Cycle days 1-7
◦ CD1 is your first day of full flow
◦ Stock up on Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs)
◦ Stock up on Pregnancy Tests
◦ Mark start dates on your calendar:
◦ CD8 = BD (“Baby Dance”/have intercourse/”try”) every other day until you receive a positive OPK (+OPK)
◦ CD10 daily OPK tests
Cycle day 8
◦ BD, and plan to BD every other day until +OPK
Cycle day 10
◦ Start daily OPK testing until OPK turns positive
+OPK day
◦ BD today, tomorrow, and the next day.
◦ Skip a day and BD one more time.
◦ Mark test day on your calendar: +OPK day + 15 = test day
◦ If OPK never turns positive, BD every other day until your period (AF or “Aunt Flo/Flow”) arrives or until CD35
Test day (or CD35)
◦ If AF has not arrived, take a home pregnancy test
◦ First morning urine (FMU) does not always yield the best results, you may wish to try with your second morning urine (SMU) or an afternoon test after a 3-4 hour hold (no liquids)

@VenusStarr great to hear that you had covered the pre ovulation days! I’m now in my tww too as took an opk and it’s low, is in fact I did ovulate on the day of my peak reading. Looking forward to starting our tww together! X

Sounds good @Butterfly134 :) I thought I was unusual ovulating on the day of my positive! Good to have a buddy. I want to try not to keep measuring my temperature in my tww as I can get obsessed. I'll do it until fertility friend confirms my ovulation and then try to be good :) x

I’m just waiting for this weird cycle to end. I’m 10dpo and AF due Thursday. Thought I didn’t ovulate as I had quite a bit bleeding at 3dpo and temps didn’t go up. But temps slowly increased after that so obviously did ovulate. But been spotting on and off from last week so know it won’t be this cycle.

BBT drives me crazy too @VenusStarr I get obsessed and then that makes me wake up and think about if I will have enough sleep before I take it etc 🙈 I’ve just took the plunge and ordered an Ava to see if that helps at all.

I am currently on CD31, no AF and still getting BFN. I only have cheap tests as I burn through them so quick and after 18 months I don't want to think how much money I have wasted. I was considering ordering some different test but by the time they arrive I should know one way or the other.

Morning @VenusStarr I feel similar to you tbh. Dtd on Friday. Peak Saturday (day 15) on CB advanced (high from day 8...). Dtd Saturday and Sunday. Just really not feeling it today at day 17. Don't feel I can muster the enthusiasm. My husband struggles to 'finish' sometimes when under pressure. He wants to try again today as per Smep plan but I don't see the point. Lh surge no longer showing. I don't think its worth the stress....

Agreed @Vea1601 I think if you're not tracking bbt it makes sense to finish the plan. We caught last year and didn't do the final one as I was 5dpo by that point. Bless you dh - mine said yesterday I thought it was our day off? We did manage it though but it does take the romance away somewhat.

I know what you mean @Jilly1988 I've got into a fairly good habit with it now but if I wake up early needing the loo sometimes I have to do a mental calculation! Haha x

Can I join? 1st month following SMEP for us. I usually have longer cycles so we didn't start DTD EOD until CD13 (I tend to ovulate ~CD24). However, I saw OPK was getting v close on CD16 (much earlier than usual for me!) and got Peak on CD17 & CD18 so we followed the SMEP plan.

We bd CD13, 15, 16 (because we felt like it), 17, 18, 19 ... so 5 days straight. We're on our 'skip a day' today and then we should DTD again tomorrow as the 'one for luck'. However, ovulation pain on CD17 and temp began rising CD18 so I'm pretty certain we're well past ovulation now and it won't make any difference! Anyone else skip the last one?

@MummyOfZog we loosely follow SMEP as DH goes on business trips regularly and also after 18months of trying it is too much sometimes. If you don't feel like it tomorrow then just miss it out.

We basically just tried home insemination for the 1st time 😬😬 husband really struggling now when it's ovulation time. Fine the rest of the month. So he just did it in a pot. We syringed it up and I put it inside after a bit if preseed. A lot bloody easier than nirnal

@Vea1601 we were going to try home insemination last month to take the pressure off, i read loads of good success stories about it x

Morning everyone, I'm officially 3dpo today, confirmed by fertility friend, so am due on a week on Saturday. Start the progesterone on Sunday 🤞 is anyone due around the same time testing early? I'm not sure whether to or not...

