Anyone want to join? I'm 34 and TTC #1. 2DPO and managed to only DTD twice as we were travelling for our honeymoon. Only using OPK's at the moment but may start temping in the next few months if no luck.

@CrazyCatLady75340 Haha thank you! A fellow cat lady 🐱 Yeahh that's what I'm trying to keep in mind. Knew it was coming last night so had a nice glass of rosé 😋 Fingers tightly crossed for you!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 10:05

Thank you @CatLady93. I'm not overly hopeful as both times we DTD my husband was quite dehydrated and there wasn't a lot of man mess 😂 I'm trying to tell myself that it's quality over quantity but we did some science (after my window of opportunity) and I made him drink a lot of water before which helped, so we're on it for next time.

Hope you enjoyed the wine. I've not tried the CB ovulation sticks (mainly because of the price) but have heard they're quite good.

Man mess! Brilliant 😂 Great that you've worked that out so early on though 👌🏼 The wine was delicious after a few weeks of none. Whispering Angel rosé, highly recommend!

Yeah I think I'm going to buy the little monitor thing. Probably entirely unnecessary but god love a gadget and I'm so nosey as to what's going on in my body!

BeatAroundTheBush · 18/09/2021 10:13

Morning all. This week has gone by in a flash for me, anyone else feel the same?!

Sorry to hear about your AF @CatLady93, fingers crossed for your next cycle.

My ovulation sticks have arrived so I can get on it with testing. This is definitely a trial month for me but we're DTD regularly just in case... 🤞

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 10:14

I've found it quite interesting learning about what my body does and when so I'm with you on that. I was on the implant for around 15 years so I had to relearn the basics because I'd not had a normal cycle in so long. Someone recommended the book 'taking charge of your fertility' so I'm waiting for it to arrive.

Because of my age (I'm 34) and any pregnancy being classed as high risk (I have two uteruses) we don't want to hang about too much, so we're throwing ourselves into it, extra water and all 😂

@BeatAroundTheBush it's going so slow for me! I now fully appreciate what others mean by the TWW feeling like it lasts forevvvver! Good luck with the sticks and let us know how you get on!

OP posts:
BeatAroundTheBush · 18/09/2021 10:39

@CrazyCatLady75340 I think I've just been so busy at work I don't know where the days have gone! But completely understand the slow TWW 😔

I agree with you about learning more about our bodies, I've been on and off the implant for 10 years so just trying to understand what is normal. Wishing you all the luck with your TTC journey particularly with the high risk elements 💐

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 10:48

@BeatAroundTheBush it's a minefield isn't it! As much as I loved having the implant, I had forgotten the novelty of when to expect AF. Really enjoying that aspect of it from a logistical point of view.

Thank you. From what I understand, conception shouldn't be any more difficult for me, but there's a higher risk of prem birth and MC. There's a group on here of people with the same condition that have gone on to have healthy pregnancies and births though so that's definitely encouraging.

How many DPO are you now and have you had any symptoms?

OP posts:
CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 10:51

@BeatAroundTheBush sorry, just read back and you're waiting for AF!

OP posts:
BeatAroundTheBush · 18/09/2021 11:11

@CrazyCatLady75340 it definitely is a minefield! I know what you mean though, it helps to speak to others in the same boat. How long is your cycle length normally?

Hi @Meeko93 @MrsYan @JonSnowsCloak @AmyD54321 how are you all getting on?

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 11:33

It definitely helps to talk to others, especially as we're not discussing it with anyone in real life. My cycles are normally 28 days and I seem to be running like clockwork.

Did you download any apps? I have Premom which is good as you can upload the photos of your OPK's and it will interpret the results. I had a few others but chose the one I preferred to use and deleted the others, just in case they all threw up slightly different results.

OP posts:
BeatAroundTheBush · 18/09/2021 12:01

Good that your cycle is regular! I've downloaded Femometer and will try it out and see - there's so many out there so it's definitely a case of seeing what works for you. That's interesting about being able to upload your photos to Premom.

Has anyone else started taking Folic Acid btw?

