Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Thanks in advance x

@RadDarwazeh Only human indeed! Won't pretend I don't have my moments... wish it was my belly button poking out or whatnot 😂 but I've been an eagerly awaiting Godmother from 4 weeks! She needs to hurry up and come out now!

I just hope it doesn't take us too long to fall so our babes could be close in age 😍 that'd the dream anyway!

glassacorn · 11/01/2021 23:10

@RadDarwazeh 💕 That's what made me choose this thread - lots of positive outlooks and practical advice! Just feeling lucky to be TTC in 2021 as I can't imagine 10, 20 years ago not being able to have such candid chats about it - like others I am not telling family as the pressure would be 🤯

I'm using Clue and have been (a bit haphazardly) tracking BBT - going to try OPKs this next month, once it begins! I'll take a look at Ovia - only using Clue as I've had it since it launched! 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Is anyone increasing/adapting their exercise habits as part of their prep? 🏊🏻‍♀️ 🏋🏼‍♀️🚴🏽‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🤾🏼‍♀️

FieldView · 11/01/2021 23:14

Ahh this is such a lovely chat! Very lucky to be sharing the experience with a lovely group of women! I haven't really told anyone we're TTC and DH doesn't know quite how much "research" is going on behind the scenes - this group has really helped it not be such a lonely or scary process!!

I'm also loving that the clocking is ticking and some of this group might be just days away from a BFP! I am super excited for whoever it is! 😍

Kittysw · 12/01/2021 01:19

Hi All,

I hope it's okie that I jump onto this thread :)
I love how positive you all are. I am on 9DPO now and super impatient. This is our second month TTC #1 and this TWW is a killer.

I have had a few things which could be symptoms but I am trying not to get my hopes up. Feeling really nauseous for 3/4 days solid but that has subsided now and only getting it every so often. Also really cold feet (don't know if that is a thing) and a few random twinges and cramps.

I think AF is due around the 19th. trying to hold out and not test to early.

shannonl26 · 12/01/2021 07:06

@Kittysw welcome! 😀

That does sound promising, I’ve seen on here from 11DPO is best to start testing, but women do get early BFPs before that.

I’m currently 5DPO & I’ve woken up with what feels like AF cramps, just ever so slightly duller & my thighs still ache like mad.

I think I’m just noticing anything & everything whereas before I’d pay no attention mind you 😂

RadDarwazeh · 12/01/2021 08:36

@Kittysw we are cycle sisters! Mines due on 19th.

I totally agree with you other girls, I am grateful we can talk so openly! I don't have any symptoms yet. I'm trying not to hold too much weight on symptoms as they're so similar to normal AF! How annoying!

I ordered some FRER with estimated delivery 17th. Perfect, I thought, I won't be tempted to test early. Now they're coming tomorrow instead haha!

Wrt the exercise, I tend not to exercise much anyway but I like walks and ring fit on the Nintendo. And yoga Smile

Eaststreet · 12/01/2021 08:52

Morning all!
Hope everyone is doing well, any updates ?
The TWW is reall taking its toll and it’s only been 3 days for me! I’m super aware of every little twinge.
Trying to keep busy at work and me and DP have just started a new series which is taking care of the evenings.
@FieldView I am the same! DP has literally no idea at how much research is going on! He still thinks we’re taking the ‘chilled’ approach to the whole thing, which is impossible once you get going. Glad to be able to share our experiences with each other in the group.

FieldView · 12/01/2021 09:27

@Eaststreet glad I'm not the only one!! DH knows I'm doing a bit of monitoring but doesn't quite know the extent of it. He has children from a previous partner and is a lot more relaxed about this than I am. In other news, we recently got a switch and I've been looking into getting a ringfit - any good?

@Kittysw welcome! We are cycle sisters too - AF due 18th or 19th depending on which app I look at!

@glassacorn welcome to the group 😊 In terms of exercise, I was doing couch to 5k in the run up to Christmas, ended up with a few weeks off over Christmas and went for my first jog/walk of the year on Sunday. Carrying a little extra lockdown/chub than I would like, and I have a very sedentary lifestyle thanks to WFH, but I'm hoping that it just falls off with the stress of TTC

Annabelle0852 · 12/01/2021 09:37

I think a lot of us are due similar times - I'm due 18th or 19th (depends which app I look at!)

OH also has no clue how much "research" is going on. We talk about it a fair bit but I'm fairly certain he has no idea on my googling habits!

The only exercise we've been doing (besides DTD 😉😂) is going for long walks at the weekend. We're also sedentary WFH people so trying to get 10k+ at least two days a week!

8DPO... need this bloat to go away its driving me loony now. Felt very PMS'y yesterday. Let's see what today brings.

Annabelle0852 · 12/01/2021 09:38

10k+ steps**

FieldView · 12/01/2021 10:22

Another cycle sister! Things are going to be very busy early next week 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Apologies if I've missed it, but are those of you expecting AF next week planning on testing early? I'm going to try really hard to wait until the 24th as I'm on a course next week and don't want any distractions, but I'm probably going to be distracted whether I test or don't test anyway! Who am I kidding!

Eaststreet · 12/01/2021 10:56

The calculator thing on the clear blue website is saying I can do an early test on the 20th and first response is saying the 17th (seems really early?) I’m really not sure whether to wait. Think I might order the early detection ones and see how I feel next week. I really hope someone gets a BFP this month.

