First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Glad to see I'm not alone in symptom spotting!
Couldn't resist any longer and tested this morning - BFN. I'm out for the month as AF started this afternoon - on to Month 2! Keeping my fingers crossed for all you ladies having odd cramps and nausea and strange CM (😂 now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write!) - BFPs by the end of the month!✨💕

All that talk of apple crumble has led me to skip today's walk (it is absolutely chucking it down here 🌧) and instead open the final cake leftover from Christmas - stollen! 💛 Anyone else find they bought too much (expecting to have guests before the Christmas announcement) and are having to work through it (hard life!)?

I'm now just cramping up a storm so reckon AF just feels like making an early appearance.

Maybe I need to take up meditation to become more zen about all this. 🧘‍♀️🕉🕯ooommmmmm.... 👌

@shannonl26 I’m pretty much at the same phase as you and also hoping to last until the end of the month as it’ll give a def answer. Then Af has plenty of time to arrive if she wants haha. How are you finding the wait?

Gosh, so much to catch up on! No mobile for me during the working day so it's nice to come home to a flurry of activity.

@greenfrogs1 we're in sync, AF due Friday for me as well. I'm going to test first thing Friday so I at least get to do a test. When are you planning to test?

I have a very overly attached cat who won't be happy about any of it. She'll just have to get used to it though. Having said that, she's not been keen to sit on my lap for the past week or so, I'm hoping this means she is aware of the zygote..

I have also been baking up a storm, macarons, cookies, traybakes, you name it!

@PineappleSun the baking sounds amazing!! Good luck with testing on Friday!!

Just done my zoom workout with my swimming team mates and my god was it a killer. I have no one to blame but myself as I write the sessions. All swim focused plyometrics.

Hope everyone else is doing ok this evening. Always wanted to try baking macarons just never got round to it. I may have a go soon. :)

@RadDarwazeh I'm a qualified fitness instructor so I quite enjoy it. Almost a qualified personal trainer too though Covid had other ideas so I haven't quit finished that yet.

It is a slight challenge as the age range is youngest 9 and oldest 32 so to make it inclusive for all is fun.

@RadDarwazeh I’ve just googled about pregnancy and cat litter... I honestly did not know that! It would be helpful if there was a list somewhere of all the things you cannot do, touch, eat etc when pregnant as I feel pretty clueless.

@PineappleSun yay we are in synch! I bought some tests on amazon today which should arrive tomorrow. First time I’ve bought them and I was like HOW MUCH?! 😂 I think I’m going to give AF a chance to arrive on Friday but if nothing happens on Friday I will test Saturday morning. Me and DH wasn’t really making much effort last month so I would be surprised if I got a BFP... next cycle will be the one we really give it some welly (or willy - pardon the pun 😂😂).

I'd love a list of dos and don'ts. It's hard sometimes tho. I'm trying while in TWW to be as good as poss wrt no booze 👍

@Grace185 I’m not as obsessed with the wait as I thought I would be, it’s my first month so I know I could be in this exact position for many months to come 😂 I am still symptom spotting like mad though, swear I had nausea & AF like cramps but it could deffo be all in my head 😂

How are you finding it?

@shannonl26 I’m still determined not to test until at least the 28th but I agree with the symptom spotting. But I guess it’s too early right now anyway as I’m 6-8 dpo. Hope it goes quick, I’m done with January anyway haha

@Grace185 I’m 6 DPO & also going to hold off until the 28th! That’s when I’d usually be due AF however according to opk, AF is due earlier this month. Strange cycle. I have had longer cycles in the past so definitely waiting longer so I’m not ripping my hair out spending F loads on tests!! January is always the longest month by far 😂 I’ll feel less crazy in a few days when it’s actually reasonable to assume im having ‘symptoms’ 😂

That's a really good list @glassacorn thank you so much 😃 trying to do most of it just in case pregnant and don't know it yet, yeah. Loads of girls at my work have just come back after maternity. Hoping that's a good sign! X

I'm most shocked about chocolate containing caffeine 😧 i did not realise this. I was looking forward to 'eating for 2' and having unlimited chocolate!

I caved today like the total wally I am. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Tested this morning (10DPO) and got a stark white BFN. No squinters, nada.

I know we'd all say "you're not out until AF shows" but from gut instinct I'm 99% this is me out.

Hey everyone!
I was on this thread when it first started but sadly got af 😓.
However since then I have been trying to track ovulation etc but it's so difficult restarting again after not having periods for so long!
Anyways we have been dtd every other day and fingers crossed this is our month 🤞🏻 we have also just been accepted to move into our new house so it would be a perfect time 😀
