Does anyone else have a hard time refusing alcohol from people who don't know you're trying, because you don't want to clue them in, but then feel like you're chugging poison if you do drink to pacify them? I have a dilemma coming up tomorrow.

@Hopeful110 by the time I thought to take a pic it had dried and become a squinter, which it wasn’t before 😅 so I’ll try again tomorrow and hope for a stronger line to post a pic of 😄

And goodness. I really hope the nausea doesn’t get worse. I thought I was safe to try this month because I didn’t expect and also thought the nausea would appear at 6 weeks when we got back. What have I done 😩🤣 no complaints though.

@NestinginNL haha! With my DD I never had any symptoms until 18 weeks when I got heartburn.
But right now I keep thinking I'd take all the symptoms if it means I have a healthy bfp, so sickness is something you pray for to begin with and then when ya have it you totally change your mind 🤣

I'm 4 dpo today, had a temp drop yesterday but rose again today higher than it was before, I literally felt so sick on Tuesday night I couldn't eat my dinner either and I woke up in the night last needing a wee twice...something I never do. But hey...no symptom spotting here 🤭 oh I also had to remove my piercing from my left nipple as for some reason its gone all sore and started bleeding, so not sure what thats about haha!

Sorry to hear about the bfn @Minster2012 will you not test again this weekend just incase it's a late bfp? until af arrives there is still a chance!

But congrats to @NestinginNL for the faint line! Hope it's the start of more bfp lines to come for this bus

I caved in at 8dpo and tested with an ic 😅 a bit early so guess what, pure white lol thought I had line eyes in the bathroom light but it definitely looks as white as it can be in natural sun light. Oh well gonna maybe test again on Sunday (if I can get past tomorrow morning without poas)

I did some exercise this morning 🤣 I looked at a photo of me before I started TTC and I was so much fitter, I think it's broken me more than I thought. It isn't lockdown that's done it, it's ttc and avoiding exercise in the tww for fear of shaking that little egg out 😂🙄 pretty sure it doesn't work like that and I'm just a crazy lady..

@Mosherchick where are you going? My DH made me a fake g&t at his parents last week (though he made a meal of making it himself so his dad didn't give me half a glass of glass like he usually does!) with ice, lemon & tonic water, looks totally legit. If it's your house or somewhere you can be in charge of drinks then that's easy to do. Not sure about out though, I've said I had a migraine earlier so not drinking before just in case it comes back!

@Mrsbear1122 thank you 😘I will test against tomorrow but my official test day is next weds, I won't have AF as the IVF medicine stop it, so you keep taking them til your official test day & then if BFN stop the meds & few days later AF arrives. Then we'll hand to see how soon we can go for the last embryo, prob have to wait a cycle in between ' mine are all fucked up so that's xmas so likely new year 😩another reason why I'm sad, so long to wait.

@Sausage1990 so sorry to hear about it but glad that oh has been so supportive for you as well, must be awful being alone in hospital 🧡 glad the nurses were kind too. Sending lots of love and strength!

I think we might tell our close friends tomorrow. We are going to theirs for drinks and usually that entails prosecco and a couple of bottles of rum 🙈 the 'antibiotics' excuse wouldn't fly so we think we are just going to tell them and say it's really early, as we would tell them if we miscarry at this point too. Would be easier if we were hosting as I could do the fake g&t like @Minster2012 says (which I'll do when we have my parents over)

@Minster2012 I hope it turns bfp before stopping meds, I would find that really hard to do, wait a few more days... Cool on the fake g&t, how you fake cider?

@Minster2012 What a fab idea! Unfortunately, I'm going to my parents house, where the wine will be flowing for my Dad's birthday. So no chance of me faking it there! And I've used the headache excuse one too many times over the past few weeks too 😂
Think I'm just going to drink slowly and watch my intake. I could refuse for no reason of course, but my family would react like I'd been replaced by an imposter! And I can't be dealing with that right now.

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I'm not worrying yet, just getting impatient! Yeah you can't ask anymore of him if he's doing everything he can and quitting the smoking and drinking! Well I have everything crossed that they can be sorted🤞🏼 aw that'll be lovely!! Love a could squishy newborn, and nice that they know, sometimes if people don't know they can say things that they don't know upsets you!

@Mosherchick I'm very much a drink till it's pink kinda girl! But everyone has preferences so do whatever you feel comfortable with! Orrr say you're on some tablets that you can't drink with! Xx

@Mosherchick I'm with @Vil10 usually drink all way through but after IVF they tell you to "act like you are pregnant" & follow nhs guidelines so ive been good but I too have had a small white wine spritzer at in laws where I was then driving after my fake g&t just so it didn't look out of place! I would go with that.

@Franklydear you can buy alcohol free ciders, so if you are at home with ppl it's really good as you can pour that into a glass & it looks exactly the same (even tastes very very similar so they could sip it) and they never know! See attached, that's what I will be "drowning my sorrows with tonight!"

Some fab ideas there all! I will have a think and see what I can get away with 😄

@Mosherchick I'm using stoptober or sober October this month and it's working so far. I usually do dry Jan and as I didn't this year, I'm saying I'm using this month to make up for it, working so far!
@Vil10 impatience is a bitch right 😆 aw thank you! Yeah I'm so glad they all know. My dad loves putting his foot in it, so I don't have to worry about that at least lol!

@Mosherchick the one time where the COVID restrictions of not visiting another household is actually good 😆 no more trying to avoid drinking without being noticed.

When I used to abstain from alcohol during the 2WW (which after numerous months of BFN soon stopped), I found it ok but I was lucky that family and friends were always going to the kitchen and pouring/picking their own drinks. I pretended to have gin and soda but in fact was just drinking the soda. I even opened and held the gin bottle if someone was in the kitchen chatting to me then just closed it again and poured the soda and they didn't notice. If you're not acting suspiciously no one should be 🙂

I'm not sure who mentioned it now, but I so relate to the person who said that they're putting on weight during the 2wws because they're too afraid to work out and dislodge an egg 😂 Ditto! Goodbye toned belly and legs.

How are we all doing? I've got no clue when I ovulated or if I ovulated :/ but excellent news this morning my mums cancer has not spread anywhere its within the bowels so they will operate x

@Minster2012 @Mosherchick when I first started TTC I was so cautious, didn't want to drink anything then I thought well I could be trying for a long time and then I'll have 9 months of not drinking so I might as well enjoy myself now, when it can't harm the baby anyway during the TWW if you were to be pregnant, I don't drink excessively so I know alcohol would never be a reason for infertility!

@notyetamumbuttrying absolutely!! So OH has just rang and said it's only a £50 voucher towards anything fertility treatments/scans/tests, so I've just thought no we aren't bothering, we've been trying for 5 months, it's nothing, when it gets to 8/9 months then we'll use it, I want to enjoy the experience and not put anymore pressure in ourselves, if we were older I'd consider using it but we time!
