Hi,

Hope you can help! Feeling a bit confused/disheartened. I'm using One Step OPKs and have been taking them since CD6 - not peeing for 4 hours before a test and taking them between 1-3 every day. Negatives for 6 days and then today at CD13 got a positive at 2pm. Took another tonight just for curiosity and it's negative?

Does that mean we're too late to DTD tonight?

I lost my wee boy at 18 weeks, his due date is on Wednesday and sometimes can't believe I'm actually back trying to figure all this out...you'd think I'd be clued up on it all by now, haha. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks :)

@Brightspark12 this is our 3rd month, but our first one I think we completely missed ovulation so don't really count it! How long have you been trying?

Has your OPK progressed anymore today? Xx

KerryW87 · 09/01/2021 14:47

@Hmmm22 First pineapple has been consumed...did feel like a bit of a headcase chomping on pineapple cores but if it works I'm game 😂😂🤞 Any symptoms to spot yet? Haha

@Brightspark12 Ahh yeah Hmmm22 is right, testing in the afternoon/evening is more effective as your LH levels start to rise in the morning so can be more accurately detected in the afternoon! I would only ever test first thing if I'd had an almost positive looking test the day before, worked this cycle as I got a really dark positive yesterday morning! Hope you get a positive soon! 🤞

@Hmmm22 nothing this morning from Clearblue... and internet cheapies showing nothing.. very frustrating! Fingers crossed for you. We aren’t trying but not not trying if that makes sense. Yes any Symptom spotting yet?! X

@KerryW87 thank you! A lot of people have said that so I’m going to try it.. probably next month now! Either not ovulated or missed it 😂x

Hmmm22 · 09/01/2021 21:01

@KerryW87 hahaha got to try it haven't you! I did actually google it after you mentioned it and it does seem to be a thing. Literally not a symptom in sight! Very strange, but making life a bit easier as it's not on my mind 24/7. How are you?

@Brightspark12 have you tracked ovulation before? If you have, what cycle day was it on last time? You may not have missed it if your cycle is usually 29 days xx

KerryW87 · 10/01/2021 07:47

@Hmmm22 I know! I was surprised I hadn't heard of it before after I googled it to be honest...thought after a combined total of 11 months TTC Id have learned every trick in the book by now 😂

You never know, could be a good thing! Obviously everyone and every pregnancy is different but when I got my BFP with my wee boy I remember actually crying because I hadn't had any of my usual cramps and assumed my cycles must've been SO off that I was going to have a super long one and hadn't even ovulated yet...nope, pregnant 😂💕 How many DPO are you now?

Yeah fine thanks! Swamped with uni work due in on Wednesday and preparing online activities/filming videos for my nursery class, also homeschooling my two starts tomorrow...at least it might make the TWW go in quicker? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

OP posts:
Hmmm22 · 10/01/2021 13:35

@KerryW87 yeah it's really strange as other cycles I've had such prominent symptoms but I actually just feel 100% normal. It's throwing me off like you said it did you, making me think I've not ovulated 😂 I'm 6 DPO today. Due on my period Friday/Saturday!

Oh wow you've got your plate full haven't you! Hoping for your benefit that'll distract you on your TWW! Did you manage to follow the SMEP ok? Xx

KerryW87 · 10/01/2021 15:01

@Hmmm22 Ahh I really hope it's a good sign in your case like it was for me last year! 🤞🤞

Yep, followed it to the letter so I am due to write a complaint to whoever invented the method if I don't get a BFP this month 😂

Hope you can find some distraction during the dreaded wait! xx

OP posts:
Hmmm22 · 10/01/2021 18:09

@KerryW87 hahaha have to google the CEO of SMEP email address!

This time we tried to really focus on the timings, last time we just did it before we went to bed, but I was thinking that could easily mean you miss the egg. Was over thinking it a fair bit 😂😂

I'm going to try and wait to test until the last minute xx

Brightspark12 · 10/01/2021 18:37

Best of luck to you guys in your TWW sending positive vibes! Still no positive at all on clearblue. Had a high LH score on my IC test but no peak on CD15. My BBT dropped on CD16 also and has been consistently high for the past 2 days. If it’s still high tomorrow should I just assume I ovulated on CD17? I’m so confused 😂xx

Hmmm22 · 11/01/2021 18:57

@Brightspark12 I have never tracked my temp so I'm not entirely sure how it works, sorry! What was your LH % on CD15? It may be that you missed it on that day if you only tested in the morning. Next cycle do one at around 1pm/2pm and then 5pm/6pm after holding your wee for around 3 to 4 hours and you should hopefully get more accurate results xx

Brightspark12 · 11/01/2021 21:11

@Hmmm22 my LH was 64% which registered as high but just off peak on CD15 morning then dropped to 40% in the evening. By CD16 it had dropped to almost nothing. Maybe you’re right and I missed my peak. First month doing it all so can only improve next cycle! How are you feeling?xx

Hmmm22 · 11/01/2021 21:17

@Brightspark12 yeah it definitely takes some getting use to! Last month I didn't catch my peak but thought I had. But now that I had my peak this month I realised I wasn't there yet last time. The whole thing is a guessing game, so don't beat yourself up about it.

