9DPO and fighting the urge to test

9DPO and AF due 2nd March. Fighting the strong urges to symptom spot and test. Wasted money last month with early BFNs so I am determined to wait until AF is due but the days are so long...who’s with me?

Hi OP, I have decided to not waste time and mental energy fighting the urge but only allow myself to test with cheapies a cheapie morning and night if I feel like it, no point wasting time thinking about it when they are so cheap and I have a box of 25! I actually find I get more disappointed waiting as then I get my hopes up it will be positive whereas if I test at 9dpo I know it will likely be negative anyway so still have some hope, which dwindles as the days go on but at least it isn't a sudden let down. Do whatever works for you!

I’m 8dpo today and AF due 2nd/3rd. I’m on CD 34 though so really late ovulation. I’m with you hun. I haven’t got any in the house which is helping! So I’m soooooo determined to wait until next week as like you say you just end up spending so much money and my mind goes crazy

I think we torture ourselves either way don’t we!? I’m determined this month to hold out until AF is due. I only have a CB digital in the house which is helping as I don’t want to waste it.

We do! I’m with you I’m definitely going to try and fight the urge, although it’s hard when your mind isn’t busy it’s all I think about! Yep definitely save the CB! Im finding it hard not to symptom spot though. Is this your first time TTC?

This is just our 2nd month TTC but I’m finding it all-consuming! How about you @Gigi1109 is this your first time?

@Hopefulhedgehog It’s crazy how much you think about it isn’t it?! This is our first month TTC but with #2! It took us 17 months to conceive the first time round so would be naive to think it would happen so soon this time. Glad you haven’t caved yet! Nor have I!

@Hopefulhedgehog used to be a serial tester but I no longer keep them in the house 🤣 I find a bfn more upsetting than af!! When are you testing?

Also 9DPO today, due on 2 March. I took a cheapie test this morning and I'm flip-flopping between thinking there's a faint pink line to seeing a blank white space 🤦‍♀️ saving FRER for Sunday if I can! 2nd cycle of TTC 🤞

You are exactly the same as me @Sunny1986 I’m 10DPO today and due AF on 2nd March. Save that FRER as long as you can you don’t want to waste it early! I am holding out until AF due if I possibly can.

I’m either 9/10dpo today! Normally would’ve taken one by now but I’m going strong! Have you got a picture of your test sunny? Definitely save that FRER although I know if I had any in the house I would’ve used them by now 😂

Hi @Gigi1109 I'm not trying to conceive, so not really sure how I ended up here! but I think I remember you from a thread way back when I was TTC dc2 and you must have been TTC dc1. I've name changed since... But I now have a 9 month D's. You were lovely on the thread and kept everyone's hopes up month after month! I'm so glad it worked out for you in the end, and good luck with it all take two!

@xoJellyBean haven't tried temping but if we don't get a bfp this month, I think I'll give it a go. You finding it confusing? What app do you use to track?

@Gigi1109 I'm staying strong 💪 at least until Saturday as we're meeting a mate for a long dog walk and we'd usually take a hip flask with us 😂 will probs do another cheap test tomorrow

Symptom spotting kicking in big time today. Had sore boobs since 6DPO, temp dip at 10DPO and noticed some v mild cramping today. It’s going to be a long wait until AF due on Tuesday!

@Hopefulhedgehog staying strong so far! But my tests should arrive today so maybe not so strong haha my app says 2 days until a test so I’ll see if I can hold out until then. What about you? Are you 11/12 dpo?
