Thread 2!
Will try to tag everyone who was active recently in the old thread, but sorry if I missed anyone. And if you're one of the many who got BFPs in the old thread and you're currently wading through the dark depths of morning sickness, feel free to ignore us 😊

Awww @AKC88 what a lovely scan!! And so glad you’re feeling a bit better!! Did that mean you got to do some lovely Christmas announcements??

Haha @Cc7750 soooooo hot 😍😍

Cc7750 · 04/01/2021 12:18

@AKC88 lovely scan! 👏🏼 2021 baby boom here we come

EllyNC · 04/01/2021 12:50

I have such bad gas pains 😖 literally feel like my stomach has been blown up- I forgot about this pregnancy symptom! So uncomfy! Anyone found any remedies (other than the bank breaking prune juice 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

unCliche · 04/01/2021 16:15

@AKC88 Awwwww look at that little human baby! That's amazing! Must be so exciting!
@EllyNC I've heard many good things about Bridgerton and the main character, I haven't watched it yet though. Can't help with the gas but a google search might help.
@HerringGull Scotland is now in lockdown, what does that mean for you? Probably nothing if you WFH?

I'm currently on CD14 and had a +ve OPK today so I'll be ovulating tomorrow. Appointment is also tomorrow so we will try to DTD afterwards. Not holding out much hope for this cycle as we've only DTD once on CD12 🤷‍♀️

HerringGull · 04/01/2021 16:44

@unCliche I don't know if it's true, but have read somewhere that in winter you're more likely to ovulate in the afternoon, so if it's true then DTD tomorrow night should be in time? Hope so! Good luck with the appointment 😊

Where I live, the nearest case of covid is currently about 50 miles away, but yes, locked down anyway! I guess better to have lockdown and no covid, than lockdown and covid as well, so not complaining. The changes from status quo vs new lockdown don't affect me personally, but probably really bad for others. Not sure how it differs to the current rules in English tier 4, or Wales or NI, but sure everyone else will end up in lockdown too at some point 😔

unCliche · 04/01/2021 17:42

@HerringGull Ok let's hope that that's right! I would have hoped I'd ovulate on CD16 like last cycle but I guess CD15 is better than nothing.

I guess it's better that way. Anyone living 50 miles away can easily travel to your area and spread it around without the lockdown in place so it's better safe than sorry that way. I agree, another nationwide lockdown could impact so many people negatively 🙁 Apparently there's an announcement tonight so the whole country will probably follow suit anyway. I can already see on mumsnet that a lot of parents are worried. Will your child be off school now?

EllyNC · 04/01/2021 19:43

@unCliche don’t opks suggest ovulation in the Next 24-36 hours? You never know might be closer to 36! Plus the egg lives 24 hours so even if you ovulate tomorrow morning or overnight tonight you’ve still got a chance if you dtd tomorrow!
@HerringGull defo agree. I think it’s likely the announcement tonight is full lockdown so you won’t be alone!

unCliche · 04/01/2021 20:43

Yup, look like we have another national lockdown...

@EllyNC yes, I think I'll definitely be ovulating tomorrow, so my egg probably won't die until Wednesday so we'll probably DTD then too! How is your gas?

Cc7750 · 04/01/2021 21:31

@unCliche 🤞🏻For you!

@EllyNC I feel you on the gas front, it’s hell!

EllyNC · 04/01/2021 21:32

@unCliche hahaha what a question! The things we discuss haha! Little better this afternoon/evening- I was so so uncomfortable this morning! Mega bloated Still tho But guess that’s to be expected.
Yay that you still have the chance to catch the egg 😁

Pudding01 · 04/01/2021 22:11

Great scan picture 💖 what a lovely experience for Christmas!

Sorry about the gas @EllyNC, first trimester isn't great is it?! Much preferred the second.

So we are using lockdown 4.0 to get fit again so we aren't unrecognisable eggs when the grounding is lifted 😂😂 (I'm only 5ft2 and put a stone on since the second lockdown! Oops. Weight watchers for me! X

EllyNC · 06/01/2021 11:23

Last line progression test- promised DH I won’t do anymore! Lol!! Dark enough, right?

