mcchesers - no never got around to ordering the tes must do it soon, don't think I need the sleepytime though am shattered. Scan at 9.40 tomorrow.

ALBS - I have had loads of aches and pains, could just be nothing the way you have been sitting or sleeping, usually you wouldn't even notice it but every little twinge is a worry just now. As I say to the others we just have to keep ticking off the days.

jules - just keep telling yourself it will all me worth it, it will be next July x

right off to watch heroes x

teeheelaydee · 28/11/2007 22:01

kitty Blimey, it's all going on in your house. Don't you get to eat lots of ice cream for tonsilitis or is that just when you have them out. Oh well - I'm sure you can stretch the rule! Good Luck tomorrow.

I am watching old episodes of Dallas (v/old, v/seventies, v/cheesy) on DVD in bed. Long day, tired and can't tackle anything more challenging. Key Lime Pie would be perfect but will have to make do with dairy milk.

Wheelybug · 28/11/2007 22:05

Hi All - found you at last

Good luck with the scan tomorrow SK - will be thinking of you.

ALBS - the back pain does sound sciatica-ish. I had this with dd at about 6 weeks which was v. strange, maybe unrelated to pregnancy. Thinking of you too.

Hello everyone else - Glad you're seeming positive Lissie and Jules...

Hello Georgiegirl - welcome - sorry you're here but whaddya mean about people in south west london driving aggressively ..... I drive most demurely....

Nothing to report - in 2WW - yyyaaawwwwnnnn

mcchesers · 28/11/2007 22:31

teehee - lol at you watching old DVDs of Dallas. My friend and I were extras in an episode when we were 6 or 7..can't remember which one, but it's in a dairy queen (ice cream place). You gotta love the shoulder pads.
The ranch is about 10 minute drive from my sister's house.

KashaSarrasin · 28/11/2007 23:36

Evening everyone!

GeorgieGirl - candles, essential oils and glass of wine and massage would be wonderful - except that's how I usually end up pg, lol!

SK good luck for the scan tomorrow!

mcchesers - wow, being in Dallas must have been so exciting, we watched it religiously when I was a kid.

TJuice - hope you get your raise.

ALBS - sounds like sciatica to me too. I hope it clears up soon.

Feeling much better this evening, I've had a horrible head cold the last few days which hasn't helped and it seems to be clearing up a bit now. Just a matter of taking one day at a time I guess...

sweetkitty · 29/11/2007 05:03

Well it's 5am and I have been up an hour my throat is so painful don't know if that's keeping me awake or worry about the scan today.

mcchesers - am totally starstruck, wow good claim to fame being in Dallas, I love it too, I can't believe my Mum let me watch it though when I was about 6 theres so many sexual connatations (spp?) in it still must have went over my head.

teehee - my rubbish TV vice right now is 60 minute makeover, I put DD2 down for her nap and DD1 and I watch it for an hour, she asks for "makeover" now and we have a discussion about it, usually whey they aren't painting the bedrooms pink.

wheelybug - 2ww sucks hope you got a little travelling egg in there

kasha - thanks for the best wishes for tomorrow everyone has been so lovely x

Good luck sweetkitty xxx

aquababe · 29/11/2007 10:30

Sweet Kitty good luck with the scan and hope your throat feels better soon, I've an on/off sore throat nothing as bad as yours, but can sympathise.

teehee My mum used to watch dallas avidly too. It must be fun to watch it from an adult view point

mccheser wow lucky you being in tv history!

sybil how did your scan go?

Been thinking about whether its worth trying to get a scan. When I m/c'ed I'd already had two scans that were fine, one with heartbeat(7weeks). So even if I saw a little healthy bean I don't think I'd feel that much better. What's more it'll be 8 weeks Christmas day so the chances of getting an appointment around then are slim. I'm also woorying as it was 8 1/2 weeks that things went wrong so if they went wrong again then it will be impossibe to get seen.
Damn it going insane already!!!

Aquababe, I completely understand and sympathise about the early scan decision. I talked it over with my doctor who basically said that he would advise waiting until 11/12 weeks. You won't stop worrying until then even if you do have an early scan, whereas once you get to that scan you have passed the most important and psychological milestone and can then get on with the rest of your pg.

