What I thought to be AF turned out to be a bad case of theruns
And so when I poas'ed last night I actually got a BFP

Very nervous about it, but happy too. I actually went to the place(shopping centre) I got the positive with my dd for good luck
My dh thinks I'm mad but hey don't they all
now if I can just get past the nine week stage without going insane

ALBS glad your finally able to admit your pregnant

Lissie glad your getting that referal at last
ilts sorry it didn't happen this time

Jules, I am so pleased that minijules is continuing to grow healthily and they can see why you are bleeding (must be quite a relief while at the same time still being worrying).

merrylissiemas · 14/12/2007 15:54

jules, NO SEX! and NO DIETS!

Wheelybahhumbug · 14/12/2007 15:56

Great news Jules and Lissie - cheers all round for LWH !!

Popsy/Gilly - we are going for referal v. soon - as soon as DH does his stuff ..... grrr.... I'm assuming we'll be at Kingston although if we haven't got round to referal by the time we get back from skiing we will probably do first appointment privately.

LOL at teh no ironing rule. 6 weeks after my c-sec with dd my MIL (a clean and tidy freak) asked me if I could hoover yet, to which I replied no. Horrified she asked 'when will you be able to' 'a good few years yet' I replied. I am not a good DIL !
Actually DH didn't let me hoover all through my pregnancy with dd as he thought it might do me damage. I said nothing.

gillystarrynight · 14/12/2007 16:14

at wheely! My MIL is the opposite - she says we are way too tidy and house proud. She lives in a house with stuff everywhere - it would drive me mad! I see we are in the same boat with the DH sample. Mine has promised to do it this coming week - he has said that for the past month. Have you had you bloods done yet?

(I think) we will be OK waiting to see the consultant for a couple of months but if s/he hints at joining the IVF waiting list then I will insist on going private for it. It can be over 12 mths wait on the NHS list and given that I'll be 35 in Oct and eggs will begin to deteriorate I don?t want to hang about.

TJuice · 14/12/2007 16:29

yaaay, jules!

so excited for you. so good to know what's going on and that it won't keep happening.

i haven't hoovered for about six weeks and i am get scared that the dust bunnies will attack me soon. i may have to get help soon as i have absolutely no inclination to do anything, bar empty the dishwasher occassionally.

my weight has been up and down within half a stone which is normal for me. i went down a kilo from nausea but now i am my normal weight again. i do eat utter crap at the moment, but not much of it. however, the midwife said that its okay in the first trimester - won't hurt the baby but its healthier for you if you eat well. i feel so run down so i may just start on the 6 fruit and veg a day thing.maybe in the form of a smoothie . . .

i am in bed with a mahoosive headache and sore throat on my xmas party night. i should feel gutted but i don't at all. normally, i would soldier through a cold with lots of "cleansing" vodka. since this is not a possibility, i have started my weekend grotting-around time early . . . .

TJuice · 14/12/2007 16:33

GEORGIE - take a hayfever pill before you start drinking. it totally prevents my hangovers - don't know why. maybe something to do with the fact that you don't react allergically to the alcohol
anyway, a female doctor told me about it and then my friend who runs a halfway house for alcoholics confirmed it by saying that some of the people on antibus (some medication that gives you the fiercest hangovers as a deterrant for boozing) take antihistamines so that they can still drink.

Wheelybahhumbug · 14/12/2007 16:44

Gilly - I had first set of bloods done in March and another set done in about May. Then DH went to the docs to get his instructions in August..... I think he thinks if he spins it out long enough it won't be needed ! Grr grr grr.

We will have to go private if it comes to IVF because of already having dd but lets hope it doesn't come to that for either of us.

(BTW, don't get the wrong idea - I'm not completely slovenly !!)

gillystarrynight · 14/12/2007 16:52

The thought never crossed by mind!

At least I managed to drag DH to the same appointment as me to talk to our GP about TTC for a year after MC and no success. If he had been left to his own devises he would have never gone.

Any tips on stuff to ask the GP/what to look out for in the blood test results?

Wheelybahhumbug · 14/12/2007 17:09

I dont' know Gilly - tbh I just got told mine were all fine. Thankfully I really trusted the gp I saw at the time. Unforetunately she was a registrar who didn't get a permanent job but I saw her to tell her I was pg, to tell her I thought I was m/c (I was) and when I went back with issues some 8 months later. 8 months later she remembered me exactly and talked about the mc and how I was handling it. She was great. I am so sorry she's not there anymore.

