Hi ladies anyone want to join me in a thread to chat about ttc this month? I’m currently on CD2.
A bit about me.

I’m 28 and TTC baby number 1. We’ve been trying for a year and a half now, I had 4 recurrent miscarriages in 2020 so hoping the next will stick. I’ve been given new medication to try next time.

@CycloGoose

I tried it this time and really didn't have a clue.

The clear blue ones serve a purpose - if you get an estrogen rise, they'll tell you so long as you start tracking from the right day. My cycle isn't 100% regular so I think I've tested once too late to spot the rise and once too early so the baseline was so low any old rise was detected.

They do always tell you when you have your surge but that might not always be when your peak is if you surge for a long time.
My cheapies tend to be quite light so I found it useful to compare my internet cheapies with the clear blue to see that it was definitely considered a peak.

All that said, if I'm not pregnant this time, I've decided to invest in OvuSense. It's expensive and not for everyone but it's medically approved and I think it will take a lot of the guesswork out which is what I find so stressful. Plus if you haven't conceived after 3 months, you can have a fertility nurse appointment to discuss cycle. Not trying to sell it or push it, just explaining why that's what I've decided to do. I've been trying 7 months and not really getting anywhere and I'd really like to get pregnant before I'm 35 so I'll take all the help I can get.

Hope you are doing okay @lucea87 nearly fertile week 😂💓

@CycloGoose I know, roll on next week, I am ready!!! I'm the same as you with the age thing, and I will also invest in ovusense if no joy this cycle as I've been looking too. I think it'll take a lot of the stress away to be honest! Even though it's only been a couple of cycles for me I can't handle the stress of it!!

I keep meaning to ask where everyone is based and what your hospital choices are like?

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 16:37

I think it's normally recommend for if you've been trying 6 months already @lucea87 but I wish I'd bought it earlier then at least I'd have felt like I got my money's worth 🤣 but I suppose if I get pregnant within one cycle, that's still a Brucey bonus. With the 20% off it's probably not so bad. And I'm always worried I've not taken my temperature right or anything. Spoken to a few ladies and they said it helped them to identify problems which they could then talk to doctors about.

I'm Surrey/London border no idea what that means for hospitals! Are you talking for birthing or for fertility? Don't think I'll be eligible for IVF on nhs as will be too old. How about you?

I'm so tired today. So much work to do but I'm incapable of concentration!

lucea87 · 04/03/2021 16:52

@CycloGoose for birthing. I'm Nottinghamshire and all 3 options here are pretty crap apparently but I think I will go with Kings Mill which is Mansfield.

I also have no concentration today but I'm dragging myself into our home gym now then second walk of the day with the doggo who has been very much hard work today...!!

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 17:02

Oh you're so good!

Hubs went to uni in Nottingham and I went to school aged 5-13 there before we moved again. Lots of family Grantham way.

I'm nowhere near working out where to give birth. I think I need to know there will be a birth first but I'm probably now going to Google it all!

I have a friend who is an Ob/Gyn. Much as I love her, I'll be ensuring it is not the hospital where she works 🤣

I'm really trying not to symptom spot right now but my body is being a total d* and throwing everything at me.

lucea87 · 04/03/2021 17:46

For the last 3 months I've been between 'be in the best shape you can be in before you get pregnant' & 'you're hopefully gonna get pregnant so just do what you want' 😂😂

I'm not from here originally, I'm from North Yorkshire but kinda ended up here and my OH moved up from Milton Keynes a few years ago. We quite like it and we've made our own friends here which is nice!

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 18:23

I'm a bit up and down too but I don't have a home gym @lucea87!! That is pretty impressive!

I've lived all over - I went to secondary school in Skipton!

Really great you've made friends. We get on well with our neighbours but not really made any firm friends since moving here. There's not quite so many people our age who don't already have children. Both our neighbours are retired bachelors 😂

You've made me look at hospitals now. Luckily our local hospital looks amazing. It's rated outstanding and has a birthing centre as well as a delivery suite. Just have to actually make a baby now!

