@thislittlebird my second ivf cycle never got to transfer and I got AF on day 23. I felt like my next cycle was also going to be super short so I started the norethisterone on day 23 and in the end that cycle was 36 days because my period took about 10 days to start after I stopped the norethisterone. The first time my periods stayed regular but a I had zero ovulation symptoms, this month is the first since January when I truly thought I'd ovulated.

thislittlebird · 31/07/2021 16:15

@Motherofkittens28 natural ovulation is exciting when it happens for me lol (rarely)

I think my period is starting and it’s the first month in many I haven’t had a big cry as a result of it. We can’t try from July-September so I know my not pregnant, it’s just a step closer to starting ivf, which is a little exciting.

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/07/2021 22:04

@thislittlebird I hate the tww too, try to ignore it lol and that's EXACTLY my issue! I want to lose some weight and then gone up but it never happens! That sounds really good about your doctor - more of a personal touch. So is he turning the job down now?

@MIW01 well I'm back at the gym and trying and I'm going on measurements rather than weight to see if that helps! Good luck with the ivf!! How are you finding sussex downs? That's where oh had his sa as it's only 20 minutes away from us! They seemed really nice when we went there for that

@Motherofkittens28 omg one OMG!!!! So so pleased for you 🎉 I really hope this is your sticky little bean and it was just all the stress of ttc and the wedding getting to you that stopped it before - that's amazing about the clinic too

Ttc no #3 but no #1 together, ttc cycle 40 miscarriages, adenomyosis and suspected endo

We can only do our best @Marvellouslymadmum my acupuncturist said I shouldn't go around feeling hungry all the time but that's only thing that works and I kind of think we'll, I have reserves so it can't be true hunger. Health professionals say that abdominal fat and type 2 diabetes are more dangerous than high BMI and that's what I have with a BMI of 23 so my gut says sticking this out will be helpful. I'm not sure about Sussex Downs so far as they haven't taken fiancée's DNA damage test or varicocele diagnosis into consideration at all! So we will wait and see. I did like our nurse though who was very positive when we discussed my low AMH & AFC, she reiterated quality over quantity and that it just takes 1 good egg for it to work (and sperm of course)! So our motto is hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

kerrym87 · 01/08/2021 09:31

@Motherofkittens28 everything crossed for you! In terms of jab, check with clinic too but royal college of obstetricians are recommending it as being safe as you're at more risk of becoming unwell with covid whilst pregnant and having to have baby early but it is personal choice. So pleased for you!
@MIW01 BMI of 23 is fine, 18-25 is healthy Grin

MIW01 · 01/08/2021 11:16

@kerrym87 yeah BMI is fine but I still have T2 Diabetes and 'waist to hip' ratio is in the at risk range (though it is all the time cause of my body shape) which they don't like so thought I'd give getting the fat loss thing another go!

@Motherofkittens28 was also thinking about my previous manager who fell pregnant accidently after her IVF baby. She was told she had 0% chance of natural conception and reduced chance with IVF. And I remember we all sat around talking about it and thought the IVF and her 1st pregnancy must have kickstarted her hormones and Reproductive system in general because she was 36 when she conceived by accident!

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/08/2021 11:43

@MIW01 weight loss is such an individual thing it's hard to say what will work for anyone really 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm definitely interested to find out how you get along, even if we don't end up going for ivf but try letrazole or clomid it'll probably be with them

Hi everyone, just got my blood test results back and the clinic confirmed that I'm pregnant. Said both hcg and progesterone levels were good. Big relief!

Sunbird24 · 01/08/2021 12:56

Wonderful news @Motherofkittens28!

Annny27 · 01/08/2021 13:29

I'm sooo chuffed for you @motherofkittens28 it must be such a lovely shock 💕💕

Motherofkittens28 · 01/08/2021 14:22

Thanks @Sunbird24 @Annny27, I still dont think it's quite sunk in! We have a scan in two weeks and I think once that happens it will start to seem more real. I so so hope this happens for you all as well!!

Sunbird24 · 01/08/2021 14:43

I’m now 6+4, but still not allowing myself to believe that this time will end up any differently from any of the others. On the bright side, it’s only 9 days to my first scan so not that long to wait to find out.
I’ve spent the weekend with my parents but not told them anything!

MIW01 · 01/08/2021 17:20

Keeping everything crossed for you @Sunbird24 that this little bean is a sticky 1! 😊

MIW01 · 01/08/2021 17:21

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum maybe we'll be in there at the same time? So I'm due to go to the clinic on the 6th, 11th, 13th, 16th & 21st August!

crazycatlady1981 · 01/08/2021 19:35

@Motherofkittens28 fabulous news!! Can I ask if you did anything differently this month or was it just that you weren’t focusing on ttc and just enjoying your wedding and mini-moon?

@Sunbird24 keeping everything crossed that the scan goes well for you! 🤞🏻 Must be difficult not to tell anyone, although I totally understand keeping it to yourself! I only told a couple of people about ivf and having to tell them it failed was like having to relive it over and over with each person I told!! 🙄

@MIW01 not long til your first clinic session! Is that for your baseline scan?

Theawkwardblonde · 01/08/2021 20:42

@Motherofkittens28 massive congratulations! Fan news to see on the thread!

I'm currently 18+4 with number 1. We were TTC from September 2019, fell in April following a MC in Feb. Touch wood everything is going okay 🤞🏻

MIW01 · 01/08/2021 21:16

Yes @crazycatlady1981 provided aF arrives on time and all looks well I'll start taking meds then😊

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/08/2021 22:55

So so pleased for you @Motherofkittens28 such amazing news

@MIW01 ooh we could be! My gynae appointment isn't until the 23rd and that's at the conquest in Hastings but if they refer me for any further tests/clomid etc I may get sent there apparently!

Looking forward to hearing all about these scans! 😍

Motherofkittens28 · 02/08/2021 09:02

@crazycatlady1981 nothing consciously different. I was eating cake and naughty things on the mini moon and drinking alcohol from the wedding day on, maybe the alcohol confused my body and it forgot to reject the embryo lol. We dtd a lot more than usual post when I think I ovulated (our wedding night), normally we stop after ovulation. I really have no idea, it was such a shock after all this time, literally two years as we started ttc in August 2019.

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/08/2021 11:08

@Motherofkittens28 it's that old saying of 'as soon as you relax and stop trying it'll happen' even though we want to punch people in their face when they tell us that 🤜🏻 😂

OP posts:
MIW01 · 02/08/2021 12:13

Lol @Marvellouslymadmum it does seem to be the way!

MIW01 · 02/08/2021 13:06

My medication will be delivered on Wednesday! I can already tell that this will mean going to stay with my Mum is going to be an absolute nightmare!

Sunbird24 · 02/08/2021 15:00

Ooh that’s exciting @MIW01!
I managed to do my injections this weekend at my parents without them knowing, but I did spend all of Saturday in my dressing gown on their sofa…

MIW01 · 02/08/2021 15:18

Oh your family don't know @Sunbird24 ? Mine do, my Mum is taking me to the scans, that's why I'm staying with her. I just mean it will be tough from the point of view that if I feel like crap I'm not at home in my bed managing it but I need someone to take me to the scans and my Mum won't come and stay with me atm

thislittlebird · 02/08/2021 15:29

I’m watching the consent videos and I’m getting really stressed out about the (admittedly small) risks of all this. I had to walk away and let me husband listen first for the video about pregnancy and health of the child risks. I got upset all over again about not being able to conceive naturally.
