Aha cbcb - I can't confess to the names I have picked until I have the babies to put with them! That way if everyone thinks they are awful it will be too late and they'll just smile and say "how unusual"!

I guess you'll find out in about, oh, 10.5 months!!!

poppysocks · 20/11/2007 23:33

cbcb - I feel terrible about some comments I made earlier in the thread about twins...when the signs were looking good last month and I was showing a symptom you'd had with your twins. I'm sorry I probably seemed negative about the thought of twins. I just know how hard it was for my Mum (and you I'm sure) and am not sure I'd be any good at handling it, esp. with one already. Hats off to you!

I meant to come back to thread to qualify what I'd said by saying how much I'd actually love it... in 18 years(!), but how scary it would be in terms of how we'd cope (we have no local family support network) as well as financially etc., but by the time I did the thread had moved on.

The twins thing in my family is pretty solid. DB and DS twins, grandfather had siblings who were twins and cousins are twins. Eek.

So... sorry if I offended you cbcb.

Other than that, absolutely nothing to report here. CD10. Family visits for the next week so suspect that this month will be a dud anyway.

cbcb sorry you got a bfn this morning. i haaaate bfn's, but have a knack for getting lots of them

I'm still a bit this morning. temp hasn't risen, and we didn't bd last night so now i'm desperately trying to console myself that if i ov today then the swimmers from two nights ago might still be there. I've had all sorts of cramps.

i'm supposed to have a day21 blood test, but i've been waiting for a temp shift so I'll know when I'm 7dpo. now i don't know when to go, should i wait for my temps to rise or should i go on monday which will be a week after i got the +ve opk?

sarahnh · 21/11/2007 09:33

oh ditigal girl, your body really does seem to be messing you around i know nothing about charting temps or about the blood tests but maybe you should keep your appointment just in case??? Sorry about your bad day yesterday too hugs xx

So sorry about your bfn cbcb, but its not over til the fat lady sings xx

Well day 12 here and feel like i have been hit by a bus, been have ewcm and cm for a week know, so don't know if i have ovulated yet or not, my poor dh is exhausted but not sure if we should keep going or whether i'm now on the official ttw!!!!

Sweetiesandcakes · 21/11/2007 10:25

Hi ladies - have been watching your thread and have heard you mentioned on other threads so congratulations you are obviously legendary - anyway hoping for a BFP next wednesday - can you tell me any early pregnancy signs in the hope that I can figure out if I'm pregnant or not as a week seems like lightyears away!

Morning all...

CBCB Why did you have to get a BFN too? that's soooo rubbish. I'm really sorry . I was hoping it was your month. When will the babies arrive for us all . Well AF isn't here yet and you are still 2 days pre AF so there is still a bit of hope.

DG chin up poppet. What are you doing on Friday? Maybe lunch will cheer you up. I have half day off again if you are around. We can moan about our lack of BFNs together. Invite extended to anyone else who is interested as well. (Gryffin can you sneak away?). I still want to sort some kind of Christmassy lunch but that seemed to have died a death.

Welcome Sweetiesandcakes good luck for your BFP.

abbey maybe your AF will come soon and we can pretend we are cycle buddies . Its lonely being at CD3 not to mention very boring, although I am using the time to accumulate all my accessories, ie. grapefruit juice, thermometers etc.

Hi to Sarah, Starlight, Scary and Coolcat and a big wave to everyone else. Hope you are all having the best day.

Bucky x

digitalgirl · 21/11/2007 12:45

welcome sweeties&cakes - eating biscuits, not eating biscuits, sore boobs, spots, bloatedness, dizziness, 'feeling' pregnant. these are all symptoms of the 2ww. whether or not they're symptoms of PG we only know when someone gets a BFP! oh, and 'no symptoms' is also a possible symptom.

thanks cbcb, am supposed to be going for a day21 blood test which checks my progesterone level. you're supposed to do it 7dpo if you're a late ovulator (which I most definitely am), but I'm now on CD25 and haven't ov'ed according to my temp charting. Have lots of CM today so am still in the running. Ov-pains are fading, so it's either egg day today or my poor ovaries have given up. DH has promised to BD tonight after last night's wash out.

bucky I'm off on Friday! I have a dinner in the evening, so it'll have to be a modest one, but yes meeting up for lunch would be just the ticket! will email you

07mumstheword · 21/11/2007 13:01

Hi Everyone. Wish I could join you for lunch Friday but I'm too far away. Have a slice of something sweet and sickly for me!

I'm crazy woman again! Stupid to test so early yesterday. Convinced myself BFN means BFN and delt with it well yesterday but today I have v v slight nausea (when AF due I need sugar fix so its probably from the chocolate I've eaten) and tiredness (but I'm always tired) so thinking aah could still be. I've been pg twice in the last 7 months so kinda know how my body changes and I don't feel any of those changes at the moment so should really accept BFN. I'm due AF on Friday so if no show I will probably test again over the weekend. I just feel like I'm going insane my mood is almost anger but I don't know what/who at. This all sounds very PMT!

