new thread...again!!

OP posts:
ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 18:04

You didn't kill the conversation... something happened to MN and I couldn't post for ages, until I went to the top and clicked on customise talk. Phew, normality resumed.

toomuchtimehaunting · 25/10/2007 18:13

oh no - how did you cope Ready

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 18:16

OMG! Where did the halloween hats come from? What's going on with MN, first I couldn't post, then the colours went all different and the thread was split into pages and now there are hats everywhere (which I actually kinda like )

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 19:35

It's gone all weird here too - different colours and the thread's all the wrong way round Do you think this is new, improved MN or are there gremlins in the system? Love the halloween hats though

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 19:36

and there are 'fast forward' buttons and pages too...weird

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 19:41

Just discovered, it is the new way... go to the top of your page and click on "customise talk board" - you can change it so all the posts are on the same page etc... normality has once again resumed

For a while earlier it wouldn't let me post - I thought, yeah, this is just what I need today. tut.

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 19:48

I just set mine to old colours, newest messages first and unlimited messages per page (so just like old MN then..) but I like the new options when you search for active conversations

gillypumpkin · 25/10/2007 19:55

Phew, I was in a panic there as I couldn't read the posts! Thanks for the tip Ready. How are you hun? Btw my exclamation earlier on was meant to be 'bugger' but it sort of came out wrong . Treat yourself to rose, chocolate and a girly film.

Toomuch I sort of came across the class thanks to Nomore who sent me a link to the debbie bliss webpage and it has links to local places which sell her wool. To tell you the truth it all sounds quite posh in a North London kind of way I'm hoping to knit myself a bugaboo!

I can;t find the links to the funny baby grows can someone post them again please?

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 20:02

hi gilly great newson the knitting front - y local shop had a poster advertising a knitting course too - it must be the thing to do on these dark winter nights.
ready sorry about CD1

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 20:03

news on and my knitting shop [grr]

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 21:25

Gilly - I knew what you were trying to say Unfortunately I am holed up in the spare room waiting for dh to get back. There is half a chocolate orange tempting me, but I think that I will wait until dh gets back, chocolate and a cuddle are a winning combo
Could I place my order for a knitted bugaboo please

Nomore - Ditto, I have changed it to more or less the layout it was before. I was not impressed with the changes - the colours were all wrong. Stuck in our ways???

It's such a shame we don't all live closer, we could have a knitting club

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 21:27

MT and toomuch - I agree that the article was an interesting read. I am quite stuck in my thoughts on the matter though, so I won't be stopping ttc to prevent a summer baby. If we are meant to have a summer baby then who am I to argue - but you girls have got to do what feels right for you, and if you feel strongly that summer babies suffer, and want to hold off ttc then that's what you've gotta do

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 21:39

am I being selfish to just think I want a baby whenever/wherever/however? (I have seen someone on MN refer to a martini baby, any time any place, anywhere!)

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 22:20

No, you are not selfish. (links please )

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 22:41

links to what? Confused

mistlethrush · 25/10/2007 22:48

All gone very weird. Wrong colours - pages (what's that about?)

Probably won't post much over next few days - my parents coming up to visit, as is mil and dh' good friend. Might be a bit busy. . Mind you, plenty of people to look after ds so I don't have to (that nearly came out as gin!!!! )(only because he's quite full-on at the moment and not really feeling up to being so in-to everything!)

This place is great - really helps doesn't it - talking (OK writing) to other people that are in the same or similar sorts of situations...

Have a good Friday and weekend everyone

mistlethrush · 25/10/2007 22:52

I know what you mean re anytime - but with me, and previous history, need to be 100% that no other problems (once you've had mp, chance of it coming back is hugely higher - and I had to have chemo - which makes it more unlikely to have got in the 1st place....) - so will work for us both ways. Really schooling needs to be sorted differently so that there are at least 2 assessment sessions per year rather than just one, but that's not likely to happen.

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 22:55

nooomoooore - link to where you saw the phrase Martini baby... to get context. Sorry for confusing you

MT - Yes, MN is great for support. I would have been a wreck without it

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 22:57

I have no idea where I saw it (prob on one of those how can I get a pink one as I have six blues already type of thread) but the OP was saying it in the same context as I was in that she'd settle for a martini baby.

noooomoooorescarynames · 25/10/2007 23:00

here it is and it was chocolatedays who first said it

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2007 23:05

Love it!!! I want a Martini baby!!! It is official.

And to reiterate, now that I am fully up to speed with the lingo, you are not selfish at all noomoore!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a baby whenever!

toomuchtimehaunting · 26/10/2007 09:53

Hey guys - my mobile would not let me on this new spangly website last night - how annoying

anyway - hello everyone!! IT's the weekend nearly - yay!!

I think I want a martini baby too - I reckon I'm just trying to convince myself that if it doesn't happen before xmas it's for the best so that I don't feel too upset.. pathetic I know!

Oo - might check out the debbie bliss website and see if I can find a class too..

How's everyone feeling today? MT - are you better? Ready - hope AF isn't giving you too much jip. Nomore - how's it hanging dude? Gilly - how's work this week? Everyone else - big wave

PiggyPenguin · 26/10/2007 18:34

Blimey, I've been away a few days and the new look really freaked me out! And coming in at the beginning of the thread, who thought that would be a good idea?

Anyway, have now gone back to normal (as I suspect as everyone else - pity the poor tech bods who slaved over those changes!) so how are you all? Will try to scroll down and see what I have missed, the knitting sounds like it is coming on!

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 26/10/2007 20:55

Tray of Martini's - anyone want one

teeheelaydee · 27/10/2007 20:23

Evening ladies - Can I join you ?

TTC #1 for about 10 months and just had mc at 9+5. On ttc after mc thread as well and it has been fab for support.

Your talk of shopping and knitting has made me think of normal things which is great. Have seen the Debbie Bliss book and loved it but DP bought different easy baby knits for my bday. Currently doing a baby blanket (thankfully started it b4 pg so been able to face picking up this week)