I wasn't convinced with this argument but I did follow his advice and now I am glad. My scan yesterday was fab. There was a recognisable baby with a beating heartbeat, who measured right on the dates. It was such a relief, and today I actually feel like I can let myself believe that next year I am going to have a baby.

So, my advice to you is this, if you can, wait. Then that one scan will be an important milestone you can pass and celebrate. Its a difficult decision, good luck with it!

sweetkitty · 29/11/2007 11:35

Good news from me, I have ONE baby in there measuring 8+1 days with a heartbeat. Blubbed lying on the scan table, coming out the hospital, driving home, going around Asda and when I was telling DP all about it. Am emotional wreck. Will have anotehr scan at 12 weeks but that's it which I am and about.

I had DD1 in London and had two scans and a nuchal fold, DD2 was staying at my Dads as between houses had 2 scans and got told the sex, up here just the 12 week one. The 20 week one is important as they do all the body structures and check for any anomolies that can be picked up before birth. The hospital have got funding for 20 weeks scans but not until next year and they have to emply more sonographers. Will be paying to have a private scan though.

great news sweetkitty.
is 8+1 what you expected???

yay!

TwilightSurfer · 29/11/2007 11:39

HooRay SweetKitty How very exciting and WONDERFUL!!!!!

sweetkitty · 29/11/2007 11:39

thanks I think I am 8 weeks today going by LMP but have 27 day cycles so 8+1 is spot on.

mcchesers · 29/11/2007 11:43

sybil- Congrats on your scan!!! I've still got 2 weeks and 2 days until my next scan 11/12 weeks, but glad I had some early reassurance at 6 weeks that things were progressing. Before at 9/10 weeks I had only seen the sac and nothing else, so seeing a fetus with a heartbeat was very helpful for my peace of mind. For me everything had gone pear shaped at 6/5 so that was a good milestone for me.

Aqua- It's not always the case that you won't be able to get an appointment around the holidays. If it makes you feel better, just phone the EPU. They will tell you honestly what the schedule is like. Since you had a mc before they might be able to help.

You guys are funny. I don't even remember being an extra on the show..but I remember the banana split. mmm.

How is everyone doing?

mcchesers · 29/11/2007 11:46

Oops missed your post. Hooray SKitty!! Am so happy for you!!! Ok I can go out now, was waiting for your news

cricri · 29/11/2007 12:22

Excellent news Sweetkitty, you must be so relieved! I'm sure I would have blubbed in your position too! Hope your throat is better today.
It sounds as though it's the usual postcode lottery with the scans unfortunately - I also thought the 20-week one was pretty crucial. It's good that have the option of going private, but it shouldn't have to be like that. Stating the obvious I know - rant over!

EllieG · 29/11/2007 12:42

Yey sweetkitty!!!!

KashaSarrasin · 29/11/2007 12:50

Congratulations sweetkitty and sybilvimes on your scans! That must be such a relief.

aquababe · 29/11/2007 13:02

Sybil and sweetkitty Congratulations glad both your scans went well.
mcCheesers at our epu they don't get paid it's a free clinic they do before starting there other jobs so I'd be surprised if theres many places but i guess i won't know unless i ask. think i'll leave it a little while first i've set myself the 6 week target for getting in touch with docs/midwifes etc

splishsplosh · 29/11/2007 13:47

Congratulations Aquababe on bfp, and SK and SV on good news scans.

I pop on to lurk mainly. Always seem to end up sitting here blubbing while I read the thread. I'm not sure if it's cos it's the only time I really think too much about the mc (though I do have an obsession with looking to see if women are pg), or if it's cos I think I'll probably never be pg again, or just cos life's a bit miserable right now.
Sorry to drag the tone of the thread down

Wheelybug · 29/11/2007 13:48

Great news on scans SK and Sybil. WHat a relief !!

How are the aches and pains ALBS ?

alittlebitshy · 29/11/2007 13:53

still achey and painy wheely, but trying not to be too negative (note i didn't say trying to be positive - that would be too hard lol).

off to take that tonight though. woo hoo!!!!

aquababe · 29/11/2007 14:50

crap!

A wipes worth of red blood.
Already had an implantation bleed of a bit of brown so that's not good.
