When to test?

Hey ladies, I'm spending sooo much money each month on pregnancy tests... i think I'm addicted to peeing on sticks 😅 how early have you ladies actually got a positive test? My af is due in 6 days and i been testing all week - knowing its way to early but getting so disheartened seeing just the one line :( when should i start testing really?

@Twinkle236 CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's amazing news ! You have a week to develop some kind of illness that requires you to take medication you cant drink on! Means you're gonna have to throw in hints here and there before that something's not right... maybe antibiotics??

Got a BFN yesterday on FRER :(
Going to try wait till Tuesday when af is due, I had some light cramping last night but nothing today, I think my body maybe getting ready for af...

dental emergency is better, you don't want to drink on painkillers or go with earache which makes you feel a bit dizzy and you just don't fancy alcohol

For the most accurate result you shouldn't test until the day after the latest day your period was due. But I don't think anyone waits that long anymore!

Buy a bag of the One Step cheapies on Amazon - £7 for 50. And then only buy a FRER or expensive test when you get something on one of those.

What I did was telling everyone I had a UI, worked very well. Said if I take care now I wouldn't need to take antibiotics.

@WhatTheEll AF is due tomorrow and i am 98% sure its on its way :( got slight period type pains in lower tummy, I'm achey and I think there was a little pink when i wiped this morning :( I done a cheap test this morning BFN, the sensitivity of the test was 25mlU - I feel gutted - there is still good chance for you, I have everything crossed for you!!! Are you feeling positive this month? ☺️🌸

I'm going to try tracking BBT next cycle, can anyone explain BBT a bit better to me please?

@StillJustWaiting I'm so sorry! But you can start afresh next cycle and get your BBT on track 🤞🏻🤞🏻 you need a good thermometer that tracks to two decimal places, eg 35.67oC. Test at the same time every morning, immediately upon waking. No talking, walking around or anything. I used the Fertility Friend app to log it Good luck!! Xx

Not feeling massively positive 🤷🏻‍♀️ boobs hurt but that's about it. 6DPO so I guess things could change

@WhatTheEll well af is due today, pains only lasted about an hour yesterday then went... I usually get really painful boobs and back the week leading up to af but my boobs and back both feel absolutely fine, no pain at all as of yet!
So weird i was so confident i was going to come on yesterday, i even put a pad on before i went out incase... now nothing 🤷‍♀️

@Starcaller I thought about buying a load of them, in fact they were actually in my basket but then i seen a post on here about false positives on them test then went on to read the reviews on Amazon and it seems to be a really common thing with those tests, they have even shown positive with tap water 😵 xx

@RacketeerRalph AF is due today for me, i haven't tested today but REALLLYYYYY want too 😂 I haven't actually got any tests at the moment so would mean going out and getting one 😂 i want to try and resist and see if af comes in the next couple days.. i was certain AF was coming yesterday but today definitely don't feel like AF is coming at all 🤷‍♀️🤞 however its not uncommon for me for AF to be a few days late anyway... currently CD34 x

@StillJustWaiting That is weird about AF not arriving and yet you had some cramps 🤷🏻‍♀️ hopefully you'll know either way soon enough. With BBT, you normally get a dip in temp before ovulation and then quite shift in temp upwards afterwards. But the most solid way I've found is going by your CM. I tracked BBT for ages and it was stressing me out so I don't do it anymore. Hopefully you have a better experience.

Boobs normally a bit sensitive leading up to AF anyway, so nothing knew here. 7DPO today 🤞🏻 I normally start spotting around 10DPO if AF is due so I'll find out this week! Xx

@WhatTheEll it's so strange, still absolutely nothing! I just want to know now if I'm pregnant or if af is gonna arrive!! Ive decided I'm going to test Thursday if af hasn't arrived before then as i should be due on today ! :) and if af is going to arrive I hope it hurry's up so we can keep trying! I'm actually getting fed up of trying now, feel like giving up but I want our own baby, our own little family so bad!
Nearly 10 months all together now and in that time had a miscarriage and 2 chemicals 😩
Eeek only a few more days! Do you start testing early ?

@Pugmumm how many DPO are you? Do you find them reliable tests? I literally can't handle any false hope on these dodgy tests the freedom tests caused me enough heart ache ! Xxx

Hi! Hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I'm currently 7dpo, originally planned to test this weekend but now thinking when I'm 9dpo 😬 The reason why is I've had a lot of symptoms and now starting to think I could have ovulated abit earlier and I have missed it? I also had 2 evap lines on CB tests last month and it really hit me hard! On my 3rd month of ttc.

I have definite twinges, I've been noticing it since last night but thought it was just me symptom spotting, but I am sure sure now that it is there and something different 🤷‍♀️ my only concern is i feel it mostly in the left side, every now and then a little on the right but not at all in the centre where it should be if it was anything pregnancy related! Maybe it is just AF getting prepped to come but its not my usual thats for sure... however af is due today so it could quite easily be af symptoms xx

@StillJustWaiting I can totally relate on the ttc front. We're 12 months in and 2 miscarriages this year. I have a DS and it took 3 months to fall with him so I'm at a loss.
I might do a cheap test tomorrow (even though I know 8DPO is still early!)
Seriously keep me posted on your end because it's so weird when you feel different twinges, it just puts your mind in overdrive!! Xx

@StillJustWaiting Morning! Since Saturday I've had some weird (to be honest not even sure they're related) symptoms!
First one is thrush, Sorry for the TMI. I have had this before and normally lasts a week with treatments, because of TTC I decided to leave it untreated and it was gone in 2 days!?
I've had a random sore throat/stuffy nose and feeling sick. I'm not sure on this symptom as the weather is changing but I have had 3 colds in the past 2 months so bit strange how it came out of nowhere. I also don't feel poorly just have the symptoms of a cold (if that makes sense!)
Lastly, I've had cramp/twinges/ovary pain all since Monday. I didn't have these the previous months, I normally get cramp when I'm on my actual period (which is due in 6 days), but not before.
So, a bunch of random symptoms and it's probably just me symptom spotting but feel very off this month!
Oh... & I've been so moody 🤣

@Stallsey I did a cheap test this morning BFN but I'm only 8DPO and implantation could occur today or tomorrow 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞🏻 I'm still 6 days from AF too, so I might test Thurs now. What about you? X

@Stallsey That's a good idea, excited for you! Boobs are tender and I've had weird dreams every night this week which is unusual for me, the odd twinge too but I'm trying not to overthink it! So hard! I've only got really cheap tests in the house. Might order some FRER for tomorrow too 🤗
