Hi ladies - not much to report on my end again. Still got that tight feeling in my abdomen area, BBT still high but dropped ever so slightly today.

Feeling a bit emotional. At work at my female colleagues were discussing their past pregnancies & births and I absolutely love listening to people's stories but I started getting so sad that I had nothing to contribute.
Ended up having a wee cry in the bathroom πŸ™ƒ
Anyone else have days like this? πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ

LittleMysSister · 19/10/2021 13:52

@HRHXO

I 100% hear you, this is what I worry about with my DP too and why I try and be so sneaky about the whole thing πŸ˜‚. Makes it harder for me though tbh and it does stress me out :(

I've said on another thread (or could be this one? Can't remember!) that I struggle to even use Pre-Seed because I've got to get it in and then successfully entice DP immediately without him knowing it's in there as I worry it will put him off or put too much pressure on. It's a bloody nightmare.

It's such a difficult balance between making sure you're DTD enough at the right time and forcing it down that route every time isn't it?

I'd say on average me & DP have sex twice a week usually and in between that we do "other stuff", so it's quite a challenge and not natural in our relationship for me to suddenly try and change every...umm...engagement?!?!....to full intercourse. Trying to stop his sperm being wasted in between my secret schedule of sex every day/every other πŸ˜‚ If it does happen I'm like GAH WHAT A WASTE.

@LittleMysSister πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ your post cracked me up and it is SO ON POINT πŸ˜‚

Lmao thanks to all the ladies who have shared their experienced with partners being unable to perform or finish or be fully up for DTD during the right time of the month it's reassuring to know we have all been through it and it's not just me being really unsexy! It's so difficult to keep it sexy and fun and not just a chore I have put on some nice underwear today so I hope he appreciates me sat in uncomfy undies just to seduce him later πŸ˜‚

He's been dead sweet actually and told me he wants to try again later so hopefully it was just a blip.

This is the first month I've seek my LH levels rise and gotten high OPKs so I really want to make a proper go of it.

I'm truly jealous of some of my best friends/brother and his girlfriend who have 2 or more kids and most of them unplanned or within the first couple of months.

I'm so thankful to have found this thread of supportive ladies! Baby dust to us all!

LittleMysSister · 19/10/2021 14:22

@Danani Honestly it's so true though isn't it!! So then not only do we have the wasted load, I'm then worrying the next lot won't be as potent because it won't have been 48hrs in between πŸ˜‚

My DP just doesn't get it, he doesn't appreciate how little time there actually is for this to happen each month. He'll often make little jokes throughout the month about 'another tick for my chart' or whatever, whereas I'm there thinking...IT'S USELESS TO ME NOW BABE.

@HRHXO I'm sure he'll be fine later, happens to everyone at some point doesn't it :)
Totally agree as well that it's so frustrating how many people find it all so easy and conceive within the first couple of months. I'm even starting to get pissed off with the amount of accidental pregnancies portrayed on TV shows now!

Shortmamashortcycles · 19/10/2021 14:28

@LittleMysSister, YES OMG. Infuriating! Oh, she's had sex once - she must be pregnant! 😑😑😑

This may not be the right place, but hopefully once you guys go through pregnancy and birth, you can also yell at the screen every time pregnancy nausea = acting entirely normally apart from occasionally vomming, women having long and involved conversations in labour, or postpartum women being handed their "newborn" which is clearly a 6 month old kid.

Shortmamashortcycles · 19/10/2021 14:30

Hmmm not sure I phrased my comment above very sensitively and I can't figure out how to delete... sorry!

LittleMysSister · 19/10/2021 14:43

@Shortmamashortcycles LOL dw, I know what you mean. Don't know much about the first 2 but I totally agree about the 'newborn' babies who are actually visibly way older.

HRHXO · 19/10/2021 14:46

@Shortmamashortcycles omg yes, I've never given birth or been pregnant but I know enough from friends, research etc that labour doesn't just start with waters breaking all over the super market and then straight into pushing at the hospital either πŸ™„ really winds me up!

Shortmamashortcycles · 19/10/2021 15:11

Thanks, and again, sorry for being a bit thoughtless.

I would pay good money for a film or TV series that shows women having to POAS multiple times over multiple rubbish, obsessive, depressing months. Because that is life for so many of us!

(I would also pay good money for tests that are designed better so I don't get wee on my hands so often, but that could also be operator error. I'm not the most co-ordinated first thing in the morning!)

Firsttimetrier · 19/10/2021 15:21

Thank you for sharing your struggles of DTD. We started so well, and probably way too early, that we’ve now done done anything for a week. Which is okay as I’m past ovulation, but I think the amount we did do has caused us to completely stop!

The only positive if AF decides to show up is that we know to hold off until at least CD10 to DTD!

