nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 20:25

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 20:27

OMG didn't know I was party to an illegal act!!
Why are you off to UAE? work?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 20:28

and more importantly are you going to be able to get on MN from UAE?

OP posts:
shoesarefab · 09/10/2007 20:31

only 2 lived with me, my parents split up when i was a baby. to cut a long story short, my mum passed away, leaving her second daughter to live with on of her sisters. who is a jehovah's witness. as I went to be with my dad (Roman Catholic upbringing) I became the black sheep and dont see that side of the family anymore!

But yes, it was a very noisy household. My dad still whines about it to this day. lol

shoesarefab · 09/10/2007 20:33

my other half is setting up a company out there. My official job title will be sunbathing queen

I have my blackberry and laptop so MN connection not a problem

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 20:40

Your poor dad
Sunbathing queen? Well if you need a deputy I might be available Sounds fab!! Are you planning on coming back after 3 months or is it 3 months then see what's happening?
Definite re MN

OP posts:
shoesarefab · 09/10/2007 20:55

3 months and see whats happening. as my bf wont be earning any money (he trades his own money on the stock markets), he is just setting up the arcade whereby he hopes to entice traders over from london to the sun and tax free lifestyle. He may start trading there himself, if so we'll stay.

Alot depends on how quickly I get preggers though :-)

And what about your good self?

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 20:59

Me - well I've been married 5 years, ttc for nearly 2 Am on 4th cycle on Clomid (a drug to make you ov) I have two moggies (who are currently running around the lounge getting spooked by things that aren't there) as substitute babies

OP posts:
shoesarefab · 09/10/2007 21:09

2 years? wow, thats harsh. Sorry to hear it. Is there a problem with fertility/sperm or is just not happening?

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 21:31

DH's sperm not brilliant (only 3% are viable, norm is 15% though his quantity is above average, so hopefully some of those 3% will one day do the job) and I wasn't ovulating (hence drugs to make me do so) It's been 6 months since tests and three months taking clomid to make me ovulate, just started 4th month. Back to gynae in Feb 08 if no BFP by then...am glad to be doing something pro-active after so many months of failure. Don't get worried by my story though, I'm the exception to the rule, just be aware that it might not happen straight away.

Morning all! How are we? I'm still waiting for this indian summer to kick in..

mistlethrush · 10/10/2007 08:56

Nomore - you're not the exception to the rule - its just that shoes has found a string where there are a number of us who don't manage it immediately. I mean, look at me - took 6 years before ds (Shoes, sorry, long story why I'm on this thread even though I have ds, but want to stick around as I feel at home here!) - and now 18 months down 2nd time...

Shoes - re UAE and 'knocked up' - well, you know what he can do about that don't you! Sounds as though you just need to get the dress to go with one of the pairs of shoes!

Sounds fantastic, although a bit daunting in some ways. Will you be away for Christmas?

flosspot · 10/10/2007 10:07

Just poking my head round the door as nomore has tracked me down and chastised me!!

Nothing to report here- still living with the irrational fear of mc at any moment. Hasn't stopped me buying maternity bras though.

Keeping everything crossed for you all....

toomuchtimeonline · 10/10/2007 10:09

Hi floss!! Glad all is going ok!

Morning Gilly - I may have to buy the book and give them a go as they are just toooo cute!

Shoes - Dubai sounds amazing - I'm very jealous - particularly since it is so grey and miserable today!

Think I'll give it a go too Gilly!! Off to find it on Amazon!

PiggyPenguin · 10/10/2007 11:00

hey all, loving the knitting but I am useless at anything more complicated than a garter stitch. Also, mum knitted bucket loads for ds and then he born in a really hot May and had grown out of them by the time autumn came along.

Now I come to think of it, he spent first 4 months of life in a vest and socks. A good look, but didn't make the most of the adorable and expensive togs I'd spent the previous nine months buying for him. Still, its all the shopping really isn't it!

toomuchtimeonline · 10/10/2007 11:17

Morning Sybil - what's your EDD this time? Will you be able to make use of a cute cardie and hat

PiggyPenguin · 10/10/2007 11:22

Trying not to get too excited about it after mc last time so haven't exactly worked it out but think it is around 16th June (how's that for not exact then - who do I think I'm kidding with this huh?)

maybe a little hat or two. The shop ones are always miles too big. OOh, and perhaps some cute little footsies. Oh oh, and maybe also, a verrrrrrrrrrry soft shawl as babies love those. My 6 year old still sleeps with his baby one. Bet you're regreting offering now eh?

the only problem with a knitting thread is that given my complete inability to knit anything other than straight lines in garter I will end up known as 'scarf lady'. All other mn's will be able to recognise me in the street by my wide variety of colourful(but easy) knitting.
