It’s our first month of vaguely trying so I’m not convinced that it will obviously happen but despite that it’s dragging so much !

I'm 7dpo I think though not sure whether to count from the darkest line or the day after as the sticks show the surge before ovulation - any insights? So I might be 6dpo :-( Managed not to test today. Going to try and make it to 10dpo

How's everyone else doing?

xx

It's started :-(

@Sionmam usually you will ovulate 12-24 hours after your +opk. But it can be anything up to 36 hours. I got my +opk on 26th Oct so I likely ovulated on 27th Oct, I am 8dpo today. I think you might be counting a day ahead so don't be too disheartened with the bfn, it's still very early.

Think I am going to test Friday or Saturday at 10/11dpo, but I'm not very hopful this month. I've been charting my temps this month but they are causing more stress that good, I dont have that obvious "thermal shift" that is supposed to confirm ovulation, so I am worried that I'm not actually ovulating. Wish I hadn't started temping.

Sionemam · 04/11/2020 09:01

@LetsD0ThisThing thanks so much that's really useful, feel like I've learnt so much in just one month! In that case we ovulated on the same day :-) I have a short 26 day cycle so 11dpo is the day my period is due, or maybe the day before as occasionally 27 day cycle.

I have been having tugging feelings around where my uterus is this morning so maaaaybe am implanting today, so I guess the htc won't be strong enough for a day or two anyway.

I'll try and wait until Friday 10dpo and fingers and toes crossed for you! Thank you!! xxx

Trying4one · 04/11/2020 16:19

I am keeping my fingers crossed for all you ladies this month 🤞
Update from me - had my scan with EPAU today and I am measuring at 7 weeks and saw a fetal pole with heartbeat ❤️ so happy that I could cry 🤣
I am hoping you ladies will be joining me soon

Sionemam · 04/11/2020 18:14

Yeeeey! Wonderful thanks for letting us know xxx

LetsD0ThisThing · 04/11/2020 19:21

@Trying4one that's great news. There's nothing like hearing your baby's heart beat for the first time ❤ so happy for you.

Sionemam · 05/11/2020 06:17

Morning (up with the toddler!), another BFN this morning (what does the BF stand for by the way? Imagine Big Friendly 😂).

BUT stumbled on a Mumsnet thread saying some batches of One Step strips are dodgy and have been recalled, so I went to Amazon and looked at the ones I bought - 100% bad reviews, about 10, saying they don't work at all. So I've KIND OF not tested yet this month 😂 Lucky to find out just in case as was planning to drink wine this weekend after the BFN.

Not going to have time to buy a decent test until the weekend now which will be 12dpo

So watch out for the First Response strips ladies!

Sionemam · 06/11/2020 07:17

Morning
Had a BFP yesterday evening but a fainter line / negative this morning, possibly another chemical :(

@Sionmam I feel I can see something on the blue dye test. Maybe later in tonight or tomorrow will give you more accurate results, hcg may just be very low right now. Fingers crossed for you.

I did a test this morning I'm 10dpo, bfn!

Sionemam · 06/11/2020 10:28

@LetsD0ThisThing ah so sorry but you never know like you say ovulation can be much later after surge than we think and no AF yet.

Thanks for your reply. I still 'feel' pregnant with weird mild mild sort of nice cramps but will test later and I'm know chemicals are common. It's hard isn't it.

Sionemam · 08/11/2020 12:29

Just an update from me I got another faint positive on Friday 11PDO and then got my period today so my second chemical in two months of trying, bit gutted. Thinking it could be to do with breastfeeding as seen to be fertilising eggs but not holding on to them, so could be a progesterone thing. Going to try and stop breastfeeding before next ovulation. Hope everyone else is having a better month! Sending good wishes to you all in your baby quests xx

LetsD0ThisThing · 08/11/2020 14:11

@Sionmam I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you check your temperature? Apparently when progesterone rises so foes your temperature, which is usually after ovulation. It should stay elevated until day before AF, or stay elevated if you're pregnant.

