We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

Internal scan story and your OH - I always think how weird it is that people show their scan photos around and if you think about it they’re showing everyone their uterus! As for TWW it definitely feels like it’s dragging - I feel like I threw everything at it this month - dtd every day from end of AF til ovulation and a day or two after, used the preseed and a cup everytime, and I’ve started taking a little aspirin since ovulation. Been tracking my temperature and downloaded fertility friend and am now obsessed with comparing charts 😂😂 my spotting might start Sunday so will see how that goes. Your opk does look a positive defo get on it today and tomorrow!
@LA9610 I think we are synced I’m on CD16, ovulated CD11 and due on the 5th!
@xoJellyBean oh that’s exciting, is it comforting to know you’ve got some kind of solution for the moment?
@apwilso I used cups too, I struggle the other way! Defo do another test. Have you been doing opks this cycle?
@Lkdjul when do you normally ovulate? Hopefully you can at least get a couple of goes!

@Bundaberg84 that's what I'm was like I missed it the other day and I ended up wasting it as I didn't know! Hopefully it's clearer though!

@Fra1991 definitely! I end up soaking my hand or the test 🤣 yes I actually do which is a shock for me. I only had a two day bleed which was exactly the same as when I was pregnant back in April 2021. So waited a week after that to retest. I'm just being hopeful but I know full well I'm not pregnant😣

My boyfriend has dismissed going to the doctors at the minute but I'm going to override his decision and get booked in next month if this cycle is a fail!

@Fra1991 haha I know 😂 it’s funny when you think about it!

We DTD last night and the day before so will continue today too. Going to keep testing to see what’s going off, maybe it’s just an early peak or it could be an extended one? Who knows!! Only time will tell.

Do you always spot before your period then? Fingers crossed AF stays away!! You’ve definitely gone all in this month 🤞🏼✨💕✨

@Fra1991 - haha yes we totally are, we both got AF on Tuesday 11th last cycle too! I never get any spotting but I always know a day or two before whether I can feel AF coming or not!

@Lkdjul - Yeah, to be fair we were in the last few days of the FW when Covid hit but there was definitely a couple of times when neither of us felt like DTD at all - but we did it anyway haha. DH will completely miss next cycle so when he is at home we always make sure we have done the most we can!

My excitement this week is that we have decided to get a dog and are picking up a labrador puppy on Monday! It's something we have been thinking about for a couple of years now and almost got a pup this time last year but we decided not to because we thought we would get pregnant soon and wanted to save our money for baby stuff. But we've finally decided to just go for it - we need some positivity in our lives and i've decided that even if I were to get pregnant now, the dog would be almost a year old at that point. I'm so excited, not felt this happy/excited about anything in a long time.

@Amy259 Yes, you have no idea. I was not long talking about how January was just flying by and the weeks was going so quick apart from the last 8 days which feels like a month already. 😆

@HopefulGlow thank you we are. Were also both super busy with our kitchen renovation which is defo a welcomed distraction. I keep trying to distract myself by looking at things 😂😂

Yes, that’s so true although I think I’ll be an emotional mess if I get there. I know my mum will be too - she cried when she found out I had miscarriage so I’m most excited to tell her.

Just seen your LH test - that's defo high/peak, how early is it to your normal cycle?

@AZ1992X the kitchen sounds like a lovely distraction, I read you’re doing it all yourself? That’s so good, i love doing diy and decorating. You feel like you’ve achieved so much after.

It will be so amazing to tell your mum, I’m sure she will be crying with you. I hope the time goes quickly for you.

It’s only 3/4 days earlier than usual but I’ve kept testing today and they’re still super strong. Going to test again tonight and tomorrow to see if they’ve changed.

Hi I’m new here! Can I join? But tmi but I’m wondering if anyone has had clear stretchy egg white cervical mucus 2 weeks after they ovulated? I assume I ovulated 2 weeks ago due to the texture and volume of cervical mucus and rise in bbt. Period is due soon. First month of charting!

@Amy259 I was testing daily to start with but less regular now. I did one this morning then Sunday was the last one I did before. The line is just as dark as the test line now so not much sure it’ll go much darker?

Its around 8 days since my period was due (last Wednesday). So at guess around 19 days as I only have around 11/12 day luteal.

@HopefulGlow Yes, it looks like a building site at the minute 😂😂, will be so worth it though once complete.

