Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

Morning girlies 🤗

Just wanted to check back in. I've been quiet the last 10 days or so as been very busy with work.

DH was working away this week so didn't have many times to DTD in my window. However we did manage to DTD yesterday which according to my apps was ovulation day! So fingers crossed I'm still in the game this month.

Interesting posts about stopping for a few months due to December/Jan babies. I'm rubbish as working things out but I thought if I only ovulated yesterday then next months ovulation would mean a November baby? I find the dates confusing! But agree with everyone else, December birthdays aren't great.

Sending baby dust ✨

Grace185 · 28/01/2021 09:49

Hey @greenfrogs1 yes this month would be a late October/November one I think. I’m on cd5 with a 39d cycle and the nhs due calculator says I’d be due start of November I’d I got lucky this month! Then we are taking a few months off, tbh I think it will be good and unfocused me on just ttc so I’m not complaining. Start up again in May/june for us

Grace185 · 28/01/2021 09:49

I meant 30 day cycle, not 39!

Grace185 · 28/01/2021 09:51

I re-read that and doesn’t make sense at all. I mean I think it’ll be good for me to stop obsessing over ttc for a few months. Just track my cycles and get to know my body. Might get opks for the months before we start up again so I can see what day I ovulate and it’ll give me something to do haha.

Dungareesandfreckles · 28/01/2021 10:15

I did a test yesterday, BFN. It’s super early, so I guess there’s still time, but I don’t think it’s the month for me! How is everyone? X

Eaststreet · 28/01/2021 14:28

@greenfrogs1 I’ve been using a due date calculator online, as it goes from first day of last period, my predicted March AF date is predicting a due date of 23rd December. I spoke to OH again and he isn’t too bothered so we’ve agreed we’d rather have a baby in December than not at all so not going to stop TTC.

I’m CD8 today, started my CB ovulation. Hoping to DTD lots this weekend but nothing else to report other than that.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Eaststreet · 28/01/2021 14:29

@Dungareesandfreckles sorry to hear about your BFN , what dpo are you on? Stay positive Grin you never know

Grace185 · 28/01/2021 15:40

@Eaststreet yeah I get that completely. My view is in our relationship we go with the one who feels most strongly about things. Oh really doesn’t want it and I’m not bothered so we’ll wait :) having said I’ll I might change my mind haha. I’ll have to be a spectator for a few months :)

DizSquiz · 28/01/2021 16:37

Hi all

I'm 8DPO today and experiencing period like pains but AF not due till 04/02

Anyone else experienced this. X

LiGigi · 28/01/2021 16:52

@DizSquiz sounds like it could be implantation pains? The timings work out. Apparently most implantation occur at this kind of time.

I'm 9 DPO and AF is due 3rd Feb, so just ahead by a day compared to you. I had twinges and cramps from 5DPO to 7DPO but have no idea what that was about or if that's what implantation should feel. Maybe it was just gas? Upset tummy? I don't want to believe it to minimise the disappointment later.

Do you have any other symptoms?

@LiGigi hey, I don't have any spotting, my temperature dipped today, I have a headache but that's about it xx

Remembermee · 28/01/2021 17:14

This is my first month ttc.
My situation is slightly different. I'm 41. Hubby can't come when we DTD. We've been to the fertility clinic and he is taking injections to improve his sperm. It's worked. Doesn't help when DTD.
But now my fertility is the issue as I've been told my AMH hormone is low and therefore will be harder to conceive.
I really don't want to go down the route of IVF so we are trying home insemination.
I've already misread the Clear Blue Ovulation test wrong. I thought the flashing smiley face was peak fertility but it wasn't it was High. So we've tried 3 times in 4 days and now the test says peak fertility so poor hubby is going to have to have another go again!
I'm terrified of the whole process. Of everything.

LiGigi · 28/01/2021 20:06

@DizSquiz sometimes I wonder if everyone has all the obvious textbook symptoms? My cousin didn't realise she was pregnant for 4 months! So who knows... we can look for the symptoms but until AF arrives, you just never know.

@Remembermee
Welcome to the group! It sounds like you're doing everything you can. Those ovulation tests can be a bit confusing but sounds like you made good use of your fertile window. Sending loads of baby dust your way.

Hallie91 · 28/01/2021 21:06

@LiGigi I'm the same as you - had cramps 5-6dpo and been really gassy but then the cramps eased off this morning (7dpo) and I've felt "normal" for first time in days.

shannonl26 · 28/01/2021 23:46

Hey ladies.

