Ladies the thread got too big so I have started a new one hope you don't mind, I will cart the list and the tonnes of baby dust over in a minute.......................

OP posts:
ladylush · 08/10/2007 16:20

I am trying not to get myself in a tizz over ttc as I usually get pregnant quite easily - if it's taking longer this time maybe it will stick, which is the most important thing.

penguin - I get long periods, though tailing off now at cd5. How do you calculate your cycle? I used to count mine from time I got brown spotting, but now count it from first day of red blood. Longest period was about 10 days.

penguinmum · 08/10/2007 16:27

I was counting from spotting, but now counting from red blood. Though, oddly, i don't seem to get cramps until about cd4!?! Maybe I should count from cramps!

ladylush · 08/10/2007 17:03

it's annoying when you get spotting several days before period starts isn't it.

GardenAngel4 · 08/10/2007 18:34

muppet am so in the Reflexology camp. It was particularly fantastic just before DD. Within a few seconds of fiddling (technical term) with my toes she knew about my sore right shoulder, painful left knee and that I wasn't drinking enough water!

Feeling more positive today (sk hope you are too) think it's the weather and we had a triumph with a banana!

(That's with DD not BDing!!!!)

libralady · 08/10/2007 18:43

My goodness. It has taken me all afternoon to catch up after being on hols for a fortnight. Read through the old thread and then struggled to fine the continuation.
Had a fab holiday and spent a lovely day in Ireland celebrating my birthday and our anniversary on 2nd. (We holidayed in North Wales and went over to Ireland for a day trip).
Well TEW showed her face on time on 26th September so we took a day trip to Alton Towers. At least I could go on the rides without the fear of am I or aren't I. So now I am CD 13 and according to my CBDM I am at peak fertility yesterday and today so we've been doing the obligatory Bding. Here's hoping I'll get at BFP at the end of October.
Congratulations to all the graduates so far and huge hugs to Ladylush on you sad losses last week. I can sympathise with you slightly (although I know it is not the same) but my Mum and Dad tested me on Saturday morning (the day we were returning) to advise us that one of our cats had died in his sleep dunring the week. Worst of all he died on my birthday and our anniversary. Never mind he was 17 and had led a good life.
I'll update myself on the list in a bit.
Let's hope some of this babydust is going to rub off on the rest of us this month.
LLxx

Thanks for your feeback on my situation. I spoke to DH last night as he knew I was . He only asked the doctor out of concern for me and my mental state so I can only be grateful for that. I had an appointment with a doctor today about something totally unrelated but I had to ask about the "hormones being all over the place". Doc today said it doesn't matter how many hormones are all over the place only one is present if you are PG and that is detected on the test. So it really does sound like chemical pregnancy.

Ladylush - Personally I would keep ttc, this is yours and your families lives/future and I'm sure your friend would understand.

I'm glad to hear you talk of timings. I must be CD7 today. It does seem to come round quite quickly, it wont be long until I'm doing the 2WW

07mumstheword · 08/10/2007 19:02

Could someone tell me how to update the list. It shows me at CD7 but not other stuff like TTC DC2, Cycle 6 and MC Jul/Sept.

I just have no clue how to do it and feel rude relying on others. Thank you.

Bucky2007 · 08/10/2007 19:32

wow, you have all been busy today, took me ages to read through everything.

Just a quick update, opened my first lot of CBD OPK's today, did first test and there he was... on the stick!!! So exactly what the EWCM was all about I do not know. I do not have any now. So, that was a cheap round really. Will do the necessary BDing for the next couple of day and then I guess its the 2ww again. And still have 6 sticks for next month!! .

Ladylush I have the same dilemma. My parents are going to Trinidad in March to see my grandmother, she's really old about 90 and they told me I should go as it will probably be the last time I see her. They do not know I am ttc. I booked my ticket yesterday. I figure, if I get a BFP I will see how I feel nearer the time.

Bucky2007 · 08/10/2007 19:33

oh one other thing...is it bad to get my highlights done during the 2ww?

PicknMix · 08/10/2007 19:42

Bucky Hi again!!!

Not sure about the highlights!?

