5 failed rounds of IVF and I'm bloody preggers!!!!

Oh my god. I just have to tell SOMEONE.

We have had 5 failed rounds of IVF, the last one failed last year. Spent tens of thousands of pounds to no avail.

My period was late (which is standard really, it's all over the place at the moment) and I thought I'd just do a test so I could put the thought of being pregnant out of my mind and carry on waiting for AF to turn up.

And fuck me it was positive (excuse the language!!). I'm literally beside myself!! I have never had a BFP and was told to stop IVF, there was nothing more they could do.

It's very early, so praying all goes ok, but this is more than I've ever had before.

Congratulations! We know someone who couldn't pregnant for years, had twins on ivf then got pregnant again 3 months after giving birth!

Congratulations! I know a few people who took years to conceive the first via IVF and then had a second “surprise” natural conception shortly after, but haven’t heard of a lovely miracle like this in a while.

(But don't be surprised if it's negative or realistic about it being early days. Lots of men act like it's bad news, even after lots of ivf etc. It's a bit of an 'Oh Fuck' moment that sometimes don't deal with well.

I hope yours isn't like that, but don't take it personally if he is, he will sort himself out & be excited too!

As it happens, I know a few couples who have had kids after years of treatment, but I'm much more candid about saying that to anyone 'trying' these days.
