Hi!
Making a thread looking for some company/support
I'm currently going into cycle 4, trying to conceive baby 1.
Looking for others in similar situation.
Beginning to feel a bit deflated now, as I am sure many many others are too.
Trying some things different this cycle to hopefully get a BFP
•ordered an Ovusense core
•carrying on with my reflexology weekly
•Trying the SMEP method
•Hot water bottle after ovulation as I read someone else done on here
•carrying on with my supplements

Any other advice/recommendations/suggestions welcome

May April be the months of lots of BFP's 🌟.x

@pocketbunny
Cycle 1 is eye opening so don't worry about how long you have been trying!
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear you think you have that... can you not get tests from the DR for that?(I don't know how it works sorry) and I am in Scotland so our NHS rules are different from you.
Hope you are managing to save up and a consult will put your mind at ease.

Oh I havent heard of Elevit, I'm vegetarian though so kinda snapsies! Smile hopefully when you are finished the 100 pack you can get something more suitable. I take the pregnacare at the moment, had the right amount of folic acid plus I take additional iron and some other vitamins. x

Ttc no. 3 I have PCOS and needed clomid for last time I conceived. Won’t get it again. Gurretly on cd60! Sad waiting for af so I can stop staring at BFN on disappointment

pocketbunny · 04/04/2022 10:44

@RMS0209 I did see pregnacare when I googled for other options so that's nice to see so many people happily taking it :) and vegetarian friendly! Well I've been going to the Dr for 10 years about this stuff and they've literally only given me 2x ultrasounds that don't even show endometriosis sites! Been told private is the only way to go.

So many new terms and things to learn about in this thread! I like the sound of the purple method :)

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 11:19

@Hjkillas hi and welcome, sorry to hear about PCOS. Glad you got Clomid last time.
CD60? Wow :( sorry to hear that...

@pocketbunny yeah I like it, I have tried 3 but I am back to this one, one upset my tummy and made me feel sick but this ones good and my partner is on the male version Smile
That is very frustraiting! I agree though if you can go private and get this sorted/looked at.

Yes purple method sounds good, a little less stressful than SMEP that's for sure x

alwaysseeingstars · 04/04/2022 11:34

@Hjkillas welcome, sorry to hear about the PCOS, that can't make things easy. Re the Clomid, is that because you don't want it again or they won't give it to you again? Gosh CD60, that must be so hard to deal with Sad

@RMS0209 it really is eye opening isn't it, it's crazy how much about the process and my body that I was ignorant on!!

@pocketbunny wow that's awful, surely there are things they can do for this on the NHS?! It's such a known issue now that they really should be doing more. That's so annoying about the tablets, you have to be so careful with supplements, tablets etc if vegan don't you!

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 11:43

Todays question of the day... does anybody have or has had or used the FertiLily cup? I bought it but I am yet to use it.. thinking of using it this month.

OP posts:
MrsGrealish · 04/04/2022 12:06

@RMS0209 I did get one. Didn't use it though. Felt like I was disturbing the stuff already there (if u get my drift) I gave it a go when we weren't DTD and it was a struggle to get up🙈

alwaysseeingstars · 04/04/2022 13:03

@RMS0209 sorry no, I've seen good things on other threads but not tried it myself! I did mention it to DH and he said it would ruin the moment for him if I put that straight in after DTD - but, he doesn't like the focus being fully on getting pregnant so other partners are probably v different - annoyingly mine isn't quite as on board with the details as some partners are!!

I do have a friend who got pregnant after using it (think on her 2nd cycle of trying that, 8th cycle overall) though, whether it was due to that or not who knows but if you & your DH are happy then it certainly can't hurt! And another friend has used their gel & said it was better than pre-seed (if anyone uses that)

Love the 'QOTD' theme by the way Grin

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 13:35

@MrsGrealish yeah see I have one but it's still in the wrapping, I'd be worried about it moving anything out the way it shouldn't we are on the same drift Smile that's my worry! I don't want to ruin a good chance with it.. back to legs in the air it is haha.

@alwaysseeingstars I have read a lot too! hence I bought one but now I'm like.... no idea how to use it is it a good idea, looks complicated haha. I'll watch a YouTube tonight (my internet history since starting TTC..oopsie)
My OH is the same, freaks out and I don't want to ruin it either so we ill just wait and see for now! x

haha you will love my QOTD's!

OP posts:
alwaysseeingstars · 04/04/2022 13:45

@RMS0209 definitely do some research as you've already bought it, you may find it easy to use! Or you may hate it and your question is answered Smile could you practise it after DTD out of your FW and see how it goes?
It's difficult, he really wants a baby but doesn't want to 'try' too hard if that makes sense, I guess it's the pressure. And our friends lost a baby quite late on which broke their relationship sadly, so I think he's a bit terrified about getting far along then losing it.
So I just do my CB ov tests, talk on here and just talk to him about the 'if we have a baby' bits rather than TTC specifics haha!

Looking forward to the QOTD's Grin

RSmamaa · 04/04/2022 13:58

Thanks @RMS0209 didn't do anything different this cycle no but I've felt less stressed. I have pinching pains in my lower left so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 13:58

@alwaysseeingstars you are right, I will have a look tonight and see.. if anything maybe try it like you say when not in FW and try it next cycle if it's easy enough to use.
I bought the pre seed... but it was to much, was like a slip and slide.. never told OH about it Grin so that was used once and flung to the side.
I need to stop reading about thing's and just buying them oops.