My temp dropped yesterday, and AF arrived this morning. I'm so confused because I had 28 day cycles, then my CP cycle was 29 days, last month 27 days and now 25 days - cycle seems to be getting 2 days shorter each month. 9 years ago after my MMC it took me 10/11 months to conceive DS2, I was told I possibly have PCOS - I conceived just before my appointment where they were going to investigate more so I never really knew. I do think I have it though as looking at symptoms I tick many boxes. I've ordered some supplements that are supposed to help with pcos, they have good reviews so I figured it can't do any harm to try them. My temperature doesn't increase much after expected ovulation, this is why I believe I may not be ovulating every cycle. Or even if I am, it looks like my progesterone isn't always high enough to carry a pregnancy - another symptom of pcos. Going to give it till February (6 months) and if we still haven't conceived I might dicuss it woth my GP.

We're both CD 1 then. Do you use the app to measure your opks? I use premom app, and easy at home opks. You can also chart your bbt on there if you're not charting already. Fingers crossed for us both this cycle.

Sionemam · 08/11/2020 14:29

Ah sorry to hear about AF this month. That sounds really sensible @LetsD0ThisThing to wait 6 months and then contact your GP especially if they were going to investigate further before you conceived your son. Would your sticks show low progesterone? Also you know best but cycles can vary a lot.
A friend at work was diagnosed with PCOS a while after conceiving her DD and had her son seven years later, sure there are good Mumsnet threads on experiences.

TBH I can’t get the hang of temperature testing probably need a new thermometer. May try the temp thing again if I have another chemical.

Don’t use these but might start on a big learning curve re TTC

LetsD0ThisThing · 08/11/2020 14:52

@Sionmam no the opks only confirm an LH surge, and that the body is getting ready to ovulate, they don't actually confirm ovulation occurred. My temperatures look as though my body tried to ovulate a couple of times after my peak, as they went up and dropped back down a few times. The app couldn't even mark my coverline this month as temps were so up and down. It will happen when it happens I know, but our boys are 12 and 7 so quite a big age gap already, plus I'm 34. I need to stop stressing 😫

Sionemam · 08/11/2020 16:01

Ah that’s it, it WILL happen not ‘if’ but ‘when’ but it’s hard not to be stressed when we’re juggling sibling age gaps (mine’s only two) and our own age (But I’m 37 so that’s the pressure for me to birth before 39 - or get over the age thing!) work and time pressures, maternity leave complications (like @Amy259) and million other things AND you can’t tell many people! No wonder we go crazy on the tww it’s worse than having a job interview plus rejection every month! x

Amy259 · 08/11/2020 22:15

@Trying4one the best news!! Congrats ♥️

@LetsD0ThisThing sorry to hear af arrived and that your cycles seem to be messed up. It’s never straightforward is it??

@Sionemam I’m so sorry to hear that it looks like you had another chemical.. that’s so unfair. Hope you’re planning on spoiling yourself a little this week!

Yeah I’m finding it hard not to stress too, I feel like there’s never going to be that perfect “right” time... it feels like there’s always something complicating things. I want it so much I’m struggling to stay logical with waiting a bit so mat pay kicks in, DH is much more matter of fact than me!! x

Katierose34 · 10/11/2020 14:37

Hello ladies, how is everyone? Xx

LetsD0ThisThing · 10/11/2020 18:50

@Katierose34 hi, I'm now on the 4th cycle and just CD3.

How are you?

Sionemam · 11/11/2020 08:45

Hi @Katierose34 exactly the same for me.
Hope you're doing ok? x

Katierose34 · 12/11/2020 15:51

I'm good thanks, currently waiting for af to arrive again!

Sionemam · 16/11/2020 08:14

Any updates @Katierose34 ? I'll start using the ovulation sucks in the next day or two as CD10 on Wednesday xx

Katierose34 · 16/11/2020 14:34

Af arrived last night 😔
At least I can get it out the way and start a new cycle xx

Sionemam · 16/11/2020 14:49

Ah sorry to hear that. Good positive, it’s day 1, a new cycle and every chance this will be your lucky one xx

Sionemam · 30/11/2020 15:24

How is everyone doing? Interested to know where you are @LetsD0ThisThing as we started on CD1 together :-)
I'm 8dpo (ish) and managed to lower my expectations and have not tested, doing better than last month :)
