Had a week full of headaches and migraines so AF is on her way.

DH has agreed to keep trying, have I said that already? Sorry if I have. He isn't going to avoid me at the crucial time!

Lets hope he sticks to it and we get somewhere. Although this month we covered all ground, so to speak, so even if we do try it probably won't work again.

Hope you are both well and have had the beautiful weather today.

I've been bitten on my chest and reacted to it. I'm all red. Those little blighters!!!!

cityangel · 23/04/2008 20:16

Hi

I am really pleased for you 3cats, hide the condoms or find a pin just in case! (only joking) sorry to hear about your bite. There was a piece on the news about the big recent rise in mossies. How are the kids? Keeping you busy? You seem happier I hope so...
Lets plan an online bikini day to coincide with Ready's holiday

Ready your plans sound very sensible. I was worried you'd think I was prying too much although it may not help I really can relate to the frustration. Part of me wanted a reason so we had something to work with. Sorry to hear you sound wound up, its easy to end up feeling that way. It must be tough on dh... job related stress really got to mine a few years ago and at one point he was getting ill with it. Try lots of hugs and romantic nights out... with the odd bit of shopping and ice cream thrown in for good measure especially if the weather improves... roll on your holiday.

I am doing ok, a bit low to be honest. I think you're right Ready I will go for a new start with work when I get back Dh is having tests for a medical complaint that could need risky surgery so have been trying to hide my emotions getting the better of me On a minor note I have the odd niggle and query as the clock is feeling like its starting to tick very loudly in terms of planning so I am off to investigate Mumsnet articles... I have found the site very helpful and you guys very supportive

3catstoo · 24/04/2008 07:46

Hi City,

Sorry you are feeling low and sorry to hear about DHs possible surgery. Keep us posted.

Bikini day sounds fab - I could do with a holiday.

AF arrived this morning . Still feeling positive for the coming months though now that DH has come around again.

How are you Ready?

Ready · 24/04/2008 14:14

I don?t think you are prying at all City, not at all. I am sorry to hear about your dh and his medical complaint, I hope things get resolved soon for him. And do try not to hide your emotions so much ? it will not do you any good ? sometimes you just have to let it all out.
My dh is doing well, he is nearing the end of his degree, which he has been doing - part-time, and has added to the pressure. But we?ve got each other, and as soppy as it sounds, together, we can get through anything. We?ve been doing lots together ? he took me to a farm the other day to feed all the animals, it was great fun.
How far along are you now? Have you got any ideas for names? Or are you keeping that a closely guarded secret?

3cats, sorry to hear about the migraines leading up to the latest cycle, that sucks.
So pleased to hear that dh has agreed to trying again, I think it is a good idea not to put any pressure on each other though ? but I am sure you know that
I meant to say, how are you getting on with your ingrown hair? Did it find it?s way through the skin? Hope so.

PMSL at the thought of you two in bikinis in homage to me on hol

The weather here is terrible, and I got soaked walking home from the doctors today. I have only gone and got a bloody ear infection. so probably getting wet on the way home wasn?t what the doc had in mind when he said plenty of fluids and rest.

OP posts:
3catstoo · 24/04/2008 21:08

Ready, poor you. Ear infections are horrid. Hope you feel better soon.
You are not soppy, I think it's great. The farm sounds like a fun thing to do.

The ingrown hairs, yes there were 2 in one place, finally got plucked out by me 2 days ago. All is fine now. Thanks for asking.

Weather here turned horrid too. It was a lovely start but it didn't last long.

DH home tomorrow so won't be on here. Have a great weekend both of you.

cityangel · 25/04/2008 00:06

Have a great weekend enjoy the sunny bits

glad to hear the hair came out... sorry to hear about AF and an ear under the weather

Fingers crossed the sunshine will bring you both lots of luck!

yes lets have a bikini half hour and eat ice cream then we can do it again when Ready's back to cheer her up with post holiday blues.

PS: whispers
I am 27 weeks and like short names with the letter K Sat dh and I are going to compare names He has his MRI scan tomorrow its all moving along quite quickly but won't get results until next Wed. I have been trying to get brave as otherwise he gets upset I could be making the baby upset

3catstoo · 01/05/2008 19:20

Hi Ladies,

How are you both this week?

