@Narwhal88 I'm going to need all that excellent at injections energy. I'm such a bloody wuss with anything medical and he won't be here so it's all on cackhanded, anxiety-ridden me Confused

I had to wait a few weeks for my latest appointment with Mr Ramsay, so I'd say it's worth getting in touch with his PA soon if you do want to see him. There may not be so much of a wait though, he'd just got back from holiday before I booked in.

I really do think the daily ejaculation may have helped DH, that and the antioxidants.

Anyone here had IMSI? I'm not sure whether we really need it but I might give it a go on attempt number one.

Tofu35 · 28/07/2021 15:10

@narwhal88 he wants to go private because it means we can start next month, I think the waiting around and getting month after month of negatives is impacting negatively on him but he's very much a "let's fix it!" guy so wants to be proactive and get things moving. Sadly he's married a deep thinker, so moving quickly isn't in my skillset!

Ah my gym buddies @becarefuloutthere @marvellouslymadmum @juno231 @thislittlebird! Went to a fitness class this afternoon, I was the only one there so it was like having a personal trainer! Her specialism was 30 mins core workout- after 18 months of home working and crisp munching, my core probably needed it! Brutal start to my fitness 'journey' though, haha! Thought I could hide at the back, no luck.

Sunbird24 · 28/07/2021 17:25

@thislittlebird don’t panic - I’ve had to do all my injections etc alone and the thought is much worse than the reality! It is a bit like a science experiment but you do it so often you just get used to it. This was one day’s worth of my meds…

thislittlebird · 28/07/2021 17:29

@Sunbird24 I need to remain calm and remember you’re doing it as are others and it’s fine! What was your protocol? Looks like a lot but maybe I’m naive lol

thislittlebird · 28/07/2021 17:30

@Tofu35 sounds like you had a personal trainer!!!! I need to do some stuff from tomorrow. Coming back from holiday means i have no routine right now. Want to lose a few pounds before the ivf starts. 8 weeks roughly!

Sunbird24 · 28/07/2021 17:35

@thislittlebird it does look like a lot, but it was actually only 2 injections - the orange one at the top was one, and then mixing all the ones at the bottom to make the second. When I saw the green needle I nearly cried, but that one was only used to draw everything up into the syringe, then the tiny yellow needle was to inject it under the skin on my belly. Didn’t even feel that some days!
As @Narwhal88 said, we’re all here to help even if it’s just a bit of moral support

polejunkie · 28/07/2021 17:46

@thislittlebird you’ll be ok, I was worried initially too but super proud after the first one 😬 gets easier each time, I genuinely thought that was gunna the hard bit, how wrong I was. The constant waiting was / is the hardest haha x

thislittlebird · 28/07/2021 19:06

Thanks 🙏 @Sunbird24 @polejunkie @Narwhal88! I will definitely be fretting when it gets closer.

Need to book an appointment at the clinic with the nurse before the husband leaves. Got lots of consent stuff to fill in later/in the morning.

MIW01 · 29/07/2021 11:01

I feel you @Marvellouslymadmum my fiancée has the opposite issue and we need get him to put weight on! So he has waffles etc. While I pile my plate up with Brussels. I've started using Noom - have to admit, I've learned nothing new psychology but logging my weight everyday I think helps. I've finally got to sub 60 kg after a few months! (59.6 kg this morning) so I do intermittent fasting in addition to whole foods, low carb. For me that's 2 days a week of 1 meal a day in a 2-4 hour window and then the rest I do about an 18:6 eating window and I have 2 days a week in a calorie maintenance or surplus amd interestingly enough, it's after those days I see the biggest drop in weight! Caveat - I feel constantly hungry, but with IVF imminent I'm focused on the bigger picture!

Appointment this afternoon at the clinic to prepare to get started next cycle! So I'm sure I'll be posting on here a lot soon and will keep you all updated @Marvellouslymadmum @becarefuloutthere*@Tofu35 @Narwhal88* @Juno231 and I know there are many more of you. Thank you for tips and support throughout. I'll check in with needle updates @thislittlebird and we can get through it together on here! ❤ still waiting for my AMH blood test results which I've been dreading - 2 weeks yesterday and still no sign of them! I agree it's definitely all the waiting with this journey is the worst part. I'm thinking positive though and looking forward that I now feel so excited about becoming a Mum!

kerrym87 · 29/07/2021 11:08

I'm just waiting for AF to arrive to start letrozole...should be Sunday or Monday then just got to wait until IVF clinic appt September to find out what's what. Not sure how ill be able to work my shifts around it, will have to have a discussion with my manager after appt about my options. Not looking forward to that as not sure what we can do if they move egg collection and off duty done fir 8 weeks advance and I really don't want to use my annual leave as I'd rather have that for something less stressful like an actual holiday or relaxing to stay on an even keel.....

