@thislittlebird yes! We should swap 😂 I'm not sure how much it costs to just see a gynaecologist about such things 🤔 I know it's silly money for a lap privately about £5-6k as far as I've been told 😳

@Marvellouslymadmum so she didn’t offer you one so I would consider seeing a private gynaecologist (or an nhs one in their private clinic) and asking them if they think you need a lap. If you have their support you should be able to get nhs help with one imo. Sometimes a second opinion does wonders. The private appointment should only be £200 ish give or take.

You can tell I’ve been forced into the private sector and now I’m like “oh ONLY £200, a bargain!”

@thislittlebird I’m the same! Having to pay for everything due to going solo, my gp won’t even prescribe the progesterone supplements that have been suggested as being useful to support a pregnancy I’ve achieved through private treatment. They did do the blood tests for me though so maybe I shouldn’t complain too much

@Sunbird24 yeah, I do think that’s harsh though. If any doctor has said you need progesterone it doesn’t seem like a big deal to prescribe it to me (especially when it’s pretty cheap).

I think my CCG does help solo women conceive now, I don’t know a lot about it but I think they updated their policy for same sex and solo women a few years ago. But not all will do that yet, I’m sure.

No, and at 43 I’m sure I’d be outside their age range if they did!

The lady I saw Monday didn't think I had any children at first (maybe I shouldn't have corrected her) it wouldn't have made any ivf difference as cut off is 39 here but maybe she would've looked at reasons why it's not happening more 🤷🏼‍♀️

This morning is embryo transfer day! Scheduled for 2pm and my FIL is taking me. Have to admit a bit upset fiancée isn't there with me! Been told I need to empty and refill my bladder and hour before the procedure. Well the journey to the clinic is 2 hours for me! So have planned to stop off at a pub en-route to have some lunch.

Good luck @MIW01! Can’t believe you’re already having a transfer, that’s flown by. How many did you have left in the end? I know you were thinking about what to put back in.

@Marvellouslymadmum there’s some of them who just don’t seem to take the time to even read your file. I know mine didn’t seem aware of my history.

Thanks @thislittlebird don't know how many I have left still in the running atm, if more than one I think will depend on the quality of the embryos! If they aren't great quite then will have 2 put back in. We had 3 in the running on Monday.

I’m back in work today, we’re badly undermanned and I think it might help to stay busy. Mostly ok for now

I’m probably going to take all next week after the surgery, so I need to make sure my team are in a good place. My deputy starts back on Tuesday after a month off so I don’t want to leave him with a mess to sort out if I can help it.

Thanks everyone @thislittlebird @Sunbird24 @polejunkie @Motherofkittens28 we had 1 very good quality 1 so just had the 1 put back in! Was a bit of a kerfuffle as despite following instructions to empty and refill bladder 1 hour prior which I did with pint of diet coke and 1/2 pint water, my bladder wasn't very full so they couldn't see very well! Had to do 2 attempts as embryo went back up the tube!

@MIW01 great news on the embryo!! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare though plus having to do it twice! I had to wee on the way to my transfer too, but then had a couple of hours for my bladder to refill! They didn’t even mention it at the transfer though and didn’t do ultrasound anyway! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Keeping everything crossed for you! When’s your OTD? x