Yeah I'm feeling fine, still 0 symptoms. I've felt exhausted but I've had a lot going on so I don't think that counts. How are you? Xx

Hmmm22 · 13/01/2021 09:02

@KerryW87 I did an IC this morning which was negative Sad but I am only 9 dpo so I know I'm being irrational! How are you holding out? Xx

KerryW87 · 13/01/2021 09:07

@Hmmm22 Oh I feel you, I tested from 9DPO last month, why do we do this to ourselves? 🙈 9DPO is SUPER early so definitely don't lose hope! So hope that it's a BFP in a few days! 🤞Any symptoms?

I've had the most stressful few days with the uni submissions, homeschooling and stuff for work so the good thing is it's kept me distracted! Submitted my essays last night so I'll be symptom spotting like no ones business now 😂 Got a positive opk on Friday so I'm maybe 4-5DPO right now? xx

Hi @KerryW87 just saw your first post today. I also lost my boy in the second trimester at just under 5 months.

I’m not sure if it’s been said but try to do your ovulation sticks at all times of the day. For example when you wake up (not with the first urine) then again around 2pm and maybe before you head to bed. I say that bcos I’ve had positives at all times before, 9am, 3pm or 9pm and my surge also goes down very quickly, like within two /3 hours.

Prior to having my son I’ve had two miscarriages but all three times I was pregnant I managed to fall pregnant in the first cycle. I had my son in February last year and we started to try again when we felt up to it but my ovulation and body was all over the place. Cycles were still within the normal range around 27-30 days and we were getting frustrated not understanding what the issue was and I think just desperately wanting to be pregnant again after losing our son.

It’s taken a while (for me) but I found out last week that I’m pregnant again so early days but we are petrified.

I know it can be frustrating especially after a loss like that but keep at it. X

Hmmm22 · 13/01/2021 10:02

@KerryW87 no still nothing! Just bloating really, a hint of nausea this morning but nothing significant! None of my usual symptoms of ovulation have occurred over the last week.

Wow bet that's a relief to finally have it all handed in, well done. Have you had any symptoms to spot? Xx

KerryW87 · 13/01/2021 15:51

@Greenbks Hiya and thank you so much for your message ❤️ I'm so sorry for your loss too, it's hands-down the worst thing I have ever experienced. Changes you forever but also a comfort to know you can keep going after something like that and find happiness, I remember being so terrified before labour was induced that it was going to be something I could never recover from, but you get there.

Ahh that is lovely news! Congratulations and hope you have a very happy and healthy 9 months :) It took us 5 months to conceive our boy and we're now on month 6, just hoping it's luck so far and there isn't anything wrong with me...although, I know it's well within a year! You're right, you just feel so desperate after losing your baby.

I'll definitely be sure to try testing in the mornings/nights too if I don't fall this month! Thanks very much for the help! x

OP posts:
KerryW87 · 13/01/2021 15:53

@Hmmm22 Ohh, here's hoping the nausea could be a sign? It's just the worst, isn't it knowing that symptoms could mean something or nothing and having to wait it out! Drives you crazy 😂😫 Are you going to test every day or wait it out a bit?

No nothing! I usually cramp from ovulation right up to AF, had some wee crampy twinges today but nothing too bad. Too early for any implantation symptoms but just hoping this pineapple has done the trick 😂🍍

OP posts:
Hmmm22 · 13/01/2021 18:13

@KerryW87 yeah I had a few little twinges yesterday but nothing like normal. I got some FRER today so I might test tomorrow morning, which again is still early so I'm not sure why I'm torturing myself!

I know, symptoms could mean pregnant or no symptoms could mean pregnant, you literally can't win haha. When do you plan on testing?

If the pineapple has done the trick for you this month then you best believe I will be in that shop finding the best looking pineapple next cycle haha! Xx

KerryW87 · 14/01/2021 13:19

@Hmmm22 Aw the entire TWW is torture but when you get to the daily testing part it's enough to drive you insane...a total emotional rollercoaster! Have you tested today?

I'm trying very hard not to get my hopes up 🙈 I usually have cramps every day from ovulation up to AF, my tell when I fell pregnant last year was no cramps....I've had no cramps since I ovulated this cycle 😳 Although with my luck the past six months it's more likely some messed up cycle 😂😩 Wish it was next week! x

@KerryW87 I am having a bit of a mare actually! Can I PM you? Do you have the mobile site to PM? Xx

KerryW87 · 15/01/2021 14:55

@Hmmm22 Aw no! Yeah I do, course go ahead! xx

OP posts:
KerryW87 · 16/01/2021 18:27

@Hmmm22 I don't know if you get notifications for PMs on this (I don't!) so just to let you know I replied to your PM ❤️
