Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has been for a first appointment at the ACU in Dundee. My husband and I have our first appointment together at the end of January and just wondering what to expect.

Well that's our cycle officially started! The nurses were amazing at explaining it all and we also did a mock transfer as that part of the journey was really playing on my mind. Gas n air is wonderful 💨

@FSF85 yup it's the cool bags of drugs. Just did our first solo injection and DH did well 🥰

Day 3 of stims and I'm learning that men*pur is much less stingy if we bring it out the fridge for 15/20mins prior to 💉

DH is being an absolute superstar 🌟 as I can't face 💉 myself 🫣

Still too much of a wimp haven't managed to self inject yet 🫣

A wee update as the weekend approaches, I've had scans day 8 & 10, back on Sunday for another scan and they are hopeful we will then do trigger for EC on Tuesday coming.

Overall stims haven't been too bad, a bit tired, had a couple of migraines and a touch of nausea. I've also managed to 💉 myself I think it has helped that we've been on annual leave too.

Staff have been very genuinely supportive which has helped us in bucket loads 💜 ✨

We got 8 collected and 7/8 have fertilised fully, no8 isn't being discarded just yet 🤞🏻 further update call on Saturday 💜

The EC wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. The sorest thing for me was the cannula in my hand as it irritated a nerve which gave me tingly fingers. I've been tanking fluids, resting, keeping warm, managed on paracetamol when I felt niggly last night and continued taking lactulose to try and avoid the post EC constipation.

I've no full recollection of being in the treatment room as they gave me the premed on route although I think I embarrassingly started to sing along to an ABBA song they had playing 🙈

The tea and toast afterwards was like manna from heaven 😋

Started on the gels yesterday too which are an interesting sensation!

I'm to phone on my next period around the 6th Dec to hopefully get started but still haven't heard much!! There's a lot of waiting!

We've still heard nothing since our consultation in September, getting itchy feet now just want to start. It's horrible just not having any idea how long we still have to wait.

Had day 5 call yesterday and the magnificent 7 are still going strong. No8 isn't discounted just yet either🤞🏻 transfer day tomorrow and we're feeling more nervous about that than everything up to this point!
