When to test?

Hey ladies, I'm spending sooo much money each month on pregnancy tests... i think I'm addicted to peeing on sticks 😅 how early have you ladies actually got a positive test? My af is due in 6 days and i been testing all week - knowing its way to early but getting so disheartened seeing just the one line :( when should i start testing really?

@WhatTheEll yes definitely, My partner is also female, so only get one try a month at it - so everything is timed to a T so to speak. It's just very unusual for AF to be late, along with the symptoms it's all very positive. But I was convinced it would have shown up on a test by now :(... didn't test yesterday, so going to try again in the morning and hope for something. Thank you for replying :):)

Im CD49 now, haven't tested since Friday as that was my final no for me but still AF is a no show! Still got very sensitive painful boobs but but that is still my only AF symptom.

I can't believe I'm on CD49 and not pregnant! I have never had a cycle this long without pregnancy!!! Xx

@StillJustWaiting sorry for not replying sooner, I'm good thank you! Not much to report, I'm 5w3d now and eating everything in sight 😂 anymore AF symptoms? Let us know when you get a drs appointment ❤️

@JemG908 hi! all looks promising, if AF hasn't shown in a few days it might be worth getting some blood tests as they detect HCG earlier than any pregnancy test! Keep us updated!

@StillJustWaiting test couldn't be any more negative this morning - so weird... maybe just having an odd cycle. But will try and leave it until the weekend now to test again if AF hasn't shown up. Have you booked for bloods just in case?

@Stallsey yeah if nothing by the weekend I'll try and get in with the docs, but that's a nightmare for anyone at the min. Congrats to you, is it #1 for you?

@JemG908 Ah thank you! Yes my first, booked a private scan for a few weeks time so think it will all sink in then.

@Stallsey ah that's brilliant, excited for you!! I just had a thought as well, and I know I'm probably clutching at straws - the FRER tests I have are from last year, we had one try and then all the restrictions came in again so sort of shafted us - they aren't out of date - but I'm thinking / hoping there is a possibility they are defective 😂!! Real thin straws here, but I might order some more for the weekend before trying the docs... if AF doesn't show up that is! But will keep you posted!

So I found a CB test this last night, took it this morning and got a vfl instantly... but still very faint ... could be line eyes, can anyone else see it? CD50 now!!!

@StillJustWaiting that's crazy, I can see it! It does look very thick. Definitely book some bloods at the docs as they will be able to check your HCG levels! Xxx

I have to be honest, I'm almost too scared to go to the dr's incase its something bad bad if that makes sense? But I will call them again tomorrow, fingers crossed i get through this time!!

@Stallsey it is very think and even, its very light blue but definitely blue ... bet then again we know what these blue dye tests are like!

@JemG908 I was a couple weeks ago getting very very faint lines on FRER but have fully given up with those tests as i swear it's just the indent line I'm spotting with my hopeful eyes !!! But had totally negative CB tests .... i have had EVIL evap lines on CB so i do not look at them AT ALL after 10 mins- causes too much heart ache...

@WhatTheEll I know, I'm so so fed up with it all... i just want to totally give up but i also feel like I can't totally give up till AF arrives .... i still have absolutely none of my usual AF symptoms - other than painful, lumpy boobs !

I stopped at the shop on my way home from work and grabbed a couple more tests - tested just now and it's totally negative, ill try again in the morning or in a couple days and see but i will also get on to my GP tomorrow xx

Still no AF for me, plan on testing again tomorrow.

Still no AF for me - but no positive yet either, tested yesterday morning and don't think it could have been more negative, 6 days late which is highly unusual. Decided to stop testing now and if no AF next week I'll do another then try and get in with docs. Definitely have loads of symptoms - lay awake until 430 this morning

@Stallsey I know it's really annoying - at this stage I'm praying for the positive soon as every day that passes I feel like I'm getting another symptom (tmi - but I'm sure thrush is coming as I'm quite itchy ) but I also think it's crazy that at around 20dpo I would have the positive if I was going to get it. How are things with you? How far along are you? You must be getting excited for the scan!! Xx

CD53 and AF finally just arrived !!!

@JemG908 things are good, thank you. We're really looking forward to the scan, just to make sure everything is ok! I'm 6 weeks now, time is flying!
I also had thrush around 6dpo, only lasted for a day or so which was weird. Hope you get more clarity soon xxx

@Stallsey aw I am so excited for you! Honestly it feels like I had it yesterday and pretty much gone today - couldn't help but test this morning and still couldn't be any more negative - experiencing so many things that are different from my usual, but fully aware that chances of getting a positive this far in now are slim (not out completely, but trying to stay realistic)! Let me know how the scan goes... I'm only just slightly starting to appreciate how stressful and worrying the journey is lol!! Xx

Sorry I haven't kept up to date with the thread the last couple of weeks!
Where are we all with our cycles and pregnancies?! 😍
I'm now CD7, AF lasted 5 days after a horrendous 52 day cycle! Glad to be able to start fresh now though, hoping if this isn't my month then I have a normal cycle this month so i know everything's all okay and working as it should, if that makes sense?
Fingers crossed we all have some happy news for Christmas though ay? :D

This month I'm not going to put so much effort in, i really went all out last cycle and it only caused me a whole load of hurt and confusion when I had a dreadfully long cycle!
Although i am going to put more effort in in other ways (other than DTD everyday!) I am going to drink lots of errrm was it grapefruit juice someone suggested?
I was going to track BBT but have decided I'm going to start that next cycle once i know my cycles aren't a total mess! Lol

I would hold off on testing until the first day of your period. You'll waste so much money and stress yourself out so much testing before then.

@StillJustWaiting Heeeeyyy! So glad your cycle finally ended and you can move on. Also.... 5 day period....OKAY 👏🏻 bonus. Mine are normally a full 7 🤦🏻‍♀️
I'm currently 5/6DPO. I say 5/6 because I think I ovulated the day of my peak reading. Nipples are sensitive/sore and I'm getting pain/cramping daily down my right groin 😳😳 I don't want to get my hopes up!!!! We DTD only 4 times but two of those times were on the day of my peak 🤣
Anyway, good luck to you. Grapefruit juice leading up to your ovulation but then stop taking it after you've ovulated. It increases CM. 🤗 xx