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/07/2021 13:13

@Tofu35 I really want to do some classes, I'm just putting it off as I'd be going alone lol

@MIW01 I did try Noom but I didn't get on with it, like you say didn't learn anything bee and nothing I do seems to shift any weight 🤷🏼‍♀️ im still on the muscle weighs more than fat bench and that way at least I think my body is changing for the better

I hate this time middle of the tww just want to eat, sleep and cry and it always makes lightbulbs go off in my head but means nothing 😑

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 29/07/2021 14:05

@MIW01 I need to get to under 60kg too. I’m 64kg right now which is too much for me and I need to get on it. Today my work laptop went kaput so I had to go in, detailed me a bit because I’d planned to run. Maybe I can do that later now. If I can get to 60kg or less before ivf I’ll be happy. Now I’m typing it I realise I’m not even sure it’s doable. Maybe, if I can shift one pound per week.

@Marvellouslymadmum tww sucks. I’m at the end of mine except I know I’m not getting a bfp this month so it’s much easier.

MIW01 · 29/07/2021 14:05

I'm on CD 22 @Marvellouslymadmum and I am still hoping that we won't need to go ahead with this IVF so really empathise with you on this 1! The only thing that works for me RE weightloss is to go hungry. If I feel hungry, I know I'll be losing weight!

thislittlebird · 29/07/2021 14:07

Ugh, hit post too soon. *derailed me a bit and I planned to go for a run but ended up eating a jam donut 😔

The problem I have with muscle weighing more @Marvellouslymadmum is I really just want to lose some fat first and then build muscle but I don’t do either lol

MIW01 · 29/07/2021 21:07

IVF Update
AMH 3.9
which is low! As you know. It was expected but still disappointing but nurse said quite is more important than quantity.

Medication protocol is:
Menopur 375
Fernryhur 250
Scan dates: 6th, 11th & 13th of August
Provisional egg collection 16th August
Provisional embryo transfer 21st August

We are hoping for the best! Planning for the worst. Is the best way to put it I think.

Sunbird24 · 29/07/2021 21:23

@MIW01 totally agree that’s the best way to think of it! Hope it goes well for you

polejunkie · 30/07/2021 05:52

Good luck @MIW01 how are you feeling about it all? That will roll round quick! 🍀 x

MIW01 · 30/07/2021 11:20

Thank you @polejunkie and @Sunbird24 tbh, I'm not sure. I think I'm a bit upset by the levels as it just confirms that I'm entering perimenopause at the grand old age of 35! This isn't unexpected but is a bit upsetting. The NICE guidelines in our area have a cut of of 5 for the AMH so if I was tested before we were referred then we would never have got the funding. So I'm very grateful for that! know this isn't an issue conceiving naturally because you're still fertile in perimenopause and you just need one good egg, it's the IVF is when it can have an impact. The nurse said to expect to retrieve 3 or 4 eggs but I know again, you just need 1 good egg and sperm and I know this happened for another lady on another thread I follow! I know once fiancée's varicocele is repaired that will increase our chances of conceiving naturally but of course I'm hoping we won't have to wait for that. So I am sticking to my moto of hoping for the best, preparing for the worst!

crazycatlady1981 · 30/07/2021 12:53

@MIW01 @thislittlebird so excited for you both starting your ivf!! 😊 Don’t worry about injections, once you’ve got the first one done, you’ll wonder what all the worry was about!! Make sure you’ve got ice cubes or freezer block to numb the area beforehand and you won’t feel a thing!
@thislittlebird have you got your schedule yet? Are you long or short protocol?

Just going into the tww now! Managed to dtd a few times during fw so hoping for the post failed ivf BFP miracle!! 😂
Good luck to anyone else in the tww!! 🤞🏻

@Sunbird24 @polejunkie @Sjhigs
Hope you ladies are doing ok, not long now til the scans!! 🤞🏻

@kerrym87 good luck with your letrozole next cycle! Will it be the first time you’ve taken it? Hope things go ok with your manager, I only had 2 scans and then EC and transfer so it’s not too much time off for ivf really so hopefully you can schedule work around it!!

