Hey everyone

Not been on fors few days but just caught up. So sorry for peoples BFNs and welcome to the newbies.

@Pippy20 so nice to hear from you again but so sorry you are feeling so down. You have been through so much and I can't even imagine how hard it must be. It sounds like everything you are feeling is totally normal and understandable. Some time off work sounds like it would be good, could you and OH even make it away for an overnight or something. A change of scenery and some time to relax and be kind to yourself.

Pippy20 · 11/08/2020 17:12

Hi ladies - thank you for your kind words and for letting me have a jolly good vent! I’ve got 9 days of annual leave coming up in a couple of weeks (should be going aboard but looks like quarantine is impending - doh!) I can’t really take any additional time off work as coming back would make things a million times worse as I would then be really behind, plus I don’t have anyone to cover my work so I think it would only add to my stress levels. Just holding out a teeny tiny bit of hope that we can get away during that time off as neither of us particularly wants to spend it at home. Trying to find a UK based alternative for when our trip is inevitably cancelled but there’s either nothing available, or the stuff that is available is insanely pricey. Found the only available hotel in Cornwall.....£5,200 for two nights! Absolutely INSANE!

Loved seeing the kitten pics by the way - so cute!

Crayon7 · 12/08/2020 11:04

For me cd10 today nothing happening really.

CAG14 · 12/08/2020 12:54

@Pippy20 I know what you mean about wanting to get away. We have had to cancel our Mauritius holiday in September but we've booked a UK one instead. Going to Cornwall and Devon but had to do midweek in Cornwall in September so there was slightly more availability! But it still wasn't cheap!! Crazy isn't it.

@Crayon7 majority of women don't get symptoms until day after AF is due apparently. Are you planning on testing early?

I'm 8DPO and also feel nothing but I have been so busy with work to prevent me from symptom spotting. Really really want this to be our month but it is so hard to stay positive or optimistic. Getting close to 12 months of TTC now and this is our 11th cycle.

Cd10 here. Trying to negotiate fw in this heat....unsuccessfully so far

Anyone else in same boat?

Mia1985x · 12/08/2020 18:11

@LT103 I'm probably being stupid here but what is fw?

I'm currently CD5 so gearing up for yet another month of TTC. Cycle 20 for us now. Going to do SMEP, keep up with the supplements and pineapple core. Fingers crossed.

Stabal · 12/08/2020 20:17

@CAG14 ahh here comes the symptom days 😂 fingers crossed for you!

@Pippy20 I know exactly how you feel. I'm going between thinking I don't want to go through that again and but what if the next time is the right time.. It's so difficult putting yourself in this position. Take it easy and do what you feel is right.

@LT103 agreed! Even thinking of DTD in this is making me want to cry 😂

I'm CD12.. Due to ovulate anytime from about a week from now. I normally start OPKs now just in case but I can't bring myself to take one out of the cupboard to get started. I feel defeated and sort of, "what's the point, it's not going to happen" but at the same time I'm still temping so something in me is making me keep track. I took a bit of a mad fit and ordered micro attachments for my hoover and a steam cleaner.. So I hoovered my mattress, all the little nooks and folds in the memory foam pillow top edges etc and steam cleaned it yesterday. It felt so satisfying. I also bought a new mattress protector and duvet which came today so I'm so excited to get to bed lol. God, what a riveting life!

LT103 · 12/08/2020 20:31

@Mia1985x fertile window. The time coming up to ovulation when I need to dtd in this horrible heat 😫😂

stepmumSW5 · 13/08/2020 15:27

CD6 here and starting ovulation tests probably from tomorrow. Hubby is so excited that we already started dtd - he says it's good practice 😂

For those who mentioned holidays, it's worth driving to countryside France. You get a lot more bang for your buck.

One question: which cycle tracking apps do you guys use?

Xx

Pippy20 · 13/08/2020 16:26

@stepmumSW5 yes that’s where we are hopefully off to in a fortnight! just praying they don’t ban all travel. we can both quarantine and work from home fortunately but obviously insurance won’t be valid if they advise against all but essential travel. Such a first world problem but I seriously need a holiday in the sun and all of the wine lol.

I use Flo and also the fertility setting on my Fitbit. Have really fallen out of love with my Fitbit lately as it’s what made me first aware the second miscarriage was happening with my RHR declining rapidly - so I’ve decided to ditch it as it just stresses me out something chronic! Annoying as it’s also been a good indicator of early pregnancy for me. I guess there can be such a thing as too much information when TTC!

