Hi ladies

I'm 23 and my partner (27) and I are TTC baby #1!

It was our first month trying this month and AF is due 2nd/3rd of March, so far just BFN! My cycle is roughly 26/27 days! But didn't expect to get pregnant first cycle so I'm feeling ok 👌🏼

Anyone else TTC baby no 1 with a similar cycle? 🥰 xx

@xojellybean, oooh well I wouldn't be to disheartened then! The femometer hcg ones are 25mlU compared to frer which are 10mlU so much less sensitive. I did a femometer one about 9 and it was white as a sheet did my frer on 12dpo which was the BFP! Even now the femometer strips don't give a particularly dark line at 17dpo 🤞

taytay2020 · 28/03/2021 12:16

@veronika13 I have kept my DH in the loop about my cycle, to make sure we don't accidentally miss my FW (otherwise we do have gaps of a week or more when life gets busy or we just aren't thinking about it!) but it turns out that knowing he could be getting me pregnant is a big turn off! It's been very frustrating!

I got quite upset about it this week, I know it's not his fault but it definitely feels like we're having more sex but ONLY when it doesn't count! And now even if I don't tell him when I'm ovulating he'll still be able to do the maths himself and have a good guess 😀

I'm 5dpo now and have written off this month, but I'm already planning a strategy for next month. I'm 'hilariously' trying to convince DH that sex does not equal babies, it's just a big coincidence! (I should add that he's totally on board with the 'having children' thing, he's just having a hard time forgetting about how monumental it is, whereas I'm quite happily still in denial about it!)

@genevive123 - I think the above sums up how I'm doing this week 😀 How many dpo are you now?

I think we might watch the Netflix documentary 'babies' this week. Has anyone seen it? I watched a couple of episodes last year and thought it was fascinating. Hoping DH will enjoy the prospect of our own scientific test subject hehe.

Hi Ladies, I was wondering if I could please join you?
A little background, I’m 28 and it’s our 1st time TTC and I’m so excited/nervous at the same time. I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing 🙈
I’m day 14 of my first natural cycle. I’ve been using the Femometer opk’s (I actually didn’t know about the app until reading this thread!) So I scanned my test strips which I’ve saved the last few days to compare. I had gradually increasing high readings for a few days (24%, 28%, 45%) then got a whopping peak 200% yesterday 😁 I’ve done another today and it’s still peaking at 182%... is this normal? I thought the LH surge rises quickly and drops just as quickly? But like I said- I have no clue what I’m doing.

After reading this entire thread (nerdy I know) you all seem so lovely and encouraging and hoping to find some ttc friends to help me figure it all out xx

Annwen · 28/03/2021 14:13

Hi all. Sorry I've been quiet last few days, but started testing Wednesday. Really, really not sure since and afraid AF was almost here. BUT, got this today! Still can't quite believe it - first cycle Smile Smile Smile Sorry, not good photo - shaking a bit! xxx

xoJellyBean · 28/03/2021 14:22

@Neom87 omg 🤣🤭 just ordered a couple of frers to try... Did not realise the Femometer ones weren't sensitive!!

@Clairabelle1 hey there!! Welcome 🤩 I had a peak reading for just over two days in the end 🤣 it was stressing me out! But defo sounds like you're gonna ovulate soon 🤞🏻 get busy! Also - are you temping? ☺️ xx

@taytay2020 ive added 'babies' to my Netflix list now 🤣🙈

@Annwen congratulations!!!! ✨🥰 I bet that feels amazing!

Neom87 · 28/03/2021 14:50

@annwenn!! Congratulations!!! Are you in shock? 😃 🎉 @clairebelle welcome!

Clairabelle1 · 28/03/2021 14:53

@xoJellyBean- Thank you 😊 feel better that it’s not just me. I’m definitely stressing out abit but I think it’s more because I don’t 100% understand everything yet. This is my first natural cycle since I started taking the pill 13 years ago and I thought getting pg was easy but there’s just SOOO much that goes into it!

@Annwen That’s incredible news!! Congratulations! Hopefully one of many positives for us all 🥰

xoJellyBean · 28/03/2021 15:08

@Clairabelle1 there's so much to it 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ hopefully you get lucky on your first cycle 🤞🏻✨

taytay2020 · 28/03/2021 15:57

@annwen yesss congratulations! I've been waiting all week for you to say this, I was so sure you'd get a bfp after those symptoms! 🎉

Kty09 · 28/03/2021 19:57

Omg @Annwen I’ve been wondering how you’re getting on!! Congratulations 💕 amazing news!

@Clairabelle1 hey! Welcome! I am 27 and in the same situation first time TTC, It’s crazy getting your head around everything! I think you are due to ovulate 12-36 hours after your strongest peak, so it can still be high, when it drops to low I think you know you would have ovulated then. Not an expert lol but that’s what I have seen! Good luck xxx

lisamxxx · 28/03/2021 21:03

@Annwen omg congratulations, I bet you are over the moon!!

