Cerazette stories please.

After being on cerazette for 7 years, my OH and I have decided to TTC baby #3.

While on cerazette my AF stopped completely, at the time I thought this was wonderful, but now we are TTC, I have no idea what my cycle is or when it will ever come back. 😭

I have 'only' been off Cerazette for 5 weeks, which I know in the grand scheme of things is a very short amount of time. I know I just need to be patient and let my body find its groove again. But every day feels like a lifetime, waiting for AF.

I haven't had any sign of a withdrawal bleed or anything. I was expecting to atleast of had that by now?!
Lots of bloating, sore boobs and cramps, but nothing else.

I should also say, I am 37. So I have that little (irrational) nagging voice in my head telling me my body clock is ticking. Hence the lack of patience and added anxiety. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Please share your stories of coming off of cerazette. Did you have a withdrawal bleed? How long did it take for AF to arrive? How long after stopping cerazette did it take for you to conceive?

Thank you. ❤

Glad I found this thread. I posted in Family Planning the other day that I had come off Cerazette after ten+ years of no periods on Good Friday but still no period. I did say then that I wasn’t actively trying to get pregnant but it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but the more I think about it, I would like it! I think I’m trying to manage my own expectations as I am 40 and have had previous surgeries so I think it’s unlikely.

So far nothing but really sore boobs!

I had timed coming off the pill to coincide with the Easter holidays as I am a teacher and had two weeks off, and thought my period would come then, but no luck! I will have to try and remember how I used to deal with it at work!

feliznavidad2 · 16/04/2021 21:24

👋🏻 @Fallulah sounds like you're in the right place.

I stopped taking the pill on 14th March - 33 days ago. Lots of intermittent cramping and achy boobs, and some v v slight spotting for about half an hour one day but that's it. 😣

Fingers crossed for us all that our periods/withdrawal bleeds (I'm calling it a period) come ASAP. 🤞🏻 🤞🏻 🤞🏻

Period pants are a lifesaver for me! (Teacher here too!)

Hi @fallulah
Sounds like you've found the right place. 😊

I'm 37, so I have a similar voice of reason telling me not to get to emotionally invested. That voice of reason is fighting a loosing battle though, I have to say. Haha.
Period watch for me has manifested into constantly wondering if I've already conceive and that's why AF is a no show.
In all honestly though, I'm not even sure if I've ovulated yet. (I'm trying to refrain from tracking ovulation).

I was hoping to not actively start TTC until my cycle had returned to normal (whatever that is), but I got to impatient 😅.

I'm sure I'd be driving myself crazy if it wasn't for this little thread, so hopefully it can help bring some support (and comfort) for you too.

We're all in it together ladies!! ❤

I think tracking CM is a good way to keep track of ovulating, without the stress of OPKs just yet! I had 5 days of EWCM so pretty sure I ovulated 2 weeks after coming off the pill but think we missed our chance as only started TTC the day after. I don't know if its possible to ovulate again without having a period in between so don't know when my next chance will be 😂

“ Period pants are a lifesaver for me! (Teacher here too!)”

Just ordered some! I genuinely can’t remember what it was like to have periods and I wasn’t a teacher ten years ago so this could be interesting!

deethra · 18/04/2021 12:06

Day 42 and still no sign of AF.
How's everyone else getting on?
@feliznavidad2??

I've been feeling 'heavy' at the base of my abdomen for about 4 days, so I thought something might be happening, but no signs of anything yet.
Achy boobs and lots cramps/lower back aches.

I did another test today, It's still to early I think, but my impatience got the better of me, haha.
It was another negative.
I need to stock up on some cheap but reliable ones I think. This is starting to break my bank balance 😂

Any recommendations on cheap but reliable tests welcome please.

Hope everyone's having a fab weekend.

Nothing @deethra 🙄 I've done a cheap preggo test from Tesco (freedom?) as they were only £1 for two, unsurprisingly it was a BFN.

I'm just telling myself I need to be patient now. And not stress. And drink lots of G&Ts in the meantime.

Sorry to hear you've not had any progress either, we'll get there. Hope you're not feeling too down.