Hi everyone, sorry I've been awol for a bit. I've been trying not to think about TTC in the TWW as it works better for me. I was so positive this month, and my temp has been high for 16 days, then AF caught me this morning.

Hi @VenusStarr I’m 4 Dpo so only one day ahead of you! We will be testing at near enough the same time 🤞🏽. I’m not sure when the earliest I would be able to test... have you felt any different this cycle?

@Seafrontsky sorry to hear about AF showing up. The tww wait is the worst but you got through it... it won’t be long until you can try again. Sending you lots of hugs!

@Butterfly134 ah good :) I think 12dpo which is Thursday for me would give a definite answer. With the progesterone I should test at 14dpo as I'll need to stop or up the dose, so I'll definitely test, but even if I test on Thursday I'll still need to retest. Might just be easier to wait 🤔
I'm very gassy in the evening (looking forward to the increased progesterone! Haha!) last month I got sore boobs immediately after ovulation, but no sign yet. I also had a fallback rise on my chart. What about you with symptoms?

@VenusStarr @Butterfly134 I'm 4DPO today too. I have a shorter leutal phase (usually around 11days) so I'll be testing a week today on Wednesday when i'm due on.

I'm temping (using Ava bracelet) and noticed my temps were a slow rise after ovulation... anyone else get this? I'm a bit worried that slow rise, plus my shorter LP could be a sign of low progesterone during TWW. I've always had a shorter LP though, and managed to fall pg with DS 4 years ago easily so just hoping it's not a problem now.

@Seafrontsky sorry to hear that. It is always such a roller coaster. I dread AF coming but I get to the point where I am so pessimistic that I just want to get on with a new cycle.

@MummyOfZog @VenusStarr looking forward to testing ladies, I will be testing on Wednesday too. Haha I’m always gassy due to having ibs Venus which is a pain when I’m trying to spot symptoms. Are you feeling any symptoms mummy of Zog? I haven’t felt any different yet

@Butterfly134 Nope, no symptoms at all but its still v early so I wouldn't expect anything until later on when implantation could happen I guess. I tend to turn into a crazy symptom spotter from about 7DPO though - this time I'm going to really try to switch off from the crazy!

How's everyone doing? No symptoms to report from me, 5dpo according to fertility friend. I'm going to start the progesterone tomorrow - was getting confused with my dates, but I'm supposed to start 7 days after positive opk, which is tomorrow.

Hi @VenusStarr how are you? I’m good on this end, just driving myself crazy waiting until I can test. No symptoms from me, just the odd bout of sore boobs. I feel like I’m already gearing myself up for a negative test

Hi im 7dpo have had cramping past few days but seems to have stopped today and waves of nausea. Thats it currently. Think i will be disappointed with a negative this month as we have tried alot harder than other months. Trying to stay positive though.

No symptoms from me except some backache/twinges but looking back I have had this each TWW as I get nearer to AF date, so not a preg symptom. I was ridiculous and tested this morning - no idea why! - BFN obviously. I'm 9DPO, which is the most common day to implant on so it's highly likely I wouldn't even have implanted if I had been successful anyway! Stupid of me! I must admit, despite perfect timing during my fertile week (we managed to cover each of the 3 days leading up to O, O day itself, and day after O) I'm quite certain that this isn't our month sadly!

Hi SMEPers! So I'm on CD17, my Daysy is trying to tell me I ovulated yesterday (the day highlighted) but looking at my temps I don't think I did? Is it worth DTD today in case I did, or should I stick with EOD until I actually get a temp rise that would indicate O?

Are you doing opks as well @PlanBea? I agree, I don't think ovulation was yesterday but today's temperature looks promising 🤞 I'd be inclined to do 3 days on the trot now.

@MummyOfZog sorry for the bfn, it sucks. I've been feeling a bit periody today (8dpo) due af on Saturday. I'm not sure how I feel to be honest. I'm hopeful in the sense that we covered my ovulation date but just don't know if it'll be our month.

How are you feeling @Dizzttc? Are you going to test early?