Currently patiently waiting for AF to show up but no idea when that’ll be as my cycles will be totally out of whack if last time was anything to go by - and the annoying thing was they’d just got back to about 28/29 days when I got pregnant again - Sod’s law!! I can bet though that if we do get to go away that’s probably when AF will come a cropper 😂

Crayon7 · 13/08/2020 18:06

@CAG14 i am still before my ovulation so it takes ages. I have 32-35ish days cycles and it just drags😐

CAG14 · 13/08/2020 18:17

@Crayon7 apologies I read your post wrong I thought you meant 10DPO not CD10. Doh!

I'm on 9DPO and have no symptoms but I've been so busy (and hot) that I've not really been symptom spotting. Plan to take a FRER test on Sunday which will be 12DPO. AF is due Tuesday.

LT103 · 13/08/2020 18:34

@stepmumSW5 I use ovia and fertility friend. I also have femtometer for interpreting my opk strips

Stabal · 13/08/2020 18:34

@stepmumSW5 I use Fertility Friend because I temp, it's the best I've found as it detects when ovulation happened. Alongside it I use femometer for OPK tracking.

Crayon7 · 13/08/2020 19:01

@CAG14 I wish I was haha! Such long wait.

@stepmumSW5 I use femometer as I have Bluetooth thermometer with it and I like it.

I do also free fertility friend but I mainly use femometer, just like to have charts in two places

stepmumSW5 · 13/08/2020 19:46

Thank you @Crayon7 @Stabal @LT103

I've started using flo and I used period calendar "all my life" so it's got a long history of my cycles. I've now downloaded an app to help me keep an eye on my RHR too.

I'm still not over the fact that seven seas made me miss AF last month and f* up my TTC schedule. I'm now feeling much better without SS and taking just folic acid and coq10. I don't have any more of the fake pregnancy symptoms it gave me.

LT103 · 13/08/2020 20:22

@stepmumSW5 I’ve heard a lot of stories with pregnacare or seven seas. I take pregnacare but never had any cycle issues. It does say it on the box tho. Def worth stopping if it affects it that much!

Crayon7 · 13/08/2020 21:43

Oooh I didn't knew bad rep I am taking seven seas trying for a baby is that the ones you are talking about?

I didn't get pregnant obv but I don't seem to have any side effects, what's wrong with them?

stepmumSW5 · 13/08/2020 22:07

@Crayon7 I think most people don't have any issues. If you haven't had any so far it should be ok. It messed up my cycle that has been regular all my life. But a lot of people live SS and have gotten pregnant while taking it. So don't worry. I was just one of the unlucky ones. I would never recommend it to anyone though.

Stabal · 13/08/2020 22:43

@Crayon7 some nutrients affect your hormone balance and can cause irregular cycles or bleeding

Crayon7 · 14/08/2020 11:28

Thanks ladies I will use what I have and switch to something else in terms of folic acid.

I did use pregnancies but it's expensive for what it is.

Any recommendations? Or just what are you taking so I can look up:)

Jadeb1995 · 14/08/2020 13:17

Hey @Crayon7
This month I've started taking the following in addition to folic acid:

Vital DHA (60 vegicaps) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001AZA4JQ/ref=cmswwrcppapip9KA4VBK7TzsWll_
2 a day

CoQ10 300mg x 90 Tablets - 3 Months Supply. with Vitamin C and Black Pepper Extract. SKU: CQ3 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GUEHM7O/ref=cmswwrcppapip_EUjvjSmo4WknW
2 a day

I've started taking them after reading about Luisa Zissmans blog post and how many women it's worked for

I've also started taking magnesium + B6 as it's good for the luteal phase

stepmumSW5 · 14/08/2020 13:18

@Crayon7 I'm taking these but I got the wrong dose of coq10 so I'm taking 6 tablets each time

TTC Baby no1. The crazy lot. Thread 2!!
Crayon7 · 14/08/2020 14:17

Thanks I need to do more research! :)

It's just frustrating as it's quite pricey and I have been TTC for 2 years now. This plus OPKs tons of tests just adds up doesn't it.

stepmumSW5 · 14/08/2020 14:50

@Jadeb1995 do you mind showing us the size of the capsules?
