How are you feeling today @MIW01? Congrats on the 6 eggs!

@Sunbird24 Monday will be here in no time

Motherofkittens28 · 21/08/2021 09:21

Congratulations on the 6 eggs @MIW01

MIW01 · 21/08/2021 10:39

Thank you @Sunbird24 @paintfairy @polejunkie @Annny27 @Kerrym87 @Marvellouslymadmum @Motherofkittens28 @Crazydoglady123 @becarefuloutthere

3 eggies fertilised 🐣 we are going to wait until day 5 for Embryo Transfer. Being realistic it's unlikely that all of them will survive but if we do have 2 survive - the question is do we put them both back in?!

becarefuloutthere · 21/08/2021 15:12

@MIW01 congrats! What's the dr saying about going for 1 or 2?

MIW01 · 21/08/2021 16:13

@becarefulouthere Basing it on age we initially agreed 1 but as I'm headed for early menopause with AMH of 3.9 I'm thinking if we have 2 then let's just do 2.

paintfairy · 21/08/2021 22:43

@MIW01 do you feel a bit better now? Doesn't sound fun at all. Yay for the fertilised eggs.
Personally, no, i wouldn't put 2 back in if I only had 2. Because if your body just fails after all its been through, then you've lost everything.

becarefuloutthere · 22/08/2021 11:52

@MIW01 I tend to agree with @paintfairy cos then you get two goes rather than one but up to you and how you feel about it. What ever you decide will be the right choice for you. ♥️

Crazydoglady123 · 22/08/2021 12:33

@MIW01 I wouldn't myself again. I didn't realise the risk of Vanishing Twin Syndrome if both did implant which is 30%. I think the percentage of success transferring two only increases by a couple of percent. I'd maybe look at other things to increase the chances such as embryo glue which I think increased implantation by 7% on something I read when I was researching

MIW01 · 22/08/2021 13:05

Thanks for sharing @crazydoglady123 I don't think we get any of that because we're NHS funded patients I think we only get bog standard stuff 🤷‍♀️

kerrym87 · 22/08/2021 13:16

@MIW01 our trust does embryo glue x

Crazydoglady123 · 22/08/2021 14:23

@MIW01 it's worth checking as some places you can still pay for the add on even if you're having NHS treatment

polejunkie · 22/08/2021 14:36

@MIW01 we were NHS funded and were offered embryo glue, although the advice we received was that it’s not really worth it 🤷🏼‍♀️
I must admit I was agonising over the 1 vs 2 and the decision was made for us (only one survived) I wish I hadn’t spent so much time considering it as the decision was out of our hands in end. If you can have two separate shots, then maybe give both embryos an equal opportunity, you also never no - that could be two siblings right there x

MIW01 · 22/08/2021 15:56

Thanks @kerrym87 @becarefuloutthere @polejunkie @Crazydoglady123 I guess I will speak to them all about this tomorrow amd find out . . . My womb lining was 4 mm at the last scan before the egg collection so I'll discuss with them what we can do about that. I'm using the cyclogest pessaries atm.

Sunbird24 · 22/08/2021 16:37

@MIW01 I would probably do them separately but you have to do whatever you feel most comfortable with. Hopefully your lining has thickened up nicely!

Motherofkittens28 · 22/08/2021 18:52

@MIW01 a friend of mine ended up with two siblings from two embryos (one ivf round) a few years apart. Utterly amazing but it can happen!

Motherofkittens28 · 22/08/2021 18:54

Hoping this isn't an insensitive question but for those of you lucky enough to have got pregnant did you endlessly worry about the pregnancy and whether it was going to get through to 12 weeks? I am worrying all the time, every odd twinge, tiny reduction in symptoms and I'm convincing myself it's all gone wrong! I saw my baby's heartbeat last Sunday at 6 weeks and I have another scan on Tuesday but I'm just so terrified. How did you ladies get through it??

polejunkie · 22/08/2021 19:09

@Motherofkittens28 I’m struggling, I feel like it’s gone wrong when I wake in the night or if I have 10 mins of no symptoms, it’s a very challenging time - you’re certainly not alone. I saw heartbeat at 7+3, currently 9+5 and don’t have another scan until 12+3 and am constantly worrying that there’ll be nothing there. Still the days are ticking by and you do just kind of push those worries to the back of your mind, I think it’s relatively normal, but I’m happy for someone to tell me it’s not 😬 x

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/08/2021 19:49

@MIW01 congratulations on the three eggies! For me it would depend - if you have the chance of a frozen round if this one failed I think I'd do that and if not I'd put them both in and hope for the best!

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/08/2021 19:50

@Motherofkittens28 it's definitely normal to have those feelings, I know I'd definitely be like that if I ever get another bfp. I have spoken to so many people on mn that have got pregnant after struggling and have all felt the same.

Just catching up on everything! Had the week off so been busy having some nice days out with DH!

@MIW01 sorry to hear you felt awful after EC, hope you are feeling better now and yay for your 3 embryos! 😊 That’s great news! Fingers crossed for the transfer!

@Crazydoglady123 I’m so sorry to hear about your loss 💕 that must be such a difficult thing to go through. Hope you are doing ok

@Sunbird24 sending lots of luck for your scan tomorrow, I can’t even imagine what you’ve been going through, it’s awful they couldn’t fit you in for another scan sooner.

@paintfairy I’m with care too! They are really good, much better than the satellite clinic I’m having to deal with for all the appointments!
Hope you get to start soon!!

@Marvellouslymadmum good luck for your appt!! Hope you finally get some help and answers! 🤞🏻

We finally had our follow up appointment last weekend with the satellite clinic consultant who has literally nothing to do with our ivf! It lasted about 3 mins and all he said was that we could start our fet next cycle.
So I’m currently doing a trial cycle and have to do progesterone blood test 7 days after my LH surge so that they can determine if I can do a natural cycle or not I think. I was hoping to just do a medicated cycle but I don’t seem to get a choice 🤷🏻‍♀️ But at least it’s all underway again! 😊

paintfairy · 22/08/2021 21:02

@crazycatlady1981 it was hard working out if they were good or not. Because despite being all one business- every clinic seems to have completely different reviews! Not helpful to you if you are dealing with more than one clinic and not both are great either? I would have thought you would have got a choice? I mean- some people want to go natural, which is fine. But if you don't then you shouldn't have to?

crazycatlady1981 · 22/08/2021 21:47

@paintfairy yeah they are all a bit different I think. Mine wouldn’t let DH in for transfer but other care clinics did!!
Its all a bit confusing and no one has really explained anything to us! If we were just dealing with care, it would be much easier, and they said I get to choose, but for some reason the satellite clinic says that care only does natural fet! I’m trying not to get too stressed out about it all and just go with the flow as I was mega stressed after the last transfer and I don’t think it helped things!!

paintfairy · 22/08/2021 21:52

@crazycatlady1981 yeah I thought they were letting partners in for transfer and nothing else? It is all very confusing. 🙈

becarefuloutthere · 23/08/2021 06:49

@Motherofkittens28 totally normal to think the worse when you've been through infertility or Ivf but as @polejunkie said you just kind of put it to the bk of your mind and try your best to take each day as it comes. Thinks that kept me comforted was the high embryo grade, remembering what it was like to see the heartbeat and then the physical symptoms even if they do come n go.
@crazycatlady1981 glad you've had your appointment and can get going again, like you say, that's the main thing. Hope all goes smoothly ♥️
