Hi All

I’m about to start my TTC journey for baby number 2 and I am so so so so excited. 😁 is anyone else starting their TTC journey too? Would love to have some ladies in the same boat. ā˜ŗļø

Baby dust to you all for the new year šŸ’–

@MrsE95 it is #1 we're trying for. I already have a stepson but so excited to be trying for our own (also absolutely bricking it!)
Are we all recommending opks then? What exactly do I do with these and what does it mean? I know the general gist of it tells you when you're ovulating. I so wanted to be relaxed about this but massively tempted to just go for it now šŸ˜‚
I'm using the Ovia app but obviously only got 1 AF logged so the fertile week it's given me will likely be a stab in the dark

glow92 · 10/01/2021 15:50

@MrsA9 I just got a cheap box from Amazon.
Some people testing multiple times a day in the fertile window... I just want to use them for the first couple months once a day to work out when my window is and roughly when it peaks. You can record the levels on most apps I think!
There's always one pink line, and the darkness of the second line is what your measuring... you're at your peak when the second line is darker than the one given.

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Nats7504 · 10/01/2021 16:13

Hey ladies. Can I join please? I’ve copied my intro from another group cause it took me so long to bloody write šŸ™ˆ

My name is Nat, I’m 36 (37 next month šŸ™ˆ) I have 2 boys from a previous relationship aged 13 and 10. I’ve been with my partner for 3 years (he has no children of his own) and we’ve decided it’s now or never really!

I had my coil taken out in October as it had been in for 5 years and my partner got all excited. He’s been desperate to have a baby for a few years but I was a little more hesitant due to being a single mum when the boys were 2 and 4, it was hard work! But after losing my mum in November and miraculously my partner is still around after putting up with my erratic mood swings and at times diva behaviour, I thought, fuck it! We’ve been careful up until I got merry at Christmas (most of it if I’m honest) and was like, it’s fine.. crack on! Now I’m waiting to see if my period comes on Friday and secretly symptom spotting and pissing on pregnancy sticks daily, even though I know it’s too bloody early. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Good job I do the banking cause it’s a more expensive habit than my wine.

Anyway, enough of me rambling! Hope you’re all having a fab Sunday!

@MrsE95 hi, please can i jump on this thread. Im back TTC this month aswell. Had a misscarriage in december, started trying late oct so haooened quick. Im scare because of the misscarriage but just have to keep going. @Fifi1086 like yourself i have an 11year old and unplanned at 20. Also new to this so took me a while to find a thread.

Have any of you bought any supplements to take while TTC? Xx

Sparkles512 · 10/01/2021 16:47

We are trying for our first!
We did start trying the end of 2019 and then when covid hit we stopped, but we started trying again in November 😊
I'm pretty useless at the ovulation sticks, not sure if I just don't do them at the right times or if it's because they're cheapies but never seem to get a positive ovulation stick.
Going to try and make sure I do them every day this month and hopefully read them properly.
Fingers crossed for you all šŸ¤ž

glow92 · 10/01/2021 16:48

Just folic acid, very cheap on Amazon!
Interested to know if anyone recommends anything else?

MrsE95 · 10/01/2021 17:59

Welcome everyone I found a community when trying for my first really really helped so so very glad we’ve found each other. 😁😁

Wether it be your first or second or more it is still such an exciting time!

I’m all for opks if you’re the obsessive type but not every month just as a check to make sure you know where your peak fertility is ā˜ŗļø BUT if you are a more laid back person and happy to go with the flow I would 100% refrain from it as it turned me into psycho when trying for my first šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I also track discharge and know that’s a big clue to ovulation which is a slightly less obsessive way of tracking it I found šŸ™ˆšŸ˜ xx

@glow92 since i had my misscarriage in dec, also had one in 2018 ive been researching even mumsnet threads going back 2007 and ive found a lot of women mentioning the same things. Pregnacare trying for a baby, seems to have all the vitamins in we need. Im also taking cod liver oil tablets. Xx