Skyla01 · 18/04/2021 17:34

I didn't bleed at all on cerazette. After stopping it I had no withdrawal bleed. AF finally appeared after six weeks. Lots of symptoms during that time like cramps etc. In total took six months for my cycle to be regular and thirteen months to conceive. Bit longer than we would have liked but got there in the end!

My advice would be to try and not obsess too much in the early days (I drove myself mad), especially as pill might stuff up your cycle for a bit.

Good luck!

deethra · 18/04/2021 18:11

Thanks @Skyla01

I'm definitely at the driving myself mad stage. 🙈

I've decided to get some folic acid and vitamin d supplements tomorrow and try to focus this time on getting my body healthy, rather than constantly focusing on baby.
It's easier said than done, but I'm getting so emotional and down focusing on AF arriving or conceiving.
It will happen when it's meant to, I need to just keep reminding myself that.

@deethra that sounds like a good plan. Getting too obsessed with TTC is so easy to do but not good for your general well-being. It's fine if you conceive fairly quickly (hopefully that's still you) but as I experienced it can take a long time and you don't want to get driving yourself nuts for all that time.

Fallulah · 19/04/2021 18:11

Had all the old school symptoms yesterday - cried over something stupid, upset stomach, went very faint in the evening when I got up too quickly and was far too hot in bed. Felt a bit rough all day and there was definitely some pale pink on the tissue when I went to the loo when I got home from work. So it might be a withdrawal bleed - who knows!

deethra · 20/04/2021 11:52

Fingers crossed @Fallulah!!
How are you feeling today?

OP posts:
Fallulah · 20/04/2021 16:25

Spoke too soon - nothing happening today! I feel much better today too.

feliznavidad2 · 20/04/2021 16:32

I'm so bloated, but nothing else. 🤨

Keep dabbling with the idea of OPK sticks but think I'll get obsessed and not really sure how useful they will be when I haven't had any sort of bleeding since stopping the pill.

I'm trying to focus on being healthier, eating well, exercising regularly. But that's easier said than done at times. 🤫 😇

feliznavidad2 · 20/04/2021 16:32

Sorry to hear that @Fallulah !

Bibidy · 20/04/2021 16:34

Following with interest as planning on coming off Cerelle (think it's the same as Cerazatte just a different name) at the end of the month.

It's mad it can take so long for periods to come back, I feel like whenever I miss one I end up with a bleed a few days later. Must be just a weird coincidence as I'm sure that won't be my experience when I actually stop!

deethra · 23/04/2021 09:06

OK, so I dont know if I should let myself get excited or not!!

I took a test this morning
1- It's a cheapy from boots
2- I haven't had a period yet still since stopping cerazette
3- It's still to early to test yet really (12 or 8 days since DTD - but I'm impatient)
4- I'm 37 and was on Cerazette for 7 year (2 months off it now)

BUT, doesn't this look like a faint positive to you guys?
@feliznavidad2 Help!?!

@deethra !!!

That is definitely a positive. Get yourself a FRER. So excited for you.

deethra · 23/04/2021 09:42

I'm so nervous, what if the next test comes back as a negative. I'm so afraid to let myself get excited.

It's a faint line, I've taken the photo on my windowsill to try and show it in natural light. I'm so glad I'm not going crazy, and you can see something too.

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 23/04/2021 09:46

@deethra I'm rooting for you 🤞🏻 I understand your concern as to if you test again and it's negative but that's a pretty good line in my opinion and FRER are very sensitive.

Have you had any symptoms? x

deethra · 23/04/2021 10:05

I've got a clearblue ultra early test in the bathroom draw (it's says results 6 days before your missed period, but obviously I've had no period to go of off).
I might try that one?!

I've had a constant lower back ache, like a dull ache rather than pain. I've felt queasy the last couple of days too, but mainly in the evening, rather than first thing. I feel heavy in my abdomen too, I thought I was maybe going to come on yesterday. But nothing happend, hence why I thought I'd try another test this morning.

I just never thought it would happen this quickly, especially before having a period.
It took us a year to conceive our youngest (now 7).

Thank you!!
