First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Is it me or does ttc take up almost every thought? I day dream about it! As it’s my first month I don’t know whether to do ovulation tests or not. Im so excited about it all but also really scared of a 4th section. So nice to be in a group where we can chat about it x

@FieldView AF turned up last night , nearly cried and had some wine. Feeling a bit better now. I’m finding the whole thing so draining this month. Hopefully can get back into a positive mind set.

@Eaststreet I've read that some women don't get a BFP until after a week or two of missed AF. When is your AF due?

The Femometer app that predicted ovulation for me on the 15th was wrong. It actually happened yesterday so I'm 1 DPO today and so the TWW begins! We're having work done to the house so only DTD once in the window. So don't have high hopes for this month, we'll see what happens :)

Ahhh @Eaststreet I'm right there with you! I really cross yesterday and drowned my sorrows in chips and biscuits 😂

It didn't help that in a quick chat my DH was having with the GP about the vaccine, the GP said the odds are really against us due to our age, and we should be prepared for it to take 18-24 months. I know he's the expert but I think he's wrong!

@FieldView No way! My 41 year old friend had a baby last year and also has a 4 year old, she had no problem at all. I think we hear a lot of conversation driven around ‘older’ women struggling to conceive, but there’s also a lot who do quite easily! Hopefully it will be for you!

Hello, everyone I'm new here. I've just turned 35, ttc my first baby. Stopped taking my pill 10 months ago, but my partner wasn't ready to officially try until this cycle. Regardless I've been tracking, attempting to seduce him at the right time (unfortunately he has a low sex drive) and it's been 6 cycles where the timing worked, so this is the 7th cycle

We've dtd day 8,11,12,13 and will 14,15 and poss 16 if he has the energy. My cycles are 26-30 days, but generally always the egg white discharge is day 13-14, so ovulation should be day 14-16.

I just know, that now our dtd has increased from 2ce in the fertile window to every day it's going to be even more disappointing if we don't conceive...

I've been googling several days a week for months, but now we're officially trying it's all I can think about. I'm laying awake till 1am googling..

I had my COVID jab yesterday so I'm going to pause trying for 3 months until I get my second jab.

Will stick around though to hopefully see some more BFPs!

I know exactly what you mean about it becoming all consuming! I did similar in googling symptoms until early hours last month.

I haven’t posted for a while as last month was a write of didn’t get a static smiley, dp was working away. This month however got a good fertile window and dp was here. He’s been offered a new job that doesn’t include any trips away so that’s a plus. Ready to start my ttw and drive myself crazy

I'm 5 DPO and feel unbelievably strongly that I'm not pregnant. It's really odd. I just don't think I am and I'm not sure where this strong feeling is coming from. Maybe its just my brain working hard to protect itself from disappointment?

Guess we'll see.

How is everyone getting on? Where are people up to in their cycles? BFP ladies how are you all feeling?
We’ve had a traumatic week with some heavy bleeding but a scan yesterday showed a baby with a healthy heartbeat. Cause of the bleed was found to be a subchorionic Haematoma but should (all being well) not affect the pregnancy (though there is some risk.)

@LiGigi half way through the two week wait, I feels like forever I just want to know!!
I have had cramps the past few days which I don’t normally have mid cycle.

@2020newbie how is the TWW treating you? When do you think you will test?

I'm 11 DPO today, super tired and in a horrendous mood. Still don't think I'm pregnant though, I've had no symptoms that fall outside of what I'd typically get with PMS. Today's mood is an interesting development. My mood is normally very stable. But it's probably 2 weeks of intense renovating in the house catching up with me. Will see how I feel tomorrow. AF should be due Weds - Friday. Ideally I want to hold off testing til the weekend but may do so sooner if mood and intense fatigue continue.

I'm 9dpo, well when i think Of was, didn't opk but would match cm and when I'm sure I had ovary pain

Cycle day 23 for me today. I really think there's a chance.. I had left rib cage stitch 5dpo which is when I think implantation might have happened, painful boobs since 6dpo & also seem a bit bigger, and light cramps, also think yesterday my cheeks changed to slightly flushed and still are today, very gassy for a few days)

My cycles are 26-30 days, prob 28 at average. So guess I should probably wait until thurs to test with FRER which will be 12dpo...😬😬😬😬

Hi ladies. AF arrived today for me... yeay (not). So onto cycle 3 of TTC. Have some reservations about having a December baby but don't want to wait a whole month. So probably will try and see what happens. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm!

@LiGigi trying to hold off until the 8th 😬 but I have such an irregular cycle i worry it might be too soon

Feel so silly posting these can anyone see anything I think I’m seeing a very very very faint line, I’m only 10DPO but I woke up today feeling ‘off’ so decided to take a test anyway. I will test again on Monday when I’d actually intend to test which I’ll be 14DPO.

Also to add I get longer cycles anyway between 30-35 days the last 2.

I am still trying, and currently 9DPO, I’ve just done a test and am definitely now visualising lines. My boyfriend has said he can’t see a thing. What does everyone else think? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much for looking. I know this sounds really dramatic but I was feeling crazy, and your message just made me cry with happiness - not because I might be pregnant, but because it’s so nice that someone I don’t know would help me look at my test. ❤️ What is FMU? @2020newbie

FMU = first morning urine. I can see a shadow of a second line too. Test again in 48 hours and it should get darker 🤞🏻 x

Hi @BubblesNSnuggles thank you for also looking! It’s actually not, it was this evening but I haven’t drunk much water. This morning’s test was 100% negative. It’s been a really weird month because my cycle is usually 30-40 and I ovulate around CD24. However I got an obvious peak at CD12... and tried then, and I am 9DPO from that peak. Weird, I had assumed it was a mistake because I have PCOS. The joys of guessing what your body is doing! I’ll try again tomorrow