I’m having a really odd sensation today where I feel like I’ve come on my period, even though AF isn’t due for another 8 days. Even time I’ve checked and I’ve got quite a bit of CM, which is so odd. I swear this never happens but I honestly don’t know anymore πŸ˜”πŸ™ƒ

Mummytobe93 · 19/10/2021 15:24

That’s a good idea @Shortmamashortcycles ! πŸ˜‚

I was thinking that if men were carrying baby for 9 months, they would invent some sort of smart watch or fit bit that could detect pregnancy within 7 days from conception πŸ˜‚

@Mummytobe93, I can't remember what thread I said it on, but I would love a device that monitors what's really going on in there and sends you a notification each morning, like: "cycle day 10, oestrogen is rising. No dominant follicle yet."

AND THEN YOU COULD GET ON WITH YOUR DAY.

I think if men did the gestating, we would have this already.

i123i · 19/10/2021 15:51

Hi girls! You seem like a really lovely bunch so hope you don’t mind me joining in so late into October!
I am hoping it’s a lucky October for me (and all of you!), but I might be seeing things so wanted your input please… I’ve just POAS (yes, it’s late afternoon but I couldn’t wait until tomorrow morning so understand it be a bit diluted!), and I’m 12dpo.
Does this result look like a BFP to you? It’s so faint a line, considering af was due today or tomorrow, so I would have expected it to be quite dark…just don’t want to get my hopes up for nothing.

Really appreciate any advice!! :)

Lucky October (The Sequel) πŸ€
Shortmamashortcycles · 19/10/2021 15:57

@i123i, congrats hun, that's a BFP! Don't worry about how dark the line is - it's nice and clear, you're only 12 DPO and it's an afternoon wee. Mazel tov!

LittleMysSister · 19/10/2021 15:57

Yeah and I find that when this is portrayed - thinking of Charlotte in Sex and the City and Monica in Friends as 2 examples - it's always a proper fertility problem as opposed to just the reality of trying to get pregnant for many people.

Obvs I can see how writers need to make it interesting and keep moving the story forward, but it is annoying as it does perpetuate the idea that if you don't fall pregnant straight away there is something wrong, when the reality is it just can take quite a long time.

@Firsttimetrier It sounds awful doesn't it but DTD on demand can be a real headache and take all the joy out of it.

i123i · 19/10/2021 16:00

@Shortmamashortcycles - ahhh thank you lovely!! That gives me a bit more confidence! It just doesn’t seem real. I will test again tomorrow a.m. to be sure.

Totally agree with the comments above that if men could get pregnant, they would 100% have come up with better/more accurate/faster tracking methods by now!

LittleMysSister · 19/10/2021 16:01

Defo a line @i123i !! Congratulations :) x

Leibee87 · 19/10/2021 16:02

Can definitely see that line congrats @i23i

i123i · 19/10/2021 16:04

@LittleMysSister @Leibee87 - thank you for the confidence vote ladies!! I’m praying another one will show a BFP again tomorrow morning (and the next morning, and the next morning… !!). Will keep you updated and keeping my fingers crossed for you all too! What a journey. x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 19/10/2021 16:07

@i123i that is a definite BFP. How many cycles have you been trying? Any symptoms for all us girlies to note ?

Cruz86 · 19/10/2021 16:17

Definite positive @i123i! Congratulations 😊

Can someone PLEASE send me a link to very sensitive test strips from Amazon please. I realised today that mine are only 25miu, not 10!! I've found some but they've got terrible reviews 😩

i123i · 19/10/2021 16:17

@FlyOnTheWall89 - we’ve been trying for about 5 months (which I know is nothing compared to what some of you are going through Flowers ) but I was always worried it would take ages, as my OH is in his mid 40s and I’m in my mid 30s, so I knew our age was working against us. And this would be our first baby. I am still wary of this BFP until I’ve done a few more days of tests, so I’m not letting myself get excited for now. And won’t tell OH until Friday evening.

Re symptoms - lots of abdominal cramp/pain. Even a week before af due. But that’s pretty much stopped now.

  • CONSTIPATION!!! Confused - for almost 10 days, which was not fun. I took some herbal pills to help.
  • Bloating. Felt like there was an extra layer of watery blubber all over my stomach area. Also meant I felt full very quickly which isn’t like me at all (I can usually eat endless amounts!!).
  • Google black hole: I googled every symptom under the sun. It didn’t help!!!!

I still continued some of my usual exercise routines of jogging, Pilates etc in the TWW but not some of the more hardcore circuits classes I do. Also only had a glass of wine twice. It’s so hard to strike a balance of β€œbehaving” in the TWW but not totally putting your life on hold for 2 weeks every month. There’s always the β€œwhat if”…

Danani · 19/10/2021 16:34

@i123i oh wowweeee definitely a BFP there! Congratulations!!! And thanks so much for sharing your symptoms and a bit about your TTC journey! ❀️ Have all my fingers crossed the line gets darker! And maybe by Fri it will also show on CB digital, which must make it feel all the more β€œofficial”! πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€

@Cruz86 not sure who was telling us about them, but I just checked mine and they are 10miu and are the easy@home ovulation tests (the green box on Amazon and they come with 10 preg tests!).