Welcome!! @Clairabelle1

xoJellyBean · 28/03/2021 21:06

@Kty09 I'm so forgetful but what stage of your cycle are you at?? I'm also 27! 🤩

Kty09 · 28/03/2021 21:44

@xoJellyBean I’m on CD2 of second cycle, started AF yesterday. Last cycle was the first ‘proper’ cycle TTC and I realised I ovulated slightly earlier than normal around CD10 so still unsure about what’s normal for me really! I’m really excited this cycle just can’t ever imagine myself getting that BFP 🙈🤞🏼

Ella91 · 28/03/2021 22:22

@Genevive123 ooh my days just realised I know you from another thread, you were OP there too! That’s amazin your partner wants to TTC now, let’s hope you get your BFP (: I had BFN today so AF is en route ladies

xoJellyBean · 28/03/2021 22:22

@Kty09 ahh yes I see ☺️ all the best for this cycle!! Positive thoughts and baby dust 🤞🏻✨

Genevive123 · 28/03/2021 23:03

@Annwen wohooooo another positive! This thread is going well!

@Ella91 hellooo! Yes lovely we had a big chat and started TTC not long after, second month of TTC sadly BFN again today and AF due tomorrow, she's definitely on her way too! But praying for next cycle!!

Booked a festival day today for august and now stressing if I'm pregnant will I be able to go?? I think you can just don't go right next to the amp?

@Annwen congrats lovely honestly so happy for you!!! When is your due date ❤️

Veronika13 · 29/03/2021 01:04

@taytay2020 that's interesting you have more sex outside of fertile window, why do you think that is?
I haven't told my DP my ovulation days as I don't want him to think 'are you coming onto me because you want me so much, or you want a baby?' 🤣 also I feel like I can't obsess much because he's not across ovulation etc so that stops me banging on and on about the topic.

@Annwen wow massive congratulations, what a lovey sight 🥰🤩 also love hearing about people getting pregnant quickly, I think it gives everyone else hope :) so tell us your DP's reaction, and every other detail you're happy to share 😁

Kty09 · 29/03/2021 07:15

@Veronika13 I don’t tell mine either! We’re supposed to be taking the relaxed approach and if it happens it happens but I soon found myself researching everything 😂 my DP is very chilled so I don’t want to turn it into a stressful thing x

Veronika13 · 29/03/2021 07:29

Mines the same. I think it's good as if it doesn't happen this month, it helps me not to be going on about it. It also stops me imagining non-existent symptoms, as it is kinda 'business as usual' in our household . Helps me to carry on as normal :)

Annwen · 29/03/2021 08:03

Hi all, and thanks for all the congrats. Woke up this morning and it took me a few seconds to remember that I'm expecting a baby! Amazing! Sorry, could go on and on like this! DP is over the moon - we celebrated by making love in the most incredibly romantic and loving way last night. Don't think we've ever been more in love Smile
I calculate that I must be due sometime around Christmas, mustn't I?
Question is now, who do we tell? I only told one friend, who's trying herself, that we were trying. Any thoughts on sharing the news, or would most of you wait till the twelve week scan?
Congrats to everyone who's already had their BFP and my very best wishes to those still trying/waiting xxxxx

xoJellyBean · 29/03/2021 08:59

@Annwen omg 😭❤️ you guys sound so cute!! We've had the convo about when we get pregnant who do we tell but I honestly haven't a clue... Although there is something so lovely about only the two of you knowing for a while 🥰 xx

Kty09 · 29/03/2021 09:29

@Annwen that is so so lovely!! Congrats again 😍 Personally, I would choose to leave it a few weeks and tell close family after around 8 weeks then the rest of the world at 12. Just because I would hate for anything to happen and have to tell all those people. I guess something else to consider is if it easy to hide when you see people or are they going to know (if you had bad sickness etc) 🙈😬 make sure you keep us updated! Have you had any more symptoms? X

Annwen · 29/03/2021 13:18

@xoJellyBean @Kty09 I see the wisdom (and the sweetness) of keeping the news to just the two (three!) of us for now. I suppose the fact that people aren't really socialising these days - easier to hide the fact I'm not drinking, or maybe not hungry sometimes, for example. My sister said that was the 'give-away' when she was expecting. She also started to show at 9 weeks - I wonder what I'll be like. The only new symptom, a part from the heavy boobs and tingling nipples, has been a full feeling at the bottom of my stomach. The odd feeling in my vagina has gone. No sign of sickness yet.
So, for now, we'll 'keep mum' (pun intended Smile) - but you probably know that I feel like opening the window and shouting 'I'm pregnant' across the street! Grin

Clairabelle1 · 29/03/2021 14:10

@Annwen I I’ve only been on this thread for 24 hours but I am actually over the moon for you! It all sounds so lovely and it’s so nice to hear you & DP are enjoying it together 🥰 I would like to think I’d keep it a secret for a while but I know I’m terrible at secrets! Hoping the less pleasant pregnancy symptoms stay away for you! And thanks for your positive outcome so early on in my journey 💕

@Kty09 Yeah it’s insane! My femometre app says ovulation is today but my nipples seem back to normal today (have been sore the last few days which I’m taking as one of my ovulation symptoms) so thinking it was maybe yesterday. My LH dropped by just over 100% yesterday too. Taking it as a good sign as I was told quite you s I may have problems with fertility but looks like ovulating is in working order so far :-)

Have BD’d the last four days so kinda need a break now too 😂 now comes my 1st TWW 😫