How’s everyone doing?
@Pudding01 good for you! Is weight watchers good? I’ve done slimming world in the past with my mum and basically loved it cus you can eat all the pasta in the world haha.

@unCliche how did the appointment go?

Cc7750 · 06/01/2021 12:04

@EllyNC I would say you can’t get much darker!

unCliche · 06/01/2021 12:30

That is a pretty dark line @EllyNC 😁

My appointment went fine thanks. I was just on the verge of ovulating and could see the dominant follicle (in my left ovary) on the ultrasound. The sonographer counted 11 follicles in my left ovary and 23 in my right ovary, which she said was polycystic. Also my endometrium looked nice and healthy.

I've looked into it and having polycystic ovaries (PCO) is different to having PCOS and doesn't impact fertility and apparently PCO is "considered a common variant of normal ovaries" so I'm not too worried about it.

DH hated having to do his business at the clinic and was a bit traumatised afterwards! 😂

We'll be speaking with the consultant on Monday about the results so hopefully everything will come back fine!

Cc7750 · 06/01/2021 12:51

@unCliche sounds like it went well and positive! So good to put your mind at rest as well!

EllyNC · 06/01/2021 14:02

@unCliche that sounds positive- yeah they are defo different, do you have any of the symptoms of pcos? 🤞🏻🤞🏻 For you it’s just the pco! I had this too many years ago and they’d mostly disappeared by the time I had my scans for DS!! Hopefully yours disappear too!

unCliche · 06/01/2021 15:13

@EllyNC No, I don't think I have PCOS. I ovulate every month, AF is a nice steady flow, I don't really suffer from terrible menstrual cramps and AF is pretty regular. And I'm pretty hairless! But if you've had PCO and managed to conceive then at least the physical part of my fertility is fine!

Have you looked into scheduling something with a midwife, or whatever the process is?

EllyNC · 06/01/2021 17:13

@unCliche absolutely!! They just had a look for my cysts in my scans and they were gone, I didn’t hear anything else about it! It shouldn’t have an effect for you 😊
I need to self refer but I’m not sure when to do it, I think there is still a part of me that’s just expecting AF to show up, after last month!! I did speak to my dr tho as on quite a few meds I needed to check/alter!

When did everyone else self refer To the midwives?

EllyNC · 06/01/2021 17:40

Just self referred lol, decided to stop panicking and do it!!

HerringGull · 06/01/2021 18:01

Fingers crossed they don't find anything wrong @unCliche! I actually have PCOS and conceived in 3 months last time. I maintain a healthy weight though, and take inositol to help, so I think I'm on top of it. I guess if you just have the cysts but not the PCOS it'll be even less bother for you 😊

@EllyNC when I was pregnant last time I self-referred at 5 weeks, and they said 'ooh that's very early'! They didn't mind though 😊 Feels like it's more real once you've done it eh!

OP posts:
HerringGull · 06/01/2021 18:02

Also, where are you both in your cycle @unCliche and @Pudding01? I'm cd4, yawn!

OP posts:
Cc7750 · 06/01/2021 20:10

@EllyNC I self referred last week, I just ticked the box to say I was over 6 weeks. You can’t do it in East Sussex before then apparently!

I have the private 8 week scan next week and apparently I will get an email next week from the referral about a 10wk appointment before 12wk scan

unCliche · 06/01/2021 21:18

@HerringGull 1dpo I think! Glad to hear your PCOS hasn't impacted you too negatively. I'm still going to assume there's something wrong with me until proven otherwise! 😁

@Cc7750 ooh so exciting! You'll be seeing your baby very soon!

Pudding01 · 07/01/2021 18:39

@HerringGull cd11 today and just having sexy time when the mood takes us, which is nice. Feels a bit odd not poas and trying to be more controlled! Will hopefully ovulate between Sat-Weds!

@EllyNC great line! WW is good for me as i need strictness and guidance and I don't have that much imagine with cooking haha. WW works for me as carbs and sugar are my weakness and that's what they cut off massively.
