Hi ladies. I've been quiet but there's not much going on here. Sent my IVF funding application in 2 weeks ago tomorrow and got an email today asking for OH's bank statement showing his salary being paid in. I sent that through with the pack so this already isn't a great sign of their organisational skills lol.

Annny27 · 23/08/2021 10:09

@juno231 why do they need salary information? Didnt realise they needed that info!

@MIW01 have they given you any update on the embryos?

thislittlebird · 23/08/2021 11:13

@Juno231 how weird, they asked for a bank statement? I have not heard of that before

I’m not up to speed here, nothing much happening, I’ll have a read to catch up

Juno231 · 23/08/2021 11:19

@Annny27 god knows - and I find every clinic seems to do things differently anyway? As part of the application they required both of our bank statements showing salaries being paid in - it was part of the check to see if I'm eligible as it proves I live and work in the UK.

Sunbird24 · 23/08/2021 14:13

I’m out again.

polejunkie · 23/08/2021 14:28

@Sunbird24 I’m so sorry you had to get through such an agonising wait for that to be the outcome. Sending you so much love. Do you know what happened, could they give you any information at all? I know you’re probably not but I hope in time you’re ok x

Annny27 · 23/08/2021 14:59

So sorry lovely @sunbird24 :(

Have they told you next steps- natural management/ medical management/ erpc?

Thinking of you, it's such a hard timenedpecially going though this multiple times like you have 💕💕

Theawkwardblonde · 23/08/2021 15:48

@Motherofkittens28 for me it hasn't gotten better. I'm nearly 22 weeks. Still spend every day stressing. Don't think it helped that I've been in a and e twice with very (and I mean heavy) bleeding. Which also means I've had extra scans! Don't know the solution for worrying I'm afraid but I think it's normal 😂

@Sunbird24 really sorry to read this and that you had to wait so long to find out. Sending hugs your way.

Sunbird24 · 23/08/2021 16:00

I’m booked in for surgery next Tuesday so they can take it for genetic testing, that will help determine what I do next. Had a little cry on a very tiny nurse then managed to drive home

MIW01 · 23/08/2021 16:34

I'm so, so sorry @Sunbird24 how awful you were made to wait all that time only to find that out when they were supposed to see you earlier. Sending all our love here ❤

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 16:44

@Sunbird24 I'm so sorry this was the outcome for you again, as horrible as it will be it is good that they're doing genetic testing for you though, take care and sending hugs your way

So I fiiiinally had my appointment today! 😑 I was in there for all of 12 minutes! She asked a couple of questions, thought I had no children which I automatically corrected then kicked myself but then she reminded me that they couldn't offer icsi or ivf anyway as the nhs cut off is 39 here. Did another pelvic exam, said all my results so far were good and oh's as was very good! Was not interested in the slightest about endo! Dismissed it completely, said as I've been pregnant before it's highly unlikely that's causing infertility and the adeno will be what's effecting af and pain but that won't effect fertility (not what I've read) she also said highly unlikely my tubes are blocked as I've been pregnant before and therefore she will only check those as a last resort. She did say the only thing she can offer is a 'tablet' which I presume she means clomid or letrozole so she's sending me for another blood test for Progesterone and amh, gave me a form and told me to make sure it was done on days 21-23 (even though last two cycles have been 43 & 49 days) and that works out this sat/sun/Monday - talk about bad timing! So I've booked it for Tuesday and hoping that's ok, then she practically threw me out the door telling me she will call in 4 weeks with the results 🤷🏼‍♀️ mixed emotions right now!

polejunkie · 23/08/2021 19:13

@Sunbird24 I hope the genetic testing means you’ll get some answers, what a tough week ahead, especially after the last week of emotions x

crazycatlady1981 · 23/08/2021 19:34

I’m so sorry to hear that @Sunbird24 sending lots of love 💕 hopefully the genetic testing will give you some answers xx

@Marvellouslymadmum not the most useful appointment then!! Have you had all those tests before or is that first time for progesterone & AMH?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 20:01

@crazycatlady1981 no it was sort of helpful and sort of not! I've had progesterone before but not amh so that'll be good to know

@Juno231 I was about to be outraged, but then realised you are not from the UK, is that why? Otherwise its definitely weird asking for a bank statement. All we gave was a driving licence to be photocopied. That was literally it.
@Sunbird24 I've replied elsewhere but I don't want to ignore what you've said here. I do have a mental image of you drowning a tiny nurse though. 🤣 I do hope they can find a reason for you, so that moving forwards they will be able to help you. I'm pleased they are doing something. Cry all you want to xxx

thislittlebird · 23/08/2021 21:05

@Sunbird24 I’m so sorry about the outcome. Really hoping you can get some answers from the genetic testing.

@paintfairy that would make some sense. I was confused by them asking for a bank statement too.

Juno231 · 23/08/2021 21:19

@paintfairy @thislittlebird maybe but it just seemed like standard paperwork and OH had to fill out the same even though he's British 🤷. I can totally see them having us down as something wrong in their database though.

paintfairy · 23/08/2021 21:26

@Juno231 oh. Dunno then. That seems bizarre to me. My ivf paperwork was literally tick a clinic and us both sign and date a form.
Prior when we went for iui we had to show ID (driving licences) and DH sign to say he agreed to iui. We've literally done nothing else. 🤷‍♀️

kerrym87 · 23/08/2021 21:55

@Sunbird24 thinking of you

Motherofkittens28 · 24/08/2021 08:49

@Sunbird24 so very sorry to hear this. Thinking of you xx

Sunbird24 · 24/08/2021 20:52

@Marvellouslymadmum were they suggesting that tubes can’t get blocked once you’ve had a baby? That doesn’t sound terribly scientific to me!

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/08/2021 21:04

@Sunbird24 yes that was pretty much what she said! And since the last time I had a successful pregnancy was in 2005-2006 I think there's plenty that could've changed in that time! I mean I don't think blockages just happen at the beginning of puberty 🤷🏼‍♀️ hope you're doing ok

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 21:05

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah what @Sunbird24 said. Surely blockages could happen? If appendicitis and abdominal surgery can cause blockages, couldn’t birth? 🤨 I’m no obgyn, although I feel like I could be after all this time ttc lol

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/08/2021 21:23

@thislittlebird that's my thoughts too, she just seemed keen to put it all down my age and have me out the door so she could pop me on letrozole or clomid and be done with me!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 21:27

@Marvellouslymadmum annoying! Meanwhile, the crap gynae I saw just wanted me to have a lap and didn't offer me Letrozole or Clomid, which she probably should have. What fun! You could always do what I did and get a private second opinion?