If I were you though I'd ask for the exact numbers they give you for things. Have you had day 21 and day 2 tests done ? If so, you should find out what your progesterone levels are and your fsh and lh (think thats right). At least then you can come on here and find out more !

Wheelybahhumbug · 14/12/2007 17:11

BTW completely off topic I had dd's first ever nativity today - her year group at nursery were just singing at the end but she was so cute (biased - moi) and i blubbed a little. God knows what i'll be like next year when she'll have a proper part

gillystarrynight · 14/12/2007 17:21

How sweet! I cry at just seeing little babies, if i saw a child of mind acting or singing I'd be a wreck!

Thanks for the tips, it is the practice manager that I'm seeing so i do trust her. I had day 1 and 20 tests as I have a short cycle (and lo and behold that month I had a 27 day one!!!). I agree that registrars are great. I saw one in Newcastle during the mc and she was brilliant, she even called me at home one afternoon to check that I was OK after the mc and to give me words of support for my next pg. Sadly it has taken sooo much longer to conceive than I thought at the time .

Christmaspartypoppers · 14/12/2007 18:12

Hi ladies, just back from looooooooooooong treck accross london to hand my portfolio in - 45 mins before the deadline
Thanks for the advice - I kind of thought he'f just say bugger off you're fine so was a bit thrown when he said that he'd refer me. I had bloods done back in June (day 12???) and an US scan (both types and apparently nothing wrong. I am sure is that I OV so late - only 7-8 days before AF comes in a 35-40 day cycle...I tried to tell him this but he wasn't really listening
How do I go about getting a private appointment - Dr said would cost thousands - but not is I just do the first referral with them? Haven't thought about IVF - the very thought scares the shit out of me - think would be the end of pops and the end of my relationship as this lot has been trying enough as it is and he's been fab
Hope everyone is having a fab Friday night - I have to go to the pub (woe is me) - have been putting it off as still jaded but phone keeps ringing arghhhh

Have a good weekend everyone - seeing MIL tomoz - I just love the MIL stories tonight - mine is a SAHM and very very OCD - have been told not to buy her a present...ummm ........okay
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Christmaspartypoppers · 14/12/2007 18:13

p.s. i DON'T WANT TO BE INFERTILE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

HMMM MAYBE A STIFF DRINK IS A GOOD IDEA AFTER ALL

Wheelybahhumbug · 14/12/2007 18:39

Hi Pops - A friend of mine who had IVF for her first child says you can do first appointment privately (£200 ish) and then they do a lot of the other stuff on nhs. Obviously some of the 'stuff' you have to wait a long time for - ivf etc but at least if you have the initial consultation privately you know where you are more.

Having said that if its an up to 4 month wait I think I would go for the nhs - I'm thinking if its a 6 month wait we will go private (or if it takes so long to get dh's sample that time has reaallly ticked on)

littlewifey · 15/12/2007 09:51

TJuice · 16/12/2007 18:03

hey

why is so quiet on here this weekend?
everyone hibernating or recovering or something?
I just got back from a double-bill at the cinema, with a macdonalds in between - the only way to spend a sunday, i think. (pre-kids obviously).

last night i "came out" at my friends xmas party, which was nice but now i feel more under pressure or something . . . weird! but felt quite frumpy - need new and clever clothes so show off (hopefully) burdgeoning cleavage and skim over chunky hips and tummy.

anyway, hope everyone had a fab weekend. i am so looking forward to coming back to the uk next thursday. i just sent my parents an email (aaargh -seems so chicken shit but i just wanted to get all this stuff out before they could interject or react in any way) so i hope they are just going to be happy happy when i get there (and not force me and dp down to the registry office or something.

Christmaspartypoppers · 16/12/2007 19:02

Mum got brain scan on tuesday and gets results Thursday so I hope then they will be ok and all bad stuff has finished. Roll on 2008. X

ronshar · 17/12/2007 09:28

Morning ladies.
After heatbreakingly good news from best friend I have hidden all weekend. Being a horrible resentful bitch. Luckily it was done with 'mums' from school in a spa! So it could have been worse. The best thing was I didnt think about TTC once. And I think I am at my lucky time, bollocks to lucky. Lost all hope now.

I am off to Brighton to do some xmas shopping. One of my friends is going to receive a "Rabbit" for Christmas. Not sure if I will be brave enough to go into Ann Summers but I shall try.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Christmaspartypoppers · 17/12/2007 09:44

Morning Ronshar was fretting about you. Did she tell you infront of everyone? I hope you can have a fab day shopping today - get yourself something nice - a treat for being so fab! Sending big who gives a fuck hugs
