Cerazette stories please.

After being on cerazette for 7 years, my OH and I have decided to TTC baby #3.

While on cerazette my AF stopped completely, at the time I thought this was wonderful, but now we are TTC, I have no idea what my cycle is or when it will ever come back. 😭

I have 'only' been off Cerazette for 5 weeks, which I know in the grand scheme of things is a very short amount of time. I know I just need to be patient and let my body find its groove again. But every day feels like a lifetime, waiting for AF.

I haven't had any sign of a withdrawal bleed or anything. I was expecting to atleast of had that by now?!
Lots of bloating, sore boobs and cramps, but nothing else.

I should also say, I am 37. So I have that little (irrational) nagging voice in my head telling me my body clock is ticking. Hence the lack of patience and added anxiety. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Please share your stories of coming off of cerazette. Did you have a withdrawal bleed? How long did it take for AF to arrive? How long after stopping cerazette did it take for you to conceive?

Thank you. ❤

Hi everyone 😊
I've spent the last 3 months lurking on the post pill threads! I'm 93 days deep into my cycle. I came off fegestorol at the start of May and have had zero anything (withdrawal, spotting etc) but i have had every symptom under the sun...its been an expensive three months with FRER tests and alot of tears in this household... My GP said it could take up to 6 months for my cycle to return! I just wish they would have told me this all those years ago tbh. Good luck to you all! 🤞

@feliznavidad2 Fingers crossed for lots of positive news from the GP and ultrasound!!

OP - did it return?!

Stumbled across this as i stopped cerezette 4 weeks ago, have had PMS symptoms for 10 days and no AF. Google is useless for finding the 'not so normal' i guess. Ive taken a test this afternoon thats negative, waiting game i guess!

@Bexxe I never had a period before conceiving!

I stopped taking cerazette on the 7th of March.
I had really light spotting on the 1st of April - 3wks 4 days after stopping (like only there when I wiped, no need for a pad or anything, it was super light).
We were going to wait until after my first period to start ttc but for several reasons we abandoned that and started trying from the 11th of April.
On the 23rd of April I had my first positive pregnancy test. I couldn't quite believe it, so I took several more over the next few days.
It turns out that we conceived on the very first time officially ttc.

No period, and I'd been on the pill for 7 years.

I took so many tests as soon as we officially started trying, when I look back at my experience now, I know we were one of the lucky ones, but when everyday feels like a lifetime of just wanting that positive test, you really don't feel lucky at all.
It was so hard, there's so much uncertainty. Because I hadn't had a period, I didn't even know if I could conceive yet, but still I kept taking a test ever couple of days. After the heartbreak of each negative, I would consume myself with so many questions - can I even conceive yet, am I to old, how long will it take, did I take the test to early and I am pregant I just need to wait a few days.
It was such a difficult time.

4 weeks was around the time I got my light spotting, so with your cramps ect, it sounds like your body is working cerazette out of its system too.
I wish I could look into the future for you and give you time frames, I know how awful the uncertainty is. You just want to know what's going on with your body.
Try not to stress, easier said than done I know.
But with your pms symptoms your body sounds like uts doing what it needs to.
And if my experience is anything to go by, just because you haven't had a period yet, doesn't mean conceiving is impossible.

Sending you so much support, and baby dust.
xx

Thank you for your kind words and congrats to you!!!!
At this point i would just love to know what’s going on! Horrid feeling not knowing what your body is doing!
I’m now 4 weeks and 2 days since stopping the pill, still have all symptoms but no signs of anything. BFN this morning on a test, yet cervix still really high and hasn’t dropped. Also fed up of having sore boobs for 12 days 😂😂 xx

@deethra did baby arrive safely? Hope all is well.

I went to see the nurse practitioner this week as we’ve been a year now and no pregnancy.

As I thought, we don’t qualify for IVF because of my partner’s poor choices 18 years ago that mean he has an almost adult child. But… because I have had ovarian surgeries/removal in the past the nurse said she would refer me for bloods and scans to check all is well. I got the impression she was a bit surprised nobody had offered the egg freezing option before my last surgery.

She also said to stop trying to calculate when ovulation is and to relax and just have sex a couple of times a week as ‘you can do it too much’! So now I don’t know what to think!

deethra · 04/03/2022 22:14

@Fallulah Hey!! We had a pretty traumatic birth, but baby is here and 9 weeks old now. 😊💙

Gosh, this must have been such a hard difficult year for you. Fingers crossed the blood test and/or scans give you some answers.
Have they given you a time frame on when you should be given the scan appointment ect?

It's so easy for others to say to relax and stop calculating, the reality is not to simple.

Cerazette stories please.

I’ve booked the blood test and she was doing the scan referral as I left so shouldn’t be too long.
She said another six months and she will push for some extra support. I thought she was really nice and kind so happy to go with what she thinks for now. I also need to lose a lot of weight!

Fallulah · 05/03/2022 07:47

Congratulations though! Gorgeous bubba

feliznavidad2 · 29/04/2022 20:24