What is everyone else thinking?

shannonl26 · 12/01/2021 11:40

My usual AF due date is the 28th, but according to my peak on opk I’m due around the 21st-23rd, so I think if I’m ‘late’ come next Thursday I’ll still wait until the 28th so I can be sure. It makes sense in my head anyway 😂

My lower stomach feels really heavy today if you can even understand that, I know 5DPO is too early for any symptoms & it could very well be the run up to AF. I’m on a training course all day today over zoom so I really can feel every twinge where as usually I’d be too busy to notice.

The TWW really is taking over my life, so much for taking a chilled approach even on month 1 🙄

I hope you are all doing on today. I really do love coming on here & being able to relate, makes me feel less crazy!!

PineappleSun · 12/01/2021 12:37

I've been doing couch to 5k as well, trying to talk myself into going this afternoon. It was chucking it down here this morning and I thought I'd get away with not going but the sun has come out all happy and shiny now, bastard.

shannonl26 · 12/01/2021 12:59

@PineappleSun hahah that made me chuckle. I’ve told myself I’m going to start couch to 5k too, let us know how you get on 😂

shannonl26 · 12/01/2021 13:13

So I’ve just gone to the toilet & had thick jelly like discharge (sorry tmi) when I wiped, but opk picked up my peak last Thursday. Don’t really know what it means as I’m supposed to be 5DPO, could it be a sign of something else or is that kind of discharge almost always ovulation?

Kittysw · 12/01/2021 13:41

@RadDarwazeh @FieldView @Annabelle0852 that's so exciting that were all around the same time.

I said I wouldn't order test so I wasn't tempted to try early but I caved an they arrive tomorrow. Trying my best to hold out until the weekend to test at all but I'm so impatient.

I am struggling with exercise. I'm a swimmer and swim 3/4 times a week (masters nationals level) yet now pools are closed due to lockdown 3.0 it's hard to find the motivation and I'm also furloughed from work. Have made a little exercise zoom group with some friends I swim with so do that twice a week.

How is everyone doing today? I had some random back pain this morning which is unusual.

RadDarwazeh · 12/01/2021 14:04

I wonder if anyone will get a positive! How exciting. I don't have any symptoms at all...yet?!

I'm also interested to hear your work or home situations. DH and I are key workers for different professions. I do 4 days a week. It's tiring so sorta limiting DTD to fertile window only.

TWW is also taking over my life! But I'm enjoying commenting on this lots. It's like texting with mates 😀

Annabelle0852 · 12/01/2021 14:23

@shannonl26 I've had jelly CM before (not recently but a few times before). I think at the time I read it was like a mucus plug or something?! Can't remember. Not sure what it means for ovulation though. What CD are you?

@Kittysw I'm also trying to hold for the weekend. I don't want to test, get a BFN then do another in a couple days and waste them 🤯

glassacorn · 12/01/2021 15:39

@PineappleSun @FieldView
Hats off to all the runners/joggers in this weather! I'm more of a hiking person - I usually swim 3/4 times a week (hello fellow swimmer @Kittysw! 🏊🏻‍♀️💛) but lockdown has put paid to that and it's too cold near me to wild swim! Does waking to/from the snack cupboard/fridge count as exercise? 😂

Have been doing 5km walks/hikes in local area every day/other day depending on work commitments (can only WFH part of the week, rest onsite) but all the books I've been reading talk about the benefits of exercise and fitness for preg/labour - doesn't help that two friends who most recently gave birth and actually enjoyed the experience focused a lot on their fitness! 🙈💪🏼🏋🏼‍♀️

Still no AF, but getting some twinges in pelvis so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Trying to wait to do next test but wow - I don't think I've ever found waiting so tricky! At this rate, she'll arrive in the next week and I'll be back on cycle around the same dates as quite a few of you ladies! The weird power of forums! 😅🤨🧐

shannonl26 · 12/01/2021 15:44

@Annabelle0852 I’m 5DPO so thought it was peculiar I was having this discharge! CD23 ☺️

Kittysw · 12/01/2021 16:44

@glassacorn that is so exciting. I really miss my swimming, my sessions are normally at least 1hr 30mins long so its just such a change.

I enjoy walking and Hiking however I am not a fan of the cold. Hats off to all the runners I am unable to run due to some hip/femur issues I had operated on last year.

It's so lovely to come on here and chat with people who like you all say are in the same situation. My DF thinks I have gone mad with this whole TWW thing. I tried to explain it to him and how all consuming it is and he just did not get it.

RadDarwazeh · 12/01/2021 17:36

@Kittysw hi hun! I don't think anyone else gets the tww anxiety unless you're TTC. Not gonna tell my DH much so he doesn't stress. I am glad to unload and on this forum!

Gosh everyone's talking about exercise and I've just put a pizza in the oven 😂

Kittysw · 12/01/2021 18:11

@RadDarwazeh That is so true. My bestfriend has been trying for around a year and 6 months now and I told her that we were trying. She said I could chat to her at anytime but I don't want to keep asking as I know they are struggling so this is great to come and chat.

I wouldn't say no to Pizza!! We have beef and rice tonight!

PineappleSun · 12/01/2021 19:12

Runner is a bit strong, more like lopsided shuffler. About to start my carbonara, I need the calcium for a healthy baby right?? Grin