MrsA9 · 10/01/2021 18:17

@glow92 thank you! I might order some actually, like you say at least for the first month or two just to check everything is working as it should be.
So good to have a thread going as a place to talk about all this, only me and my husband know we're starting to try so it's a good outlet without chewing his ears off šŸ˜‚

Fifi1086 · 10/01/2021 18:21

Great to have so many people to start this journey with! I got my peak yesterday and feeling very crampy today which is typical when I ovulate. I've the other half practically running away from me at this stage when he sees me coming šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Emmav2020 · 10/01/2021 18:28

@MrsE95 i will say i will go with the flow but i recon i will probs become obsessive. When i got pg late last year i wasnt tracking ovulation or anything, just went for it. Luckily myself and my bf have high sex drive which helps. Do you get discharge before ovulation? Xx

glow92 · 10/01/2021 19:43

@MrsA9 same, I think family know we're 'getting to that point' as we're 28 and been together a number of years but I think even he's a bit lost with it all already to be honest! It's so nice to be able to openly discuss here.

MrsE95 · 11/01/2021 19:29

Where are you all ladies in your cycles? Have we got many of you past ovulation yet? 😁

@Emmav2020 my discharge throughout the month changes but I found a good way to check my peak is to check cervical fluid. During ovulation it’s clear and a bit like egg white. Really stretchy and wet šŸ˜‚ it’s my easiest way to tell as I don’t think I got any ov symptoms. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Anyone symptoms spotting yet? šŸ™ˆ xx

I don’t think this Is our month, AF not due till 28th but just a feeling I have so no symptom spotting here !

glow92 · 11/01/2021 20:47

@MrsE95 I'm only CD10, the next week should be fun!

Hlouise1993 · 11/01/2021 21:45

Hey everyone!

We are trying to conceive baby number 2! Iv been off the pill since august and nothing I came on my period Sunday! I'm due to ovulate 23-25th so fingers crossed happens this month!

MrsA9 · 12/01/2021 09:01

@MrsE95 only cd7 so not much happening at all so far šŸ˜… think we're going to aim for sex every other day between cd10 and cd20 (ish) and see where that gets us. Think I'm going to need to learn a lesson in patience for this process. I must check my cycle tracking app about 4 times a day and I'm OUTRAGED that yes, I'm still on the same cycle day I was 4 hours ago šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø how are you feeling? What cd are you? X

Emmav2020 · 12/01/2021 09:28

If anyone wants to join i have made another thread for anyone ttc or recently pregnant its called - TTC 2021-lets keep it fun and interesting (sex talk) xx

sarraah · 12/01/2021 09:41

Hi we've decided on TTC baby number 3.. iv got 2 boys aged 11 and 6 and I feel very excited as I thought that we were going to stop at 2.
Iv just had the coil taken out on Friday so I'm waiting for my cycle to start.. anyone else had a coil removed and how long it took them to get back on track? Xx
Hope everyone is well Smile

Nats7504 · 12/01/2021 10:25

@sarraah I had my coil taken out in October after having it in 5 years, I had a breakthrough bleed after removal and my periods went back to normal pretty much straight away.

This is our first month actively trying and due AF Friday. I don’t think it’s happened this month as I just feel hormonal so think she’s on her way. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

sarraah · 12/01/2021 10:42

@Nats7504 it's crazy not having a period for so long and forgetting what it's like having one.. I had the coils in for 5 years then took out and a new one put in so it's been 6 years since I last had a period.. It's a waiting game to start planning the days.
I'm all new to the short words and don't understand.. iv just figured out DTD šŸ˜† xx

MrsE95 · 12/01/2021 20:16

@MrsE95hope it returns to normal as quickly as last time šŸ™šŸ¤ž

Welcome new ladies wishing you all lots of luck wherever you are in your cycle šŸ’– xx

@sarraah I know right! I was the pill but that stopped me completely for 9 years, the majority my my adult life... taken me till now at 28 to actually understand it.
My google search history is hilarious the amount of abbreviations I've searched!