Have you told any of your family that you're trying?

minthumbugs · 04/03/2021 18:41

I'm in Scotland and we live in a fairly rural area so there's only one option for hospitals. Luckily it's great and all the staff look after you really well. They tend to remember your face too! Which is comforting.

@lucea87 Haha! That's my motto. I'm still on the first cycle so I've been fairly motivated about staying in good shape but we will see how that goes.

@CycloGoose what CD are you on now? You seem to have had a few symptoms that sound promising!

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 18:52

@minthumbugs I'm on CD20 or 5dpo. I've got loads of symptoms... The only problem is that it is too early to get any symptoms 🤣😂

My parents live in Scotland near-ish to Dumfries. I love Scotland but I'm always freezing even down south so I don't think I'd cope with all the real weather!

kaylsd · 04/03/2021 18:56
@kaylsd nom nom nom. I'm not a Chinese lover but I do love a good takeaway. Glad you enjoyed it! I ate my own bodyweight in sugar yesterday and currently paying the price 🤢

We have another niece or nephew due in a couple of weeks too. Not sure what to buy! It's first niece from that side's birthday this month too - they'll be almost exactly 5 years apart with the middle sister being exactly 2.5 years from both! Some people's bodies work like clockwork it seems! Can you imagine if they were born on exactly the same day?

It will be our turn soon enough and at least we'll have people to hand things down to us including experience! xxx
My niece that is nicely cooking away is due on the 28th of April :') when's your new family edition due sweet? How are you getting along with your TWW have you had any symptoms
Brewing or have you just been keeping yourself busy and trying not to think too much into
It? Sometimes I feel like I over indulge where I feel rubbish the day after, I take it you've had one of those today :(! Sending hugs xxx

kaylsd · 04/03/2021 18:58
@kaylsd that reading is incredible! Where did you get it from?

@Sallyjo27 so glad you're still positive! Fingers crossed this is all good for you
I got it off this lady off Etsy, her reviews with positive tests was just like wow :o she's the most I've paid for a reading (and happens to be my last one as they get too addictive) here's the link :)

minthumbugs · 04/03/2021 18:58

@CycloGoose damn symptoms!! If you don't get any you overthink, if you do you overthink it too.

Yep the weather is miserable, think down south is always at least 10 degrees warmer, it's a totally different climate haha

kaylsd · 04/03/2021 18:58
@kaylsd oh wouldn't that be great! Your dates would all line up so perfectly, it's meant to be ❤️
Fingers and toes crossed I keep thinking can I prove these predictions wrong and conceive earlier but you just never know 🤞🏻❤️❤️

kaylsd · 04/03/2021 19:02

@lucea87 I've never really thought of that part yet with the hospitals but I guess I'm quite fortunate with the position of where I live, I live in pontefract West Yorkshire and between my village theres 3 hospitals about 20 minutes drive in each direction, two are linked to children's hospitals being Sheffield & Leeds, I don't think I'd go to my old place of work maternity suite as I've heard mixed views and I witnessed some not very nice things when I did bank shifts as a health care whilst doing my nurse training which put me off there full stop, so I would probably say I'll choose Barnsley as it has the link to Sheffield's children for poorly side of things & just had a new neonatal unit placed and upgraded birthing suite I've heard 🥰❤️

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 19:16

@kaylsd exciting times for our in laws! Our family arrival is due 19th March but she's been early by a few days with the last two.

Definitely thinking feeling cruddy because of overindulgence.

Barnsley unit sounds lovely too. Think would be strange to go back to where you worked!

@minthumbugs no escape from the bizarreness of our bodies 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'll still live in hope though!

I do love where I live but I miss the drama of the Moors. We've a few friends Sheffield way and I'm wondering if we'll end up moving further north at some point.

lucea87 · 04/03/2021 19:29

I only really thought about the hospital as I have a friend who is also TTC and we had discussed it which made me think I best have a think about it!! Although I've tried not to think or plan too much of anything just in case as I always have a superstition in my mind about it.

