@ponymum1980 that's great news, glad you're feeling better now!

@Catconfusion so pleased your scan went well, I don't know how I coped with waiting so long between scans with my children! Though there weren't as many facilities for paid scans as there are now I suppose. It was just one at 12 to check everything then one at 20 when you found out the gender of you were lucky, sounds like I was pregnant in the stone ages rather than 15 years ago 😂

Catconfusion · 09/10/2021 16:11

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum scanning is definitely a big business now. It must have been so hard, especially for those who’d been through losses. Going back further, people didn’t even have scans. We’re very fortunate to have had 5 NHS scans so far. Ironically the only private scan I’ve had before was with my first pregnancy as my midwife wouldn’t refer me due to a small amount of spotting. It was a mmc so it wasn’t nice finding out at a private clinic. We’re going back to the same place for the gender scan and I think I’m only just ready. I’m just hoping it helps me bond with the baby knowing the sex. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/10/2021 16:36

@Catconfusion it must have been so strange having no scans, I know mum mum didn't with me, but I guess you can't miss what you've never had! I think knowing what it is makes it all more real and definitely helps you bond too xx

Mattieandmummy · 10/10/2021 05:31

And it makes picking a name easier 😉 x

Lastyearttc · 10/10/2021 09:28

@ponymum1980 - I hear you! I'm 12 weeks now (hopefully). Still feeling pretty ropey everyday with nausea and uncomfortable bloating but the tiredness isn't as bad and I don't feel like I'm going to be sick most the day. Dating scan and screening on Tuesday, so we'll see... I'm just taking it once step at a time

Catconfusion · 10/10/2021 10:38

@Mattieandmummy that’s a good point. I’m really struggling this time. We have two massive lists. At least when we know the sex we can delete one. Xx

@Lastyearttc good luck for Tuesday. It’s so nerve wracking. Only two more sleeps to get through. Xx

Lastyearttc · 13/10/2021 15:41

So... I cried again before the sonographer started as braced myself for bad news... but was good news! Dated me at 13+2. Just waiting for the combined screening results now...

Honey2 · 13/10/2021 18:21

@Lastyearttc fantastic news!!!

birdbybird · 13/10/2021 19:10

Woohoo! Great to hear @Lastyearttc :)

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 13/10/2021 21:35

Wonderful news @Lastyearttc! I hope you can relax a little now, once those results are back x

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/10/2021 22:15

@Lastyearttc that's great news I'm so pleased for you!! Xx

Catconfusion · 13/10/2021 22:16

Congratulations @Lastyearttc that’s such good news. Hopefully your test results will come back quickly. It’s a good sign nothing obvious came up on the scan. Most severe issues would be visible. If your bloods come out ok it’s likely you’ll be low chance. Fingers crossed for you. Xx

Mattieandmummy · 14/10/2021 13:44

Congratulations @Lastyearttc, I'm so pleased for you! I really hope everything continues to go well x

October1979 · 14/10/2021 21:43

That's great news @Lastyearttc congratulations 🎉

Hello,

I hope it’s ok to join. I’m 41 and TTC no.3. I’ve had 4 miscarriages, two were 10 years ago before I had my first child and I’ve just had another two MMC in May (10 weeks) and Sept (8 weeks) this year. Just got first AF since the last miscarriage and trying to summon enthusiasm for going through the whole process all over again (can’t help thinking it’s just going to go the same way).

Having forced myself to just ‘get on with it’ over the last few weeks, I’m now feeling quite sad again and really hope that this won’t be the way the whole pregnancy journey ends.
Already taking various supplements (vit D and Ubiquinol) and tried acupuncture prior to the last miscarriage.

Kind of feeling like it would have been easier if I’d never started down this road again - maybe a weird midlife crisis?! - but we always wanted 3 and put it off for financial reasons, and now it may bd too late. Obviously I realise that having two is already an amazing privilege, but I can’t turn off the longing for one more….

Anyway, sorry for the somewhat negative introduction - I’ve found reading through all the posts very helpful and feeling a bit less isolated

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 16/10/2021 12:39

Hi @FaB80 and welcome to the group, and thanks for introducing yourself. I'm sorry for the recent miscarriages you've had - that's really tough.

I'm the same age as you and worried about being too old but I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first (after 13 months of actively trying) so definitely don't give up on your dream for a 3rd, and do keep us updated.

This group is a really lovely place to come for support on both the down and the up days of trying to conceive, and glad you've already found encouragement from it.

XxX

Honey2 · 18/10/2021 19:42

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing ok…
I have my early scan at the clinic in the morning. From my dates I’ll hopefully be around 6+5.
Not looking forward to it, I don’t think I’ll be able to look at the screen. No idea which way it’s going to go - On the one hand I feel like I’ve had more consistent symptoms compared to my MCs. But on the other I know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything! I just don’t think I want to let myself dare to hope in case it goes the same way as the last 2.

Anyway - wish me luck! I’ll update later tomorrow..

Lastyearttc · 18/10/2021 20:00

Keeping everything crossed for you @Honey2 🤞

Mattieandmummy · 18/10/2021 20:14

Best of luck, I hope this is the one for you x

Gemandi2 · 18/10/2021 21:25

@FaB80 our stories are extremely similar and I too am same age and already have 2 amazing children, I put off the 3rd for similar reasons and also wondered whether we truly needed a 3rd, so I understand your sadness, pain and lack of motivation given the past 6 months grief and pain. Try and stay positive altho I know it's easier said than done at times x

Gemandi2 · 18/10/2021 21:30

Ladies I wondered if I could ask for advice, prior to the past 2 cycles I'd not used ovulation tests - I've been using clearblue testing kits this month and have had 6 high fertility days in a row from cycle day 15 onwards - still no peak fertility day and I'm now on CD21 - does this sound normal/possible or not right??? What's everyone else's experience ?? My fear is I may be entering peri menopause so I'm fearful I'm just not ovulating as I should be but I don't want to drive myself mad second guessing everything and just wondered what others experiences were?

Catconfusion · 19/10/2021 04:47

@Honey2 aww good luck for this morning. I’ll be thinking of you and hoping for the good news. Xx

Catconfusion · 19/10/2021 04:53

@Gemandi2 how regular are your cycles? I have mild pcos so I ovulate late and irregularly. If I used ovulation sticks I would get days of high fertility and sometimes multiple peaks. Usually ovulation gets earlier towards menopause and cycles get shorter so it may just be late ovulation. I found the cheaper tests more economical as I sometimes wasn’t getting a true peak until day 32 after a couple of false ones. If you take your temps as well you’ll be able to see when ovulation has truly happened. Without pcos it can be stress that causes late o. I hope that makes sense. Xx

Mattieandmummy · 19/10/2021 07:39

@Gemandi2 if you get your FSH levels checked it will tell you where you are. Your GP can do a blood test on days 2 to 5 of your cycle or you can do a finger prick test on the same days.

Gemandi2 · 19/10/2021 12:55

@Catconfusion and @Mattieandmummy thanks for your responses really helpful, I appreciate it. My cycles are more commonly 28 days give or take a day. But I'll get the odd cycle which throws me a curveball and might be 33 days! I deffo think I'm ovulating way later, when I fell pregnant earlier this year (pre MC) it had deffo been around CD 21-23 which I thought was strange but perhaps your right - I think cheaper kits may be in order tho as I started testing from day 9! @Mattieandmummy I'm trying to get an appt with gp so I can have a few tests as your right it would really help to just know where I stand - thanks all x
