Cerazette stories please.

After being on cerazette for 7 years, my OH and I have decided to TTC baby #3.

While on cerazette my AF stopped completely, at the time I thought this was wonderful, but now we are TTC, I have no idea what my cycle is or when it will ever come back. 😭

I have 'only' been off Cerazette for 5 weeks, which I know in the grand scheme of things is a very short amount of time. I know I just need to be patient and let my body find its groove again. But every day feels like a lifetime, waiting for AF.

I haven't had any sign of a withdrawal bleed or anything. I was expecting to atleast of had that by now?!
Lots of bloating, sore boobs and cramps, but nothing else.

I should also say, I am 37. So I have that little (irrational) nagging voice in my head telling me my body clock is ticking. Hence the lack of patience and added anxiety. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Please share your stories of coming off of cerazette. Did you have a withdrawal bleed? How long did it take for AF to arrive? How long after stopping cerazette did it take for you to conceive?

@Fallulah you've probably already said, but are you actively TTC? Or just testing to get an idea of your cycle? If you are TTC hope you're getting lots of DTD in during the flashing smileys! 😂

I can now say it definitely is a period as its gotten heavier. Still not actually much on the pad but LOTS when I pee 😂 I never ever thought I'd be so excited to see my period! Cannot wait for it to finish so I can properly get back to TTC! Really hoping to get pregnant first cycle so I don't have to go through another period though! 😅 don't know how we're supposed to do this every month haha!

I'm cd 7 now, period stopped the day before yesterday. Frantically weeing on OPK sticks (despite it not likely being ovulation time whatsoever...!) 🙄

I stopped taking the pill on 14th March.

Cycle day ten here and I think ovulation is close but the OPK say otherwise...

Day seven of high fertility here! I’ve read that it sometimes doesn’t pick up the peak. I actually think I ovulated on Tuesday/Wednesday. Anyway I don’t think we have had enough sex to have an impact this month! Will just be interesting to see what my cycle turns out to be.

When is your period due @Fallulah ? I think mine is due around 26th May, but conscious that my cycle could still be all over the place as only first proper cycle since stopping the pill.

Well the Clearblue app is saying 21 May but that can only be a guess since I don’t know how long my cycle actually is.
I’ve now read that it will keep showing High Fertility until it detects the peak so I’m thinking I might stop testing now as I think it’s missed it - don’t want to waste the sticks!

How do people have the energy to have sex every day when it’s showing high fertility?! I fell in to some kind of coma not long after getting home from school yesterday! Keen to avoid it becoming an obsession and all about making a baby too! I think this has real potential to mess with my head!

I think they say every other day is best, maybe that break helps 😅

I'm CD7, AF finished on Thursday. We're not testing for ovulation yet just doing to DTD as much as possible and see what happens

No joy on anything with the OPK sticks yet but am still weeing on them. And lots of EWCM. 🤔 CD13 here, so still time!

I’ve just stumbled across this. Had been on cerelle since 2015. Came off it once and got withdrawal bleed writhing two weeks. Been off since April 8th and no bleed. Did some OPK tests in April and got 8 days of flashy faces and than static on April 22nd.
Still no bleeding and BFN on test. Very frustrating as I’m sure I should have been due a few days ago. But very hard to tell since I’ve not had periods for so many years! Don’t know if I would have actually ovulated even though I got a static smiley face?

Hi @MissLB - not sure as new in this domain myself. Maybe try another pregnancy test?🤞🏻

My LH has risen today - finally! Going to test again later to see if it peaks... 😬 don't know why as not pregnant obviously (yet) but this feels exciting.

@missLB I think if you get the solid face you have ovulated. Period might just be taking its time, or maybe you need another pregnancy test?

Well having started this process just interested in seeing whether everything was working or not, I’m more upset than I thought I would be that we didn’t manage to have sex on either of my peak fertility/static smiley face days. My head is officially messed with.

I feel like my period has been trying to show up for a week. Lots of cramps and sore back, a little bit nauseous. Just wish it would so I knew where I stood. Very frustrating this waiting game 🙈

I can understand your frustration. We are getting married in a month and I just wanted to start letting my body get used to being off the pill rather than start trying, but now I’m fully invested in the process already

How are you @deethra ? I'm just about to enter first TWW... I've never DTD so much in my life. Hope I haven't err peaked on cycle one. 😆 🤦‍♀️

I'm OK thanks hun, we had a scare last week where I was rushed to hospital for an internal scan, but thankfully everything ended up fine.

I'm still waiting for a dating scan, I can't wait to have a proper due date.
Because I never had a period/cycle to go off, the drs have put date unknown on my record for now. Which is frustrating.

Glad you're ok @deethra - I can imagine it is frustrating to not know your due date yet. Fingers crossed you get one soon, please keep us updated. 😃

How's everyone? I'm in the two week wait and not doing a very good job of not symptom spotting. 😖 5DPO here.

Period arrived today, right on time for a 28 day cycle apparently. So at least I know that little old ovary in there is working!

Hi lovely ladies. I've spent the last few weeks reading through all the helpful chats on this page and thought it was time to join in!
I took my last Cerazette pill on 16th April 21 and have had no bleeding whatsoever. After about 2 weeks I had lots of cramping, tiredness and a really tight bloated stomach.
But it's getting on for 6 weeks now and waiting for af to arrive. I did a test at after about 3 weeks which was negative.
Not using any other protection at the moment but I don't think I've ovulated.
My sister was on Desogestrel (which I understand is another name for Cerazette) and her af returned within 3 weeks and she's now 12 weeks pregnant.

Felt like I needed some support from others in a similar situation

@beanie20030 I’m in a similar situation. Came off cerelle which is very similar to cerezette on 10th April and still waiting for AF!
Took OPKs middle of April and by 22nd I had peaked but the no AF and negative pregnancy tests. Took some more around 4 weeks later and again positive OPKS but waiting to see if I have AF this month or not. Should be due around this time next week if she’s going to arrive.

@MissLB We're very similar dates then! I've only done one OPK which was negative and I'm really unsure when to try it again. Maybe I should try every other day and see if there's a change.

It's got to be a good thing you've had positive OPKs though..... means at least that's working as it should be!

I'm 33 and was on cerazette for about 5 years and before that microgynon. I did have periods whilst on cerazette but only maybe 4 a year. Feels so odd to come off and not have a bleed.

I was on for about 6 years abd various other pills before that.
I’m quite positive that the positive OPKs were 27 days apart as well. So that’s pretty regular.
I came off the pill once before and had a bleed within two weeks so this is very confusing ...
yeah I started doing the tests out of interest to see if I could figure out my cycle fairly quickly.

How’s everyone doing? I got my solid smiley face on day 14 this month instead of day 18, which suggests my cycle still hasn’t settled down yet. Miraculously DH and I managed to both be awake enough to have sex on a solid smiley face day too, so who knows! 😂
