@Annny27 I'm in the lap gang too, endo found in 3 places and removed. Ivf month later and it worked!
Real shitty news there, hope the appeal doesn't take 6 months 🙈
@Marvellouslymadmum it's so weird! You could defo do with a lap. So they won't then or they wanting you to do other stuff first?

paintfairy · 20/10/2021 17:26

@Annny27 not really sure? I'm hoping not too long..... 🙈
That's frustrating about the nhs! God, it really is shite and so inconsistent.

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/10/2021 21:19

@becarefuloutthere the consultant I saw just wasn't interested in the endo/adeno at all, said that because I'd had children previously (16 years ago!) it wouldn't be that stopping me getting pregnant - nonsense if you ask me! Also said my tubes won't be blocked for the same reason 🤷🏼‍♀️ I spoke to the gp Friday and asked for a second opinion on the lap because I'm not happy at being fobbed off, I get that they're trying clomid as the wait for a lap is long but they haven't even put me on a list and she reluctantly said she will write a letter to the gynae department and see what she can do 🤞🏻 I know it may be a long wait but I'd like to at least be on the list

@Annny27 that is utterly ridiculous about timing for the funding resetting to zero! Anything to get out of helping people!
I'm 15+4 now so starting to relax a bit. I've got a scan on Friday to check my cervix isn't short after previous surgery I had on it, hopefully all OK there otherwise I'll need a stitch to prevent pre-term labour. I still can't believe we are at this point after everything, there is always hope ladies!

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 16:19

@Annny27 that really sucks about your ivf reset. It might work naturally for you yet, and you will get some good funding packages if you go private because you’re younger. I’m so annoyed having to wait, it always feels like the wait gets extended. I have the option to do a round with my private clinic from late November but my NHS round MIGHT be January. Might is doing a lot of lifting here, I feel like I’m destined not to get any nhs help, there’s always a spanner somewhere.

On the plus side I definitely ovulated on Letrozole this month. My progesterone was 108 nmol, which was quite the change from my last test of 10 a few months ago. Pretty sure it hasn’t worked but at least I’ve ovulated successfully after two years of trying.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 21:02

@Motherofkittens28 so pleased everything is going well for you, I've heard quite a few people need that done with the stitch

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 21:05

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m not aware of this stitch thing, maybe it’s for the best 😩

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 21:18

@thislittlebird I've heard of quite a few people mention it but it's usually because of a known issue

feliznavidad2 · 21/10/2021 21:29

@Motherofkittens28 I had the cervical length scan performed during my first pregnancy following a LLETZ procedure about 3 years prior. Hope yours went well today.

5dpo here and symptom spotting. 👀 Think it's coz I'm sort of wishing that I don't need to start considering surgery on the endometriosis/further investigations. Not spotting yet which is a win - last month it started on OV day and pretty much continued to AF. 🙈 😠

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 21:36

@feliznavidad2 that’s annoying that it was non stop.

I have to test tomorrow, I don’t want to. I prefer this bit before my illusions are shattered.

feliznavidad2 · 21/10/2021 21:42

Will think of you - good luck for it @thislittlebird 🤞🏻

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 21:47

@feliznavidad2 thanks, but my hopes for a natural BFP are long gone. I would like it not to ruin my day, at the very least lol

becarefuloutthere · 22/10/2021 08:06

@thislittlebird good luck!! 🍀🤞🏾

becarefuloutthere · 22/10/2021 08:07

@Marvellouslymadmum I hope you get on the list too! 🤞🏾 They can't just be so sure without actually even checking 🤨

crazycatlady1981 · 22/10/2021 08:39

@Annny27 great news that your lap went well! Hope you are recovering ok! So annoying about the nhs funding, my friend had the same issue after trying for about 2-3 years, finally got pregnant, sadly miscarried at 10 weeks and then they made her try for another 2 years before being allowed ivf. She did get pregnant first try with ivf though so it was a success story in the end!
Hopefully after the lap you won’t need help and will get your BfP naturally 🤞🏻🤞🏻x

@Motherofkittens28 great to hear things are going well with the pregnancy, it does give me hope that it may finally happen for us! 😊

@thislittlebird good luck testing this morning 🤞🏻

@Marvellouslymadmum fingers crossed for the clomid this month! I always find it boosts me when there’s something new to try and give you a little extra hope for the month ahead!