Work has been so crazy I’m only able to check in every few days. How is everyone feeling? I’m CD7 today & weirdly has ewcm today? I know cycles can be allllll over the place after stopping the mini pill though so I’m taking it all in my stride.

What will be will be eh. Only time will tell 😀😂

greenfrogs1 · 29/01/2021 09:16

@Eaststreet and @Grace185 thanks, I never knew such a calculator existed but it's really helpful!

@Remembermee I have seen there's a few threads on here for people trying the self insemination route and they have some really good tips. You would be surprised how many people conceive that way!
All of the ovulation tests etc can be so confusing. That's why I like this group as there are no silly questions and we are all learning as we go 😊

I did a search but couldn't find any threads on it...

@Remembermee I think this is the most recent thread:

Annabelle0852 · 29/01/2021 11:04

Hi ladies,

Just checking in to see where my cycle buddies are at.

I'm at CD12. My LH is slowly going up according to IC OPK.

I got a positive OPK on CD13 last month (mine just came out of nowhere... nothing then BAM positive!). Last month was a shorter cycle than regular for me so anticipate my OV day could move slightly.

OH hasn't been in the mood much lately. He's also away tonight and not back until late tomorrow so not much BD'ing time... would rather OV was delayed a day or so to get more baby making time in!

Hope all is going well for everyone else.

✨ baby dust ✨

greenfrogs1 · 29/01/2021 11:16

@Annabelle0852 I'm CD 15 and according to apps I ovulated on CD 13. I normally have a 27/28 day cycle.

I'm in a similar situation in that DH was working away this week so we only managed to DTD on the day of ovulation (according to the apps - I didn't use OPKs this month). It's so hard when work is busy as he was shattered after his work trip but I knew we needed to DTD to have a chance this month. I'm trying really hard to keep it fun and not make it a chore or add pressure but i find if I think we are going to miss the fertile window I panic!

I'm now in the TWW and I'm already a bit obsessed with symptom spotting 😂 it feels exciting for me this month as last month I knew we hadn't done it on the right days so didn't have much hope or excitement whereas this month I do.

Annabelle0852 · 29/01/2021 11:33

@greenfrogs1 I totally get what you mean about making it fun etc. Even though I know when the fertile window is, I try not to mention it do OH as I want him to want it, you know?! Not like a chore, as you said.

But I did say to him this morning he needs to come back with baby making energy otherwise we're out this month! Don't like to put the pressure on but I think he forgets there's only a limited "go" period for us ladies!

I think because we haven't DTD much this cycle - and after how obsessive I got last one! - I'm thinking I'll be more relaxed about this TWW.

Good luck to you, I hope your TWW goes quick!

Kittysw · 29/01/2021 12:05

@Annabelle0852 and @greenfrogs1 I'm CD12 today and usually ovulate on CD13. We will all be in this together then this month.

I have briefly mentioned DTD to my DF and he was like oh right is it a good time then. But the same I don't want to put pressure on him as he's been crazy working this week. He works from home so my tactic is to walk around the house in my workout shorts and sport bra to make him want to DTD. Not sure it will make a difference but it's got to be worth a try.

Eaststreet · 29/01/2021 13:12

@Kittysw I’m in a similar situation. My DP is working from home in a very high pressured job so I’m really conscious of not piling more pressure on . To try to keep it fun I’ve been randomly wandering into his office and offering a ‘quickie’ not the most romantic but he seems to be enjoying it and it’s getting the job done 😂.

BubblesNSnuggles · 29/01/2021 13:30

I’m 9 days past a positive OPK so I’m going with 8DPO - I’ve already tested twice (obviously negative) why do I do it to myself?! 🙈 I have no self control.
We’ve given it our best shot this month (DTD 5 times over my fertile week, been taking prenatals for a couple of months, even gave preseed a go) so will be gutted if it hasn’t worked so it’s remembering that its all just a game of luck really 🤷‍♀️
Hope everyone else in the 2ww is doing ok and good luck to all of you starting afresh!

LiGigi · 29/01/2021 14:14

@BubblesNSnuggles I feel you! 10 DPO here and the urge to test is insane. Just 4 more days, I dont know if I can do it.

No symptoms really except for tiredness and hunger which is probably just PMS :( keeping my fingers crossed.