Ladylush I had similar quandry - I'm due to fly to Oz at the end of the month and wasn't sure whether to continue ttc or not (had mc back in Jan so am a little wary). After much discussion with DH and the lovely ladies on here I decided that what will be will be. Am due to test about a week or so before we leave and am a little worried but figure at 6 weeks preg the flying wont cause much damage and (as one wise mner pointed out) Oz is english speaking and does have hospitals if necessary. Bit different where you're going tho I imagine. Think you're right - keep going for now and then if nothing by Dec book a last minute flight.

Apologies, very waffly tonight!

PicknMix · 08/10/2007 19:44

Just reread my post and writing that the flight wont cause much damage sounds wrong and flippant - have done careful research and apparently it wont do any damage to baby at that early stage

Bucky2007 · 08/10/2007 19:45

Hello again PicknMix think it is just us here...nobody seems to be around.

Meglet · 08/10/2007 19:51

Been at work today and am famished while waiting for dinner to cook, so not much time to read every post today. I have just realised that I need to get BD-ing any day now. Just have to find the energy!

muppet saw you on the Facebook MNname discussion page. Hope that doesn't make me sound like a crazy stalker!

I think I'm right in saying that lockets and spink are my cycle buddies for this month! ((((((waves excitedly!))))))

abbevillemum · 08/10/2007 19:58

You guys certainly have been busy.

After last month's positive OPK and BFN, this month I have used all seven sticks and no positive OPK. I have therefore decided that my new plan is just loads of BD and no more spending money on things I have to pee on!!! We'll see how it goes....loads of baby dust all round.

GardenAngel4 · 08/10/2007 20:16

bucky not sure about 2ww exactly, but I know you are not supposed to avoid highlights etc up to the 12 week scan, but thereafter ok. I agonised over this and then after consulting many friends I had them done just before DD was born. I also had 'magimeche' which doesn't touch the scalp. Foils are you best bet.xx

GardenAngel4 · 08/10/2007 20:16

sorry that should read 'you are supposed to avoid'

kd73 · 08/10/2007 20:35

Advice required: -

Have been using OPK test since cd 11 but its always negative
EWCM was on cd 14
currently on cd 16
difficult to say average cycle length as varies and only had 2 cycles since laparoscopy plus 1 cycle since m/c.

Should I rely on ewcm or opk test?

Bucky2007 · 08/10/2007 20:41

KD73 I had EWCM on CD9 am now CD14. I did an OPK stick today and got a positive. so...it would seem my EWCM was not right?

I would keep testing see if you get a positive, but BD every other day in case. I know digitalgirl got a positive on CD20/21!

fairysnuff · 08/10/2007 21:07

I have never got a postive on an opk
so I am giving up on my lot as a bad lot and am trusting the EWCM, BD every chance I get, also got pains the other day which I think would be ovulation ones and I checked my cervix. Couldn't find it so figured that I was doing ok.
But, still and worried that I never get a positive on an opk.
Then again, I was not using them everyday, just when I thought the timing was right.
Which, after all those checks, really should have been the other day
So I officially give up on them and will trust all the rest.I didn't need them last time....

Check fairy trying to talk herself round

spookykitty · 08/10/2007 21:07

Evening people loads of posts again to catch up on

libralady - good to have you back, CD13 already crucial time again for you, hopefully this will be your month

Bucky - good news on getting the now go get BDing for that BFP, hopefully you won't need the other 6 sticks

Abbevillemum - I'm the same last month EWCM, ov pain. on opks, good load of timed BDing still BFN, this month I'm at least pretending to be relaxed about it, no opks and I'm not peeing on anything until Halloween as I tested too early last time got a BFN got down about it.

KD - would agree with Bucky just keep up the regular BDing, maybe buy another pack of opks as you may be ovulating later than you think.

07mumstheword · 08/10/2007 21:20

Thanks picknmix

digitalgirl · 08/10/2007 22:15

KD73 - my last cycle was 41 days and this cycle I ov'ed (according to the opk) on CD21 (as bucky mentioned), which means the absolute latest I'll be due AF is the day after CD37. My EWCM has been all over the place this cycle, I even got some today (CD31). I'd just keep bd'ing as often as you can. If you want to keep on with the opk's it might help reassure you when you get a positive (as it did with me), but it's so easy to miss a surge even if you do them everyday.

By the way, your EWCM can turn up five days before you ov! Means your SUPERFERTILE.