@paintfairy how are the stimming injections going? Hope you’re doing ok!

@kerrym87 I didn’t get any symptoms at all from the ivf injections and felt completely normal throughout until the progesterone kicked in and made me totes emosh!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/10/2021 08:50

@becarefuloutthere exactly! They already know I now have adenomyosis but insisted that wouldn't hinder getting pregnant which again isn't true! Hopefully I'll get a second opinion

@crazycatlady1981 thank you, I do feel like finally something is happening I just hope it works! I've seen loads of success stories but also loads it hasn't worked for 😬 hope you're doing ok?

@thislittlebird hope your ok today, did you test yet?

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 22/10/2021 08:59

Yeah, it was very obviously negative, as expected, @Marvellouslymadmum, I don’t expect anything else 🙃

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 09:04

@crazycatlady1981 OK thanks. It took me an age the first night to work out the drugs. Its pretty daunting and making sure you are getting it right. But last night was ok. Both of them seem to be ok, unlike the buserelin which stings unless you ice. I have been struggling with headaches on that so I'm hoping the stims don't contribute!
Downside atm is I'm coming down with a sore throat and DH has been ill with a cold. 🙄
@thislittlebird I'm sorry about the BFN. I never expect anything else either but it's still disappointing and frustrating. Hope you are ok.

thislittlebird · 22/10/2021 09:09

@paintfairy thanks. I’m mostly ok. I might get more upset when AF comes. It’s just very sad and predictable. I actually sat there thinking this morning about maybe I won’t have kids and I’ll just have dogs.

The disappointment is there because I know I successfully ovulated this month. Not sure how many more monitored Letrozole cycles to do, they cost £770 per month.

Glad you’re past the stimming stage!

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 09:14

@thislittlebird yeah that's not cheap! Its like I felt with the iui though. Kind of didn't expect it to work but you've changed something so think maybe there's a slight chance? I hated testing and I almost found it harder than just normal ttc months where I'd wait for AF. The whole thing is shite!

thislittlebird · 22/10/2021 09:19

@paintfairy how many IUIs did you do in the end? I never test normally, I just wait for AF. Now I have to test and it sucks.

That’s the thing, it’s really not cheap and eating into our private nhs fund. But we may have been pissing into the wind for two years if I don’t ovulate properly anyway. I think we’ll likely give it one more go and then skip December, and either start our NHS round in January or if there’s a delay we’ll just go private in January.

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 09:30

@thislittlebird yeah I think just waiting for AF is easier somehow! I hate having to test. We did 3 IUI. I think it depends on your issue but it seems to work almost first time for some people. If it doesn't, then likely it won't work the 10th either. Pretty sure I could have had 20 goes and it would have made no difference. Hopefully IVF might.
Yes you need to be ovulating! And if you are then really there should be a chance if that was your issue. How many times have you done it? I would say you need 3 maybe? After that I think I'd give up.

thislittlebird · 22/10/2021 09:40

@paintfairy anything to avoid the blank pregnancy test window tbh. We have two issues of my low progesterone and his low motility. So it IS a long shot, but I needed to feel like I was doing something since we have a 5 month wait for IVF (I was told 2-3 months and that turned out to be nonsense). Agreed, there always seems to be these people it works first time for. I envy those people 😬

This was our second cycle. And I know I had two eggs this month from the scan (and my progesterone was 108) so those sluggish sperm probably didn’t get there.

paintfairy · 22/10/2021 09:48

@thislittlebird ah you seem similar to us then. I think you need 3 attempts to give it a fair go. Maybe 3rd time lucky?

thislittlebird · 22/10/2021 09:53

@paintfairy have you guys got MFI too? yeah, I’m thinking three cycles is a fair shot. At least we’ve tried then, and we’ll have a few months to rebuild the savings for any private IVF we’ll need after the funded round in the new year.