Motherofkittens28 · 30/07/2021 13:10

Hey all, I think I need some talking down because I obviously going crazy. AF is due tomorrow and will mark exactly 2 years of ttc. I haven't been monitoring and I don't even think we really dtd at the right time what with all the wedding stuff but I'm now convicing myself I'm pregnant. It's clearly just fantasy as getting pregnant immediately after the wedding would just be too perfect. I'm having unusual cramps, super tired and my heart rate is about 10bpm higher than usual at this point in my cycle and its going up rather than down as it should be. I haven't symptom spotted for a while so surprised that I am now with avengence! I had an issue last cycle as I took norethisterone to delay my period to move it away from the wedding, you are supposed to bleed 3 days after you stop taking it but it took 10 days for me. I think it might have had the effect of resetting my cycle as I've had ovulation symptoms for the first time since my first ivf round. I'm babbling and I'm sure I'm just being stupid!

Annny27 · 30/07/2021 13:13

@motherofkittens28 only one way to find out....take a test 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@MIW01 sorry about your AMH values but like you say, you can still get a good quality egg with ivf even with low amh!

MIW01 · 30/07/2021 13:51

Thanks @crazycatlady1981 - I'm diabetic so no issues at all with needles, thankfully.

Thank you @Motherofkittens28 and @Annny27 I'm sitting on it and I think the excitement is on its way. I'm not driving atm and tbh, even when I do drive I'm not able to manage more than a 1/2 hour round trip, so organising getting to the scans is an absolute nightmare! But luckilly Mum & in-laws on board to help. The clinic is 2 hours away from us. I had hoped their satellite Centre would be open by now because that's only an hour away but nevermind, but we went for Sussex Downs as they had a better rating than some of the others and we didn't fancy a trek into London everytime!

thislittlebird · 30/07/2021 14:55

@crazycatlady1981 all I know so far is I’m short protocol, likely starting late September as I’m still mid-MMR schedule, and will be on Meriofert 225/150 on alternating days! Hoping they’ll send confirmation letter soon. I will say I’m pleased with the new doctor being good at comms. He gave me his mobile and said to text or call if I have any questions, he only charges for scheduled appointments which surprised me. I felt impolite doing it so I emailed the secretary yesterday saying I had forgot to mention my hormonal migraines and he called me on his mobile this morning to discuss it. I...think I like that? Feels reassuring to have easy contact if needed.

I think we’re putting the husband’s job move on hold now. I had a massive meltdown last night about the pressure of ivf plus relocating etc and I want to focus on one thing at a time and he agrees. We’ll move eventually, but first we’ll aim to get the ivf done.

Fingers crossed 🤞 @Motherofkittens28

kerrym87 · 30/07/2021 15:35

@Motherofkittens28 you're not being daft, it's what we all do. We took a break this cycle before starting letrozole next week but by chance we still dtd for fun around right time as my hormones made me feel the love! I know AF due next few days as I've got my brain back and don't feel exhausted but part of me still wishes it's not coming. I also had genuine symptoms one cycle that I've never felt before so convinced, was BFN so there's no rhyme nor reason. However, you're not out til AF shows so we all hang onto that little chance!
I just found out someone i know (was friends for years with her OH but drifted apart) has had 3 miscarriages, I feel for her and really wouldnt want to experience one but its still hard. Fed up with ttc and not looking forward to IVF but also want to get on with it. @crazycatlady1981 it'll be first time but it's a lower dose than usual cos theyre not able to scan to check for OHHS due to resources....I just need to balance what I do on my days off with having ME, its manageable but not sure of the effect of hormones and extra appts on top of that. Won't know till September but I'm sure manager will accommodate I very rarely have time off as it is

crazycatlady1981 · 30/07/2021 17:01

@Motherofkittens28 keeping everything crossed for you! Maybe test if af doesn’t show tomorrow? It’s good to still have those feelings of hope each month and not stupid at all! I felt completely rubbish after the ivf failed and lost all hope that it would ever happen, but I’ve started to feel back to normal now and excited about trying again!!

@thislittlebird that sounds like a good plan to put his job move on hold whilst the ivf is going on.
Your doctor sounds amazing too! It’s about time you had some decent service!!
We’re still waiting to hear about DHs job offer which would mean us having to up sticks and move to another county, but I’ve said it can’t happen until we’ve been through the frozen transfer as we’d lose our round.