Good luck with the names City.

cityangel · 01/05/2008 23:30

Hi 3cats and Ready, was missing you guys

Going for a scan tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Names went well, we both had the same boys names (with one letter variation) as our top name. Girls we've chosen and both had different versions of it in the top 10

How are you guys? You've both been very quiet. I guess Ready is busy with the new job and you've got your hands full 3 cats.

I hope you both enjoy the long weekend. We're going away Sun/Mon visiting family. Although would rather be at home with a packet of marshmallows

3catstoo · 02/05/2008 14:59

Marshmallows???? Is that what you are craving? With me it was mashed potato and watermelon (not together!).

There haven't been enough hours in the day this week. My house looks like a bombsite and I don't think it will get sorted at the weekend either.

Good luck with the scan. What's this for?

Have a good weekend.

cityangel · 03/05/2008 14:32

yes I've been really into sugary foods

We just wanted to check he is growing ok, and all was good whispers saw him yawn and got some photos this time.

I know what you mean about things running away with you. The flat was a mess and it took half the morning to tidy it and its only small!

Off to visit my grandfather later and then father-in-law for the rest of the weekend!

I hope you're enjoying the nice weather

All ok with you Ready?

Ready · 05/05/2008 14:47

Hey girls! Sorry I have been awol, I?ve been feeling rough with the ears? still not perfect, but for the moment I am feeling as if I am on the mend.

City, I remembered that the letter K was liked? did you happen to go with any of the names I suggested? ? marshmallows huh? I love toasted marshmallows, yum. How are you feeling? Glad the scan went well ? so cute that you saw baby yawning
My fingers and toes are crossed for good results this Wednesday from the MRI. I know it is easy to say, but try not to worry. Big hugs.

3cats, I reckon I will be a mashed potato and watermelon together kind of gal (if I ever get there!) ? I have the most bizarre cravings for food as a non-pg person , ice lollies and crisps together the most bizarre yet
You have a valid reason for your house looking like a bomb-site, I had no excuse really, other than feeling off colour, but today I blitzed it, and it is gleaming.

Isn?t the weather gorgeous!! Dh has been away all weekend, and I am useless at mowing the lawn, so I am stuck indoors, I don?t want the neighbours to see me lounging on the patio with a wild lawn that I should be doing something about. One of our neighbours is a bit of a garden militia!

So how are you both? Hope you have had fun weekends. x

OP posts:
cityangel · 08/05/2008 00:13

Hi Ready, how are you feeling now? On the mend I hope.

Funily enough dh's issue is with his ears, but fortunately the MRI ruled out the more serious problems for now. But we still need answers so we're waiting to see a different specialist.

Mixed weekend as Granpa very ill. Had a nice trip to the countryside to see father in law

The names we went for I haven't heard anyone mention yet but there's still time! The scan was because we wanted one final chance to get him measured and checked out. Its been the only reassuring thing so far. They check the blood supply and everything very thorough. I posted the picture

Feeling good but nervous like there aren't enough hours in the day. Discovered home made lemon juice as was getting seriously bored and off with the regular juice alternatives.

You'll get there Ready and I promise to post you lots of craving options! Our place is never gleaming pg or not!

You should just go out there in a g string with the stereo on and a glass of wine

At least that guarantees they wouldn't be talking about the lawn length !

The weather is great, good for vitamin K and generally making me very happy! Useful as the hormones can really creep up and grab you sometimes

Right off to bed for a good nights sleep

3cats when is our virtual bikini day?

3catstoo · 09/05/2008 09:52

Hi girls,

Hope you are feeling better Ready. How long until the holiday?

Homemade lemon jiuce sounds nice City. I would like to try making lemonade. I get so frustratef with the stuff filled with sweeteners. I can cope with the sugar but they put both in. I only drink it with Pimms anyway but still like to get a good lemonade.

It's just strated too pour with rain here. Still very warm though. I managed to go brown over the last 2 days playing in the garden with DD. I did get a bit of a heat rash too though.

