@mummyjojo19 how do you track ovulation again?

@candycrush2298 Yh some people with PCOS have too much LH and therefore they pretty much always get a positive. The max you should have a positive for is 72 hours. Anything more than that means that OPKS aren't working for that person. Having said that the article I read about low progesterone is quite concerning too. But I guess the BBT will help.

@ReginaaPhalange GPs don't know very much. No seriously they don't. Once I was diagnosed with PCOS due to a scan my GP ordered blood tests. I took the results with me to see the NHS gynae and he said these results are pointless because your GP hasn't taken them on Day 6 and Day 21 which is what we'd need.

Do not take the word of your GP if all that has come up is cysts in your ovaries. That is not enough for a PCOS diagnosis at all. You'd have Polycystic ovaries but if you don't have other symptoms such as
-Weight gain

• Hirutism
• Hair loss
• Hormones unbalanced
• irregular periods

then you don't have the syndrome. Don't take your GP's word for it! Let a gynae tell you whether you have PCOS or not.

Having said that your periods seem to be somewhat irregular at the moment?

@Elakiya yep - defo no further blood tests were taken from me!!

Periods are so irregular the last 2 cycles and getting pain but that's it really. Normally I am quite regular

@Elakiya that is really interesting. Low progesterone I have read can cause quite a bit of problems and I have seen many women on progesterone supplements but those articles I read were for the US I dont really know what is the process for low progesterone in the UK. Usually a good indicator for low progesterone is a short luteal phase.

@ReginaaPhalange I'd ignore the GP and wait for a proper diagnosis from a specialist.

@candycrush2298 My Luteal phase looks okay though (between 12-14 days as I am unsure when I ovulated but will be able to check this month). Hmm... maybe it's not a progesterone thing then the article did say not statistically significant lol! Will continue to dig, but can't really find anything at the moment.

@Elakiya hahahaha nope your luteal phase sounds pretty normal lol!! Doesnt sound like thats an issue for you xx

@ReginaaPhalange If I were you I'd ignore the diagnosis about PCOS and just keep trying stress free. In 11 months if you're not pregnant then go back and see what the gynae says.

They also use infertility as a symptom of PCOS (well my gynae did). I have all the symptoms of PCOS though (but don't have cysts in my ovaries). My GP told me my blood work is normal so I was super confused but the specialist then re-did the blood work and confirmed I hadn't ovulated and therefore diagnosed me with PCOS.

Out of curiosity, what was the issue that led to them doing a scan in the first place?

@candycrush2298 After fudging the graph that point that said 35.41 my graph now seems to be fluctuating around the 36.4 - 36.6 range. Excited to see how this changes. How does your graph look?

@Elakiya I had a big rise this morning to 36.51 mine has been fluctuating between 36.1 and 36.37 and now today its so high that the Femometer app thinks I ovulated yesterday but my fertility monitor says today is the second day of the peak.... soooo ummm not too sure lol!!

@candycrush2298 what’s the cheap OPK like? If it’s gone down to high rather than peak then you probably ovulated on the day of your surge?

@Elakiya its too early to test with cheap opk for me because I am only on my second cup of tea whahahaha. Will pee after this cup and do the two hour hold with no fluid intake and let you know.

Its one of 2 things.

1. I ovulated during the night
2. 4 hours sleep wasn't enough as I only went to bed just before 1am and wake up at 5am to take the temp.

Will check the opk later as well as my temp tomorrow. If tomorrow's temp is lower I may have to fudge this one 🤣🤣🤣

@Elakiya I was in a lot of pain for about 5 weeks - I now suspect it was a ovarian cyst but my GP wasn't sure so I ended up getting second opinion and was referred for a scan and that's where the results came from

Hi all, I'm now on CD 9 and got first flashing smiley on the CB ovulation test today! Quite enjoying using it😂, now I'm looking forward to that static smiley later in the week, fingers crossed!

@PinkRoseFlower I BD this morning and im not even anywhere near ovulation. AF finished yesterday. You'll all be very proud of me hahaha!! 😂😂

@PinkRoseFlower yay for the flashing smiley. At least now you can bd every second day and then again when it goes static. Whoop whoop. Mine was for 4 days before detecting peak so shouldn't be too long for you xx

@candycrush2298 @PinkRoseFlower I'm not even joking, he's gone to Argos to buy me a foot spa hahahaha!!! I came home from work yesterday absolutely knackered as i was on my feet allday so he's getting me a treat 😂
I wonder if i will get another treat if i do it again tomorrow 😂😂

I'm going to start OPKs from tomorrow i think. I've only got 3 sticks left for my CB digital. Not sure whether to order more or just use the strips until i get close then hopefully have enough sticks to see my peak.

@Elakiya my opk has gone lighter today as it normally would day after peak so will see what the temps say either definitely ovulated during the night as per the temp or I will ovulate today.... we shall see what these temps say. For safety sake I manually changed femometer to say today is ovulation and will count tomorrow as 1DPO. As if it was during the night it would have been early hours of today anyway.

@candycrush2298 your graph looks really neat. Mine looks like its all over the place already and I've only logged 3 days haha.

So this evening i had a nice foot spa and indian take away. I think my hubby feels like a brand new man lol

@Kaybobx yeah mine also looked wonky with only 3 readings but as the days go on it starts looking a little more normal.