Glad you’ve managed to catch that it came early so you’re covered this cycle 🤞. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

So it's a little boy and we are calling him Ollie 🤩 picking him up on Monday as our isolation ends on Sun at the latest. Cannot wait! I'll attach a few pics for you. Honestly my heart feels so full already, you'd think I was having a baby 😂

My work has just signed up for a service called peppy which offers fertility support. I spoke to them yesterday and they’re sending me an AMH kit in the post. After a bit of Googling I am now totally unsure whether or not to use it. The scientist in me (I’m a geneticist) read some of the studies that suggest it’s really not all that accurate at gauging fertility and thought I might just be freaking myself out but the mad TTC woman in me was all ‘more tests, bring it on’. Anyone done one and got any advice?

@LA9610 oh my goodness he is gorgeous!!! Do you have a name? We have a cavapoo and it was the best decision of our lives!!! I warn you - it’s hard work at first , I’ve even had people tell me it’s harder than a newborn!! But even if not it’s good prep! I think it’ll be good for you, it’ll take your mind of ttc.
@HopefulGlow yeh I normally get spotting 6 days before - I’m a bit worried it means I wouldn’t have time for an embryo to implant but maybe it just wouldn’t happen if I conceived… normally dtd brings it on - such a twisted pregnancy test but so far very accurate!! Yeh feel I did everything but take that oil that improves your cm, I can’t remember what it is called?? Will try that next month if I get my bfn. I don’t know much about the ovulation peaks I try after what I think is my ovulation peak to just dtd every 2/3 days but then the spotting arrives and that puts me off. Sounds like you’ve managed to do what you neee to though!!
@xoJellyBean yeh I can imagine .. I even feel a bit better having gone for a private appointment and gotten another test. I’m just counting the days atm really! Obsessively looking at my bbt chart!
@Lkdjul yes I just got my AMH results back today as they test at the fertility clinic. So mine were just under 13pmol/l which the doctor said is normal for my age and would give a normal response to ivf treatment whereas over 20 you risk over simulation. When I googled the results i found that my results was on the low end and would be low fertility if I were under 30 and I only turned 30 in December so… I don’t have my consultation until next month tho so will ask the consultant then. I know that the result doesn’t give any indication of quality of eggs though. Hope that helps!! X

@HopefulGlow thankyou!! Clomid gets me ovulating again🥳 im on 50mg and will get a scan on day 10 to see how my follicles are. And the metformin is so improve my insulin resistance due to PCOS, it helps clomid work well too (it's actually a treatment for diabetes so I'm nervous about it)

@WhatToThink1 hey, welcome. You can get the same type of cm coming up to af aswell apparently! Will you test soon? Bbt charting is great

@Lkdjul hello fellow geneticist :) I did my undergrad and PhD in medical genetics. It's good to know another geneticist in the group :) Also great you have access to a free AMH test. I've never had one done, but also a little skeptical about it as it doesn't tell you about the quality of the eggs, which matters more than quantity in my opinion.

@AZ1992X so nearly 5 weeks now? Have everything crossed then crossed again! And glad to read your kitchen is keeping you busy haha, anything to take your mind off it. What’s the next step for you?

@Lkdjul so I had a long chat about AMH with, completely coincidentally, the gynaecologist who invited (discovered?) the test itself. He just happened to be my gynae and when I started on about all the tests I wanted, he told me that was his work.
Exactly like Fra1991 said, the way he explained it was that it’s only useful when it comes to IVF because it helps to gauge your response/how to stim you. But in general, he said finding out the value would be just another number to stress about if I wasn’t at that stage yet, so he strongly advised me against it until it was necessary. Hope that helps!

@xoJellyBean I would still be waiting for my hycosy appointment right now if I had waited too. It’s so sad, the NHS has just been hit so hard 💔 I felt like I was cheating on them when I got my private test but just kept telling myself I was freeing up a space on the list haha. So glad things are moving for you!

@Amy259 Yes, think I’ve just hit that. I rang the early detection unit to try and schedule an early reassurance scan as they had told me last time to book one. Anyways long story short but they’re no longer doing them due to NHS pressures unless you’ve had an ectopic previously. So if all seems well I’ll book a private one in a few weeks time. When did you go for your private one? X

@AZ1992X I had originally booked one as soon as you could at the private place near us to make sure it was in the right place because I had a niggle on my right side, so 6 weeks, then back at 8 weeks because they say that’s an important milestone.

But then I ended up in our EPAS at 5+2 because the pain got really sore, and they discovered a 5cm cyst on my ovary from releasing the egg (which has since popped!). Then I went for a private scan at 8 weeks.

I just remember being an anxious mess and every day feeling like a week, it wasn’t a nice time at all. Really hope you’re managing to keep sane and faring better than I was ♥️♥️ x