CatLady93 · 18/09/2021 12:16

@BeatAroundTheBush I've found fertility friend to be great, mostly for if you're tracking your temperature though. I'm in two minds as to whether I want to carry on with that as it's a bit all consuming! I've ordered the clearblue fertility monitor though so I'll submit my reviews once I've used it!!

I've got folic acid in my multivitamin, it's a wellwoman gummy I take. I've been wondering about taking something else though, like Proceive? Don't know if it's necessary though! 😬

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 12:44

Yes, I've stuck with the app I seem to get on with the most. Have decided that if no luck this month then I'll have a go at monitoring BBT which I'm able to add results to on that too.

I can't swallow tablets so I'm taking the pregnacare strawberry gummies. They're an acquired taste mind you 😂 I read on the nhs website that it's recommended when TTC, but so many people don't know they're pregnant for at least a month, so I'm sure you'd be fine if you left it until you found out. (I'm not an expert though!)

Hey everyone!

I'm all good thank you, I am now 10 days since having my coil out. I have had my period and it SHOULD be 13 days til ovulation!

Glad everyone else is ok and sorry to hear AF came, fingers crossed that this cycle is your cycle.

I have 4 different apps and they are all telling me different days that I'm going to ovulate so for this month I am going to test and temp and whichever app has the correct day wins and I'm keeping that one lol

What does everyone have planned this weekend? X

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 14:02

Yes, I had the same problem with the apps @MrsYan. Are you doing anything to track ovulation? I did the same where I monitored my cycle for a few months and stuck with the most accurate.

This weekend I am mainly trying to revise for an exam I have coming up, but occasional twinges are such a distraction! They're probably all in my head anyway 😂

Yes I am testing and I'm temping but first month doing both so just seeing how it goes 😊 my temperature seems to be all over the place though? Is this normal or should it be quite steady?

Oh what exam do you have? I hope it goes ok! We are renovating a house atm so I have been out looking at tiles all morning. Honestly my fave thing to do, I love it!

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 16:16

@MrsYan I'm not sure about temping. I was planning on picking it up as I go along if I have no luck this month. There are a few threads on here that you could join from some who know it in and out though so good luck!

Thank you! I've got a few weeks yet but I'm still firmly in holiday mode 🥱 It's nothing exciting, just a professional qualification for work.. it should get me a pay rise though so that's the motivation! Tile shopping definitely sounds a lot more fun!

Hope you don't mind me joining currently 4 dpo and going stir crazy. Hope everyone is doing okay

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 16:56

Of course @sarahtom23. How are you feeling so far and is this your first month? I've had a few weird cramp type pains and a stabby pain in my lower left abdomen about an hour ago which I'm massively overthinking! Are you doing anything to track ovulation, or just shooting in the dark, so to speak? 😂

OP posts:
sarahtom23 · 18/09/2021 17:01

@CrazyCatLady75340 we've been trying for over two years now I got pregnant once at the beginning but sadly lost baby by 12 weeks. We took 6 month of trying but been back trying now for over 11 months and no luck. I use opks to track ovulation so we know and we've done all sorts of methods to try make it happen but every month has been the same this past 11 months and many negative tests. I'm trying to stay positive but it's so hard when we really want a baby. This is our first we're trying for.

sarahtom23 · 18/09/2021 17:01

I find every month I symptoms spot and alway convince myself I'm pregnant and then af shows up.

sarahtom23 · 18/09/2021 17:02

Sorry I just noticed your thread says month 1 I'd trying 😔 i think im just lovely so been joining what threads I can. Sorry to bother you ladies who are just starting I wish you all the best

CrazyCatLady75340 · 18/09/2021 17:05

Ah, don't be silly, anyone is welcome! I'm so sorry to hear you've been struggling. Have you seen your doctor? As it's over 12 months they should be able to run some tests. I'm not sure how it works if you have a break in between but you should be able to get the ball rolling soon.

@CrazyCatLady75340 thank you that's very kind. I have spoke to the gp and the my have referred me but told me there is a delay with covid so it could still be months before the nhs May help us otherwise we'd need to go privately
