New thread for our SMEP adventures ❤️

Cycle days 1-7
◦ CD1 is your first day of full flow
◦ Stock up on Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs)
◦ Stock up on Pregnancy Tests
◦ Mark start dates on your calendar:
◦ CD8 = BD (“Baby Dance”/have intercourse/”try”) every other day until you receive a positive OPK (+OPK)
◦ CD10 daily OPK tests
Cycle day 8
◦ BD, and plan to BD every other day until +OPK
Cycle day 10
◦ Start daily OPK testing until OPK turns positive
+OPK day
◦ BD today, tomorrow, and the next day.
◦ Skip a day and BD one more time.
◦ Mark test day on your calendar: +OPK day + 15 = test day
◦ If OPK never turns positive, BD every other day until your period (AF or “Aunt Flo/Flow”) arrives or until CD35
Test day (or CD35)
◦ If AF has not arrived, take a home pregnancy test
◦ First morning urine (FMU) does not always yield the best results, you may wish to try with your second morning urine (SMU) or an afternoon test after a 3-4 hour hold (no liquids)

Anyone feel free to join us ❤️

@VenusStarr no, I gave up on them as I never seemed to get a good reading and I was throwing enough money away POAS for BFNs after the TWW, it felt wasteful doing it beforehand too Grin usually if I was thinking I'd be about to ovulate we'd DTD but I know part of SMEP is the days off so I'm not sure if it would be more harm than good for following the plan!

Dizzttc · 20/07/2020 13:57

Hi @VenusStarr

I took a frer this morning (10dpo) i think i see a vvvfl OH says he sees it too. Have had backache since saturday evening and the nausea hasnt eased off.

Im going to retest tomorrow. Im excited but scared as had a chemical in april. OH was really disappointed in april. Since the test this morning he keeps asking how i feel just dont want to let him down.

Ill keep you updated

Also don't count yourself out yet. Try and stay positive and keep yourself busy. Sending baby dust x

Morning all, I'm on CD 9 of SMEP. This is my 3rd month of TTC and I had a MMC last month which was really hard for me and partner.
I'm feeling really good about this month and like the structure that SMEP gives!
Quick question ladies, what time of the day do you do your OPK's? I really struggle to hold a wee in for 4 hours!!

Dizzttc · 23/07/2020 14:21

Quick update CD1 of cycle 8. I had 2 faint positives monday and tues so looks like this is my 2nd chemical pregnancy, 1st was in April.

Ive ordered some maca root, will be trying zita west conception tablets this cycle along with seed cycling and SMEP again. Trying to stay positive Smile

PlanBea · 23/07/2020 14:38

@Dizzttc sorry to hear it's another chemical. Is your luteal phase around 14 days long? Are your periods usually medium/heavy? It could be thyroid or progesterone issues possibly

Dizzttc · 23/07/2020 21:38

@PlanBea my luteal phase is currently anything between 10-12 days. And periods are medium/ heavy. I have been wondering about low progesterone to be honest. Hadn't thought of possible thyroid issues. Will look into it. Thank you ☺️

VenusStarr · 24/07/2020 06:28

I'm sorry to hear that @Dizzttc. I have a slightly raised thyroid so take the lowest dose of levothyroxine. For fertility it's best to be under 2.5 x

@PlanBea how are you getting on?

Hi @Jadeb1995 I'm really sorry for your loss - I've had 2 MMCs and 1 early loss, it's really hard ❤️ I do my opks in the afternoon, between 2-10pm - I definitely don't hold for 4 hours! I only use the cheap amazon ones though. I think clearblue need to be done first thing. Good luck

I think I'm out sadly. Feeling frustrated and thought we'd be starting ivf soon, but that's delayed, so will be starting up again with smep once af is done (when she arrives).

How are you both @MummyOfZog @Butterfly134? X

Willowfalls · 27/07/2020 22:12

Hi Ladies,

Please could I join you? I’m on cycle 3 for my first! I’m 32 & DH is 39. Going to try SMEP this month - typed it in google and this thread popped up :).

On cycle day 2! Xx

Ps. Hi @PlanBea from my temping thread :)

PlanBea · 27/07/2020 22:47

Hi @Willowfalls! Nice to see you over at SMEP too.

I'm 7dpo today and this is the first time I've had a proper temp rise. Adding in our first go of SMEP, maybe this will be my cycle. How are you guys getting on? @VenusStarr @Vea1601 @Dizzttc @Jadeb1995?

Willowfalls · 27/07/2020 23:24

@PlanBea wishing you lots of luck this cycle 🥰

PlanBea · 27/07/2020 23:31

@Willowfalls thanks, month 19 (cycle 16 - thanks long cycles!), hoping this is the one!

Jadeb1995 · 28/07/2020 08:29

@PlanBea ahh fingers crossed this is the cycle!! I've had a strange month so far, 1st time using OPKs and I haven't had a peak only 1 day where it was high. I'm CD16 now, not sure if the high day was my peak, we've been DTD every other day.
When will you test or will you wait for AF?

@Willowfalls good luck for SMEP this cycle!

Jilly1988 · 28/07/2020 23:15

Hey everyone hope you are all well. I haven’t been on here for quite a while, decided to take a break to try and clear my mind. On cycle 13 at the minute and CD14 I have been DTD every other day from day 8 I got my solid smiley yesterday on CD13 and felt ovulation twinges last night. We DTD CD8, 10, 12, 13. We were supposed to do it today but we have spent the entire day travelling and by the time it came tonight we were exhausted and my EWCM seemed to have completely disappeared and we have ran out of pressed so it just wasn’t happening. Do you think this will have a big impact? We are going to try tomorrow just incase.

NamechangeTTC · 01/10/2020 23:39

Is anyone here still going with smep? Mind if I join? This is our first cycle of smep. Dtd cd 8, 10, 12, hit peak today cd14 so ready for the three in a row.