I opted for self tan on the legs but can't really tell if it worked.

Yes when shall we have our bikini day.

Ready · 10/05/2008 11:03

Alright girls

I have finally got a start date for my new job ? about frigging time, although just as the weather starts getting good! Tut. Still, I am quite excited about getting settled in before I have my holiday. Ease me in gentle, like.

23 sleeps til holiday

City, how spooky that your dh has been having problems with his ears. I am pleased to hear the MRI ruled out anything serious ? is he having problems with his balance? On of the symptoms of my ear infection was balance problems and dizziness, it has improved loads, but I still get the odd wobbly moment during the day. The ears are so important to our life ? amazing really. I hope your dh improves soon. Is he seeing and ENT specialist?
Wow, I love looking at the pics of your baby growing over the weeks ? so exciting!! Can?t wait to follow you with my own bfp.

Went to Bluewater yesterday to get loads of clothes for the job ? any excuse huh!!

3cats, I have been using a gradual tanner and I am looking fairly sunkissed at the moment, which is nice.
I know what you mean about the added sweeteners, it is the same with squash, we are happy with the natural sugar, but even the ones that are not the ?sugar free? range still have sweeteners, which annoys me.

Right, I should stop waffling, got to get out in the garden and do more pruning and weeding. Almost there.

Enjoy the weekend girls!

cityangel · 11/05/2008 00:24

Cityangel homemade lemonade

1 organic lemon - bigger the better
wash so no chemicals/dirt on skin (keep skin on)
Chop into quarters, put in blender
Add 1.5 pints of water
Sugar to taste enough so its not too bitter

  • in my case 2-3 tablespoons of light brown soft sugar (but sure any will do)
Then blend for 10 seconds only Then seive
cityangel · 11/05/2008 00:36

so it sounds like we need our bikini day in 25 days time, although I may need to get dh to shave my leags and if I'm going to pull it off!

Then we need a wine evening (or substitute) with Ready when she tells us about hols! Great news about the job. You'll hopefully still have the weekend to enjoy the sun! New clothes v jealous. I went wedding shopping with a friend today and it looks like a fun 50s theme! www.candyanthony.com/album.htm I need to lose weight to be a funky bridesmaid!

Dh is seeing an ENT specialist no balance issue just low resolution sound deterioration on the one side... we'll see He is a brave bunny though, its amazing like you say what we take for granted until we don't have it.

I can't wait for BFPs either. Saving lots of info to send and hugs Right off to bed.. dh is v pissed passed out snoring next to me. Boy is he going to be hungover tomorrow! I had a fun evening but seeing my mates pissed, shouting and talking crap is a bit frustrating

Enjoy the nice weather

cityangel · 12/05/2008 23:49

My granpa died today He had a good life. I wanted him to see little one but obviously not meant to be still he saw the bump and knows dh will look after me.

I hope things are going better for you guys xxx

Ready · 13/05/2008 14:39

Oh City, I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather Hugs.

Also sorry to hear that your dh is having hearing problems, that must be so frustrating. I hope they sort him out soon.

I love the 50s era, so I loved all of those dresses - I had a train on my wedding dress, but if I hadn't fallen in love with the one I had, I would have definitely gone for a 50s style one. You will look great as bridesmaid!

Did I mention I start my new job on Monday?

OP posts:
cityangel · 13/05/2008 16:09

Good luck with your new job Ready. Come and tell us all about it. I hope the people are nice! No more nice garden time for you! You'll look smart in your new outfits.

Dh is doing alright just trying to ignore hearing issues I am sad Granpa won't get to see the little one. Still he had a good long life and he saw the scan photos which is something.

Thanks for the nice wishes Its nice to be able to catch up with you guys

Ready · 13/05/2008 16:34

It is sad when grandparents die. My grandmother died the year before I got married and I was really sad she didn't get to see me on my wedding day. But they wouldn't want us to be sad. Hang in there chick. x

OP posts:
cityangel · 13/05/2008 22:38

You're so right Ready. Sorry for your loss too xxx

cityangel · 19/05/2008 23:52

Ready how is the new job? 3cats how are you?