07mumstheword · 21/11/2007 13:03

Sorry for my rant. welcome Sweets&cakes hope you get a BFP soon too.

JollyBear · 21/11/2007 13:17

Hello,

I joined the TTC baby waiting room thread but thought I'd pop in here too if no one minds!

I'm going to ask a question and I'm v sorry if it is foolish... but.... I always thought there was a set number of days (individual for each woman) between the egg being released and then if it wasn't fertilised the egg died and AF started. What I don't understand is how people ovulate at different stages of their cycle?! Would the egg have time to implant if you ovulate late?

Sorry if this is a silly question

digitalgirl · 21/11/2007 13:27

hi jollybear you're right that we each have our set luteal phase (days between Ov and AF). So if you ov late, then you get AF late, so it has time to implant. So when AF is late (and you're not PG) it's because you've ovulated later than usual. Stress, amongst other things, can delay ovulation, not lengthen your luteal phase.

JollyBear · 21/11/2007 13:32

Oh I see. Thanks digitalgirl! I'm learning sooo much about my body from reading these threads. TTC is educational and fun

ladyhelen2 · 21/11/2007 13:35

Gosh DG, I didn't know that about luteal phases at all. Thats really helpful. I knew about OV occuring a different times but not the luteal phase.
I've been able to work mine out from this months positive OPK test so this should help in the 2WW. Mine is 13 days, assuming you count day one as the day you OV.

I felt so nauseous this morning and yesterday. Couldn't eat breakfast - v unusual for me! Its a shame I got AF on Sunday or I'd have convinced myself this was a pg symptom.

GryffinGirl · 21/11/2007 13:43

DG Bucky - damn, I can't come . I'd love to meet for lunch, but I am off to Scotland on Friday morning for the weekend (sister's birthday shin-dig). Have a lovely time at the meet up!

DG - you are our TTC thread resident teacher . It's true, you do learn so much about being on here. I often wonder why they don;t teach this stuff as part of sex education at school ("Girls - Know your Body"). They talk about knowledge being empowering to young people, but it seems to me that it's all very well talking about using condoms, just say no, or whatever, but a wee lesson on EWCM, when you ovulate etc might also be useful. Not sure what everyone else thinks.

Loved the twins conversation below CBCB - DH has aunts who are twins and My mum is a twin, so I am slightly scared by all this talk of producing a brace! Although I am not Japanese, not obese last time I looked and it will be #1 (or two ?) for me if I conceive

hello to everyone else.

I am at CD14 today, so half way through and (I suppose) now on the 2WW . DH is keeping up his strength and we are managing to BD regularly, which is great, so fingers crossed for this month. We are off to see Amy Winehouse tomorrow night (if she turns up ) which I can't wait for, although I won't be drinking now I suppose. Don't think I have been to a gig before completely sober and detoxed

GryffinGirl · 21/11/2007 15:38

CBCB - haha, I agree. I should be p*ssed as a fart seeing Amy Winehouse! DH has already said that if we manage to TTC this month, any DD produced should be called Amy . Think he is getting his hopes up a little, not to mention that I'm not sure I'd want any DD to be taking after an alcoholic, anorexic, heroin addict, even if she is rather talented . Don't let the Yummy Mummies be snotty to you and enjoy the Christmas funraiser. Hope AF doesn't turn up, but just in case, down a few mulled wine before the proceedings start and tuck a tampon behind your ear, so they are in no doubt of the reasons for your early departure if you start clutching your abdomen and moaning with AF pains

sorry, I am just feeling silly today and have FAR too much work to do tonight, so I am slightly hysterical

Hope everyone is feeling a little happier today. Sending everyone lots of love and luck

Bucky2007 · 21/11/2007 15:41

pmsl CBCB at artillery belt. Unfortunately its not too far from the truth, I have grapefruit juice, brazil nuts, CBD OPKs just purchased, Pro Natal vits and would have a thermometer in my handbag (but they didn't have any in Boots today). A belt might make it a bit too obvious to my work collegues the fact they fall over my handbag alot is bad enough. I hope they never get a glimpse IN it!!!

Bucky2007 · 21/11/2007 15:46

Hey Gryffin sorry you can't make it on Friday we will miss you lots (and have more wine hee hee...I'm joking, I'm joking )

CBCB Maybe don't take gryffin's advice about the tampon, they will think you are a little strange (bucky is being sarcastic). You could do a Britney and wear a T shirt that says 'Don't mess with me muthers!'. That'll tell em. Or if not, I am sure the tampon thing will work.

Hmm, apparently Gryffin is not the only one feeling a little crazy this afternoon. Today I am mostly FED UP with talking about root barriers for bleedin' trees and trenches....arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .
