First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

Omg the fact people here are already talking about testing is getting me REALLY excited. My AF is due on 15th but I am convinced this won't be our month as I don't think I got the days right at all. Excited for everyone who is planning to test though! 🤞🏼

I was complaining to DH yesterday that I had put on some Xmas weight and he said 'maybe it's more than xmas weight...' implying I could be pregnant. However I know it's just too many pringles and mince pies! 😂😅

@Eaststreet thank you, I think I’ll go with the 21st but if I am ‘late’ I’ll wait until after the 28th so I don’t feel like I’m getting my hopes up for no reason! 😂

I’ve got super dull aches in bottom of my back & my thighs are feeling as if I’ve just run a marathon. Not sure if it’s related to TTC or if I’m just an achy person never noticed it before though!

@greenfrogs1 how are you feeling in the run up to AF date symptom wise? Fingers crossed she doesn’t arrive!! X

@shannonl26 I did have a bit of nausea the week after TTC but I read online you wouldn't start having that so soon - so I think it was all in my head! Apart from that nothing else. I'm really convinced this isn't my month, but I am excited for all you other ladies! How amazing would it be if someone got a BFP 🎉

@shannonl26 I’ve got the exact same back pain! I’ve had it for 2 days. I get quite bad PMA back pain but usually the day before AF, not sure what this is from. And also we had some decorating done this morning and the smell of the paint was making me feel so sick! I feel like it’s way too early to have any symptoms though I think it’s probably just in my head and I’m getting carried away.

I hope one of us gets a BFP this month, it will definitely make me feel more positive for us all! 🥰

Happy Monday ladies. Today is officially my 7dpo which means one week of the TWW is done! Finnnally!! Half way there 💪

I have started symptom spotting like crazy even though I know it is too early 🙄 I really don't think I'm going to be able to hold out until AF is due.

I have this weird feeling that I'm not pregnant but even so I just want to test so I can know and move on already.

Really hoping someone gets their BFP soon... would love to see the positivity and congratulations in the thread.

@Eaststreet nice to see somebody else feeling the same, I’m the same back pain is usually my main pms symptom but usually during not before. Even if it is all in our head, it makes me more excited 😂

@Annabelle0852 I’m 4DPO but I won’t be upset if it isn’t my month, it’s my first month TTC so I’m enjoying the journey getting to grips with it all & understanding my cycle! I also can’t wait for the groups first BFP. 2021 needs some happiness. ☺️

I know I am so excited for someone to get their first BFP and then hopefully we’ll have more and more every month that goes by!! Exciting times ahead for us ladies!

I’m looking for some advice :)

I am 9PO and cycle day 28. AF is due on 16th Jan (5days away), although my cycles do vary- 31-37 days usually. As this is our first month I am desperate to test early... what do you guys think? Test or just wait?

@Dixie1488 personally I'd say wait for 11DPO at least so you don't doubt the result (I.e. fake negative) but some lucky ladies get BFP earlier! Just know you may end up doing another in a couple days anyway if it is neg now!

@Annabelle0852 Yes I think you’re right! I reckon if I did test 11DPO I probably wouldn’t trust the negative 100% anyway and would test again. It’s just so hard waiting isn’t it!

Wait wait wait! It's like the days are dragging now we are waiting, girls! Please give me some hobbies to do/things to watch to distract me. It would be wonderful if someone got a BFP! I love that we are all rooting for each other

I almost don't want to test, I like the feeling that I could be pregnant even though I'm convinced I'm not. Once I get the BFN it's officially over for this month. Schrodinger's zygote I guess. Anyone else feel like this?

Yes @PineappleSun. However we can always try try again! If AF comes it sucks but it's the start of a new cycle. Sending hugs and positivity

I know what you mean though. I'm convinced this isn't the month for me, got all the usual PMS symptoms now like insatiable hunger and mood swings (poor OH). But all the while I don't know for sure there's a possibility... one that has me occasionally talking to my empty uterus 🙄🤯

Aw thank you girls. I moved to where I live now just over a year ago and with corona and all I haven't made a single friend outside of work so I'm so grateful to have you all to chat to

I don’t really want to tell my family as they will only keep asking me if I’m pregnant or not, I don’t think I could deal with that!

@Dixie1488 I've been trying to convince the OH to let me have dominoes for dinner but apparently it's taboo to have take out two nights in a row after Indian last night... spoil sport!!

We're not telling anyone we're trying either as it adds a bit of pressure I think. And we also moved to a new area last year so definitely feeling the online support!

@Annabelle0852 Haha! That’s totally acceptable I would say 😂 I tried with mine too, proposed KFC or McDonald’s but he insisted on Chicken and Veg... I was not impressed!

Ah okay, I think telling people does create just added unnecessary pressure. I already put enough pressure on myself!

My younger sister (age 21) fell pregnant last year without trying. She’s pregnant now so i do struggle a bit looking at her grow but of course I am happy for her 😊 If only it was that easy for me!

@Dixie1488 Ended up with chicken burgers. Better than chicken and veg but no dominoes!

My BFF is pregnant with a "whoopsie" baby. She's about to pop any minute actually. Overjoyed for her and she's loving it. I struggle a little with the "only DTD once and this accidentally happened" but it just fuels me on to get there too and I can't wait to see her bubba when the time comes.

Aww bless. That’s such a great way of looking at it. It is exciting, I can’t wait to meet my niece or nephew in June! First baby of the family. My hope would be that I fall pregnant soon, so our babies can grow up together 😊

Hello ladies! New to the forum - wanted to join as think it’ll stop me feeling quite so cuckoo!

Today’s CD40, did a pregnancy test on CD38 as was expecting AF on CD31 (held out as long as I could but too curious) negative - but still no bloody (literally) AF!

First month trying, four months since stopped HC and have had three normal cycles - usually 29/30 day cycles. Hence why I’m feeling a bit frustrated - no clue what’s going on! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hiya @glassacorn nice to have you here. I can wholeheartedly say this chat has made me feel more sane and it's v friendly and open and honest sorry to hear you're a bit frustrated. I find using my Ovia tracking app helps me kinda monitor things. Hope AF comes soon so you can begin the fun again!

@Annabelle0852 I'm so glad you have a positive outlook on your besties pregnancy. That shows you have a such a kind soul while you're also TTC . No bitterness. Just joy. We're all human I know but your words made me smile haha