I didn't realise the femometer ovulation sticks weren't for FMU so I'm starting from scratch with those tomorrow, I had a faint line the last 2 days and wondered why when CB was empty circle but now I know why. Also never knew that women have a blood LH surge in the morning....!!! This makes me trust CB even less 🤷🏼‍♀️

@CycloGoose I also went to secondary school in Skipton and I am 99% certain we might know each other quite well from our teen years 😂😂 how totally random! I've sent you a message on FB & if I'm wrong then someone I used to go to school with now thinks I'm a right weirdo!!

CycloGoose · 04/03/2021 19:51

Holy freaking cow everyone. Stop the boat. Confirmation that @lucea87 and I were not only in the same school but the same class 🤦🏼‍♀️ and were very good friends at one stage of our lives! I in fact still have a little picture of us on one of my shelves.

There were 90 people in our year and I am currently thinking the world is really freaking small! Total mind fuck. Of all the threads on the whole of Mumsnet and our names give nothing away of our identities!

😂😂😂😂😂 clearly we are drawn to each other!!!
minthumbugs · 04/03/2021 20:22

@CycloGoose @lucea87 this is amazing!!! I was hoping you guys would give an update!

Slinks8113 · 04/03/2021 21:12

Haha no way! What a small world 😂

lucea87 · 04/03/2021 21:58

I'm gonna dig out my memory box this weekend because I know I have loads of photos of us! I cannot believe that we have ended up on the same thread!!!

CycloGoose · 05/03/2021 06:25

Not gonna lie, I'm still going to post on here as if we're strangers because this is our safe place where we can talk about all the crazy things that we probably wouldn't say in real life to actual people 😂😂😂

But I also know what you're gonna find in the box - I became the real Miss McKenzie haha 00s pop.

How you getting on @slinks8113 ? My temperature was really high this am. Might be because DH shouted something in his sleep and I woke up scared witless! Getting nervous now because CD21 and cycle was only 23 days last time.

Sorry if I've been a bit overbearing on the thread. I've been doing anything but my work and I find comfort here. Hope everyone is doing well xxx

Slinks8113 · 05/03/2021 07:24

@CycloGoose mine dropped this morning but I didn't sleep particularly well - I haven't all week to be fair - so not sure if this is a continuous drop and my phase is super short or not! Will see how it is tomorrow :) no symptoms yet except being extremely tired and the odd cramp here and there! Not really reading much into it at this early stage :)

Just on a slightly different topic, what is everyone's thought on the vaccine? I've heard different things about having it while ttc and am putting it off but lots of people at work have been able to get it as were classed as critical workers. I'm not anti vaccine in any way btw, just intrigued if anyone has had any actual medical advice in relation to it and ttc rather than just rumours on Facebook haha. Xx

kaylsd · 05/03/2021 07:52

@lucea87 @CycloGoose what a small
World it is for you guys, maybe this was always going to happen for you guys to were
Always meant to reconnect based on your journeys TTC! Awwww that's so lovely :') xx

lucea87 · 05/03/2021 07:52

Morning ladies!

@CycloGoose I've had what I go to school for in my head whilst in the shower this morning....!

@Slinks8113 I'm not having it until they say it's safe for pregnancy/trying or until baby is born. I think they say you have to weigh it up so if you do a job or have a illness where the benefits would outweigh the risk then go for it. I'm also 99.9% certain I already had Covid. I know that doesn't mean I can't catch it again but still. I'm just planning on being careful. 3 months is a long time, I've waited so long to have a baby.

For the vaccination stance I'm not having it, I'm not a anti vac and I've had people tell me I should be ashamed knowing that I'm a nurse and I've not had it but I have my reasons. My husband is having it and whole of my family and I will also be having it when ive hopefully had a baby, but I've already had covid in November 2020 and I had the antibodies test shortly after which showed I had antibodies, I know they don't necessarily last as a defence system but I'm being a little bit selfish with the TTC as I don't want a dose incase I'm pregnant at the time of doing the dose & I didn't want to put anything on hold (they originally said to stop for 3 month so you can have both doses but they now have changed their mind?) I Have to have a covid test every week, and self test twice weekly and I wear full PPE whenever I'm in contact with people so I have a element of protection, but soon as I can post baby hopefully whenever that will be, I will be the first to get it sorted and have my vac then :) xx