I hear you, we really want a baby too but he is cool and calm about it and im the one eating blueberries every day and worrying... not his fault he is just very laid back and I want it now kinda thing.
That's so sad, I know somebody else who lost baby quite late on so sad, she has been very lucky since. But I do love my OH so very much I wouldn't want anything to come between us.

Haha that's a good idea Smile and you can always vent to me or the chat.. its nice to have somebody going through the same isn't it. I havent told friends as I dont want the extra pressure. x

OP posts:
alwaysseeingstars · 04/04/2022 14:09

@RMS0209 thanks that's really kind, no we've not told anyone either which is the right decision but very hard!

Oh really? I won't be buying the pre-seed then, thanks for the heads up!! It's too easy to get lost in finding anything that may help and buying it, when sometimes the only thing needed is patience and good timing - but that's v hard to believe when you never know if it'll happen!

But good things come to those who wait hey Smile xx

@RSmamaa fingers crossed!! Less stress is always going to help Smile

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 14:26

@RSmamaa If you could send some of that no stress this way I'd be VERY grateful!

@alwaysseeingstars that's ok, it is hard but sometimes in the long run its easier.. that's us on month 4 now and I think I'd feel an extra pressure if I had friends knowing too.
No I wouldn't buy it, but I know somebody else that used it and the OH didnt mind said it was "warm" so that's just my opinion!

Im finished waiting now so ready for April to be our months Grin x

Tigergirl37 · 04/04/2022 14:27

Hi everyone - just catching up.

@RMS0209 - this made me laugh - this is totally me 'didn't share what was going on in my head (my TTC calendar) ha ha' Yep my OH thinks it will just happen without him making any particular changes and his mind was totally blown when I told him there was only a short window where I could actually get pregnant. I don't think he'd be into the cup @alwaysseeingstars Grin

Anyway I didn't have an IB Sad- AF just came early and kept stopping and starting on Thurs/Fri just to keep my hopes up! So previously though I'm 40 I did think well at least I have a regular 27 day cycle and now it seems I've had a 23 day one. I did phone the GP today to ask about testing but obviously this is classed as a routine appointment so I have to wait til the 22nd to speak to a doctor.

I just wondered if anyone who has been tested and went down NHS route would in hindsight have invested in going private for any of the tests or for anything that NHS won't offer?

Longbin · 04/04/2022 14:32

@Tigergirl37 I have been tested several times as my partners semen analysis kept getting messed up, which meant my results ‘expired’. Every time my results would come back as perfectly normal.

The tests are day 2/3 bloods and day 21 bloods. Then hycosy to check tubes (I didn’t get this far).

The bloods are a couple of hundred privately and the hycosy is around £500. Semen analysis is about £200. I think you’d end up spending just short of £1000 to do it privately.

I ended up going privately and while it did not find a cause for my infertility, it did speed up the process of getting assistance. The time between me being referred to the fertility clinic and then going privately was 2 years. I’m not trying naturally again now and will go straight to private treatment. The tests are quite pointless to be honest, mine would appear that I have good fertility with good egg count etc, despite being infertile. Unless you want to move to ART within a couple of months then I wouldn’t bother

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 14:35

@Tigergirl37 How are you doing?

HAHA it is me though , it makes sense when he says I think he is a mind reader.. oopsie Smile will make up for it tonight so we have a nice "fresh" start come Wed/Thur.

DON'T my OH didn't understand the SMALL window.. how small the small window is!

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear AF was here Angry

Personally i've not had to go down the NHS route (touch wood) but I think if I had the option to go private and financially I could afford it I would 1 for peace of mind and 2 for quickness. I think you should if you can. x

OP posts:
Tigergirl37 · 04/04/2022 15:00

Thanks for your advice @Longbin and @RMS0209 - I'll look into it. I'm also going to try and make some small changes this month like drinking a lot more water etc. so I guess I'll get back on the horse so to speak (God that sounds awful Smile) at the weekend - I have short cycles so next fertile window is pretty close with a second AF at the end of the month!

alwaysseeingstars · 04/04/2022 15:24

@Tigergirl37 @RMS0209 haha mine was the same - I believe the reaction was 'you what?! Why'd you bother getting the coil put inside you then' when I said about the very small window of being fertile!!
Sorry to hear about AF not IB Sad

@Longbin my gosh that is a lot! But well worth it in my opinion if the funds are there to save the stress and delays of the NHS. Did you find out the answer to your estradiol levels by the way, whether the dip was normal?

RSmamaa · 04/04/2022 15:33

@RMS0209 don't worry I am v stressed now the early testing period has arrived. Did an early boots test and feel like my eyes are playing tricks on me. I know it's negative but I can see faint line. I think it's an evap

TTC APRIL
Longbin · 04/04/2022 16:45

@alwaysseeingstars nope. My ovulation date changed as a result of it, but my period is still due in a couple of days. My estrogen has since soared to 850 in the luteal phase but I have no idea what’s wrong and the doctors won’t look into it

RMS0209 · 04/04/2022 17:23

@Tigergirl37 go you! little of little changes will hopefully give one big positive change.
silly but try leafy greens - get as much into your diet as you can.
Brazil nuts
Courgette
Avocado

All silly little things I try to add in... I'll be able to say way hay it worked one day I hope x

Just an update @MrsGrealish this was the test I posted about the other day!

I have just taken a clear blue as no AF yet and got a positive 1-2 weeks so now I'm convinced I could definitely see something in the above test!!
