Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Morning ladies, not read all the post's yet but did we all have a good weekend? I managed to ger through it without crying, which is an improvement on the last couple of weekends! Think it has more to do with me seriouslty cutting down my wine intake rather than anything else......

Still no sign of af (cd51 now!) so I'm going to try and see the dr again this week. Almost gave in and wasted another £x on a hpt yesterday but managed to see reason and walk away. There is no way I can be pg now surely?? I have been having really bad stomach ache and random nausea but think that is down to a little bug that has been going round..........I need to come on now, I am carrying so much water right now I could sink a battleship!

Miaou · 29/11/2004 08:30

Well, I just got my Christmas present.....

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 08:32

Nightmare runtus. I would be driven mad by now!

jeddah · 29/11/2004 08:35

beckif I was talking about 'in my water' for hula!,,,, sorry to confuse!

Munnzieb....get that 'M'button pressed!!!!

Off to work in York today, usually my day off....but helping out a bit.

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 08:37

miaou - really?

morningpaper · 29/11/2004 08:39

BFN

Not feeling too bad about it - was expecting it really and was only cycle 2. Although we gave it a good shot this month. Will get an OPK for next month and enjoy drinking as much as possible over Christmas.

mariella · 29/11/2004 08:40

MIAOU!!!!!!!

Many congratulations! Great news! so when are you due? Hurrah, send some babydust please!!!

morningpaper · 29/11/2004 08:40

Miouu: BFP????!!! XXX

Miaou · 29/11/2004 08:40

YES!!!! I got a bfp this morning, and a strong one too! I had suspected I was PG earlier in the week but I ddin't want to test until my AF was late!

Just rang DH to tell him (he is away atm) and he is as excited as me!

Miaou · 29/11/2004 08:42

Is there a surefire way to work out your dates?
Hulababy · 29/11/2004 08:45

Massive congratulations - well done! Have a fantastic Christmas, with your early present

So sorry about BFN morningpaper. Maybe it was too early?

runtus · 29/11/2004 08:52

Massive congrats on the BFP - christmas has come early!

I am going mad slowly, your right! Any chance the Dr will be able to give me something to make me come on do you think??

munnzieb · 29/11/2004 09:07

congrats Miaou thanks for sharing the dust! what a great start to the week!

Jeddah - I've pressed that button hon! lol. lets wait for the O, (not that it make too much diff this month!) lol, will try to work it so DH comes back in time for next months O! - looks like he'lll be back in time fingers crossed.

Hula - Sorry about the BFN, (at least you can drink a shed full over xmas! lol.

Rantus - Don't know if the Dr can do anything or not, When I asked if he could help with the AF symtoms he basically said he could but would hinder my chances of concieving so it was decided all round to 'wait it out' so to speak, (all signs have now gone apart from the AF of course and the weepness!) Fingers crossed he'll be able to do something, you'll have to let us know.

Becki - are you testing this week as well?

runtus · 29/11/2004 09:18

Here's hoping, I just want him to give me an injection or something to make me come on and then I can start my clomid.........the wait is killing me!!!!!! If I go to the loo to 'check' once more my work colleagues will think I have some sort of problem!

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 09:21

I am still somewhat concerned that my temp doesn't raise very much after or during OV. read that the temp rise is due to some hormone, and that hormone is the same one that help sustain a pregnancy. If so, then surely the more the temp goes up, the more of that hormone there is and the more chance you have of getting and staying pg? So, if my temp is hardly rising, I have less chance? Can't fine much more about it all though but looking on the FF gallery of successful cycles resulting in pg - they all seem to have high temps, gradually rising.

Is there anythign I can do or take to get a high temp (if it is indeed caused by the hormone)?

Sallie · 29/11/2004 09:23

Hula - sorry to hear about your BFN - get your feet up and have a glass of your favourite tipple or treat yourself to something nice from the shops.
Miaou - congrats - wonderful news.
Me - cd17 and have an 'o' on my persona monitor for the second day running. As I said in my previous post, am currently having a big crush on the RL character in Bodies which is stoppping me being so obsessive about the ttc business. Roll on Wednesday evening. Have freeview so can watch both episodes back to back - hurrah!!!
Best of luck to all testing this week. When is the new thread going to start as this one is getting pretty long now?

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 09:24

Erm, no BFN here?!? Not quite got that far yet. On CD28, but not quite late yet so not tested.

Sallie · 29/11/2004 09:26

...sorry meant sorry about the BFN, morningpaper. Best of luck this month Hula - not long till you test, eh?

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 09:28

If I get that far...

Found this so far regarding my query:

After ovulation, the corpus luteum (the remains of the follicle that released an egg at ovulation) produces progesterone. Progesterone causes an increase in your body temperature that is observable when you measure your BBT with a special BBT thermometer just upon waking in the morning.

geordie · 29/11/2004 09:31

Hula....the drug metaformin I think can help with that...and of course progesterone creams etc etc....

as for homeopathic stuff....Angus castus is good for regulating and strengthening the cycle....off to read my homeopathic guide brb...

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 09:33

Cheers Geordie. I know the GPs won't do anything after just 3 months so need to consider natural and over the counter ideas first, and keep monitoring to provide evidence for GP when it has been long enough!

I think I am going mad - never been so bothered about stuff like this before. Is this what TTC does to you!?!

runtus · 29/11/2004 09:35

Geordie, what does the book say to take to bring on a period???

geordie · 29/11/2004 09:37

Hormonal normalisers....
they balabce and normalise the functioning of the endocrine glands...so aiding the reproductive system.

'chasteberry'
(most imp H Normaliser)
normalises eostrogen and progesterone activity.

black cohosh also aids and supports glands that produce sex hormones.

geordie · 29/11/2004 09:37

han on a mo runtus

runtus · 29/11/2004 09:38
